Title: Mother Knows Best

Description: Rapunzel believes herself to be a perfectly normal girl, save for the fact she has magical hair with the power to glow, heal, reverse people's age, and even bring people back to life when she sings. She's been told by the person she believes to be her mother that the outside world is full of people who would do anything to use or steal her powers for themselves, and so she's never left the house. But everything she knows is thrown into question when the Marauders decide to go exploring, and end up breaking into her house, which they believed to be abandoned.

After managing to disarm them and hide not only their wands, but the two-way mirrors as well, she makes the four boys a deal: take her to see the lanterns that she sees light up the sky every year on her birthday, and she'll give them their stuff back.

Together, the five of them have an adventurous journey to the village, growing closer than any of them could ever have predicted. But while they've been having fun, Rapunzel's mother has been making a plot with Orion and Walburga Black; a plan to not only get Rapunzel and Sirius back, but also to teach the other three Marauders a lesson that none of them will ever forget.

Plot points:

*• Rapunzel is actually the daughter of a well respected and much loved magical family that live in the village, but was taken by the "mother" when she was a baby

*• Every year on her birthday, her real parents do the lantern thingy like in Tangled

*• Rapunzel lives with her "mother" in a supposedly abandoned house a little bit away from the village where one of the Marauders lives, but still close enough to be able to see the lanterns from there

• I was going to say that the "mother" was a Death Eater, and she took Rapunzel as a mission from Voldemort, who wanted the powers of her hair to use just in case it was necessary

*• Rapunzel is an untrained witch

• She hardly ever does accidental magic because she uses the powers of her hair so often

• Instead of Rapunzel using her hair to pull the "mother" up the tower, I was going to say that she uses it to pull something that unlatches the door, because there's no doorknob on the outside, and no other entry points on the ground floor (including windows)

• If you go with the "mother" being a Death Eater, I was going to say that there's spells on the door so that you can't open it from the outside unless you've got the Dark Mark (or are Voldypants), but no Death Eaters ever actually go there, because they're kept in the dark about Rapunzel

• Could get Rapunzel and Peter to fall in love?

*• Rapunzel doesn't fall in love with James, Sirius, or Remus!!

• On that note, Wolfstar would be greatly appreciated

*• Rapunzel is the same age (and would be in the same year at Hogwarts) as the Marauders

• It would probably be best if this is set in the summer holidays between the Marauders' fourth and fifth years at Hogwarts, especially if you use the plotline I already have planned out

• I have a general plotline already, written in my usual rambly, stream-of-consciousness style that I'll send automatically if this plot gets accepted, but you don't have to use it if you don't want to
