Title: I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire

Description: Harper Franklin is... different. Out of control. Not the sort of "out of control" that one might label a naughty child who won't do what they're told, but the sort of "out of control" one might call a serial killer, or someone who's been possessed. She often lost control of her actions completely, and when that happened she did bad things. Things that hurt people.

The doctors always said the same thing — there wasn't any visible cause of her strange behaviour. Her parents had got her as many tests and things as they possibly could to try and find some way of stopping her sudden outbursts, but nothing had helped.

Probably because it wasn't an illness, but a curse.

Then, one night in the middle of August [month can change], an attack on the hospital by some very strangely-dressed people shooting jets of light from the end of odd-looking sticks changed her life forever. Thrown into a world of magic — a world that's currently at war with itself — Harper finds out that there's more to her than she first thought. Perhaps what had been regarded as a curse could actually be the key to ending the war for good. All she has to do is harness it.

Plot points:

• I had originally intended for Harper to be under the Imperius Curse (by a Death Eater, or the era's equivalent) but it might be better if it's some sort of old curse put on a long-dead relative (before the magic was buried and the family became a Muggle one) or something like that so that she can learn to control it

*• Harper is not an Obscurus!

*• The sole purpose for the attack on the hospital is to find the source of all the powerful magical stuff that's been going on for years and years (hint: it's Harper) and take them to the headquarters of whoever carries out the attack (see next point)

• The attack was going to be by Death Eaters (or, again, the era's equivalent), who were then intercepted by Aurors.  B u t  it could be an "attack" rather than an actual Attack by the Aurors/Order of the Phoenix (or the era's equivalent)/etc

*• Before the attack, most of her life is taken up with hospital visits, doctor's appointments, etc as they try to work out what's wrong with her

• Depending on the era, there's different possibilities of where this could go. For example, Fantastic Beasts era could be either Grindelpants trying to use her to win the war like he does with Credence, or Dumbledore trying to use her to win the war like he lowkey does with Newt (although this would be far more manipulative than with Newt, I feel).

• She can be any age from 11 to 17, though I feel like 14 or 15 would be best

• The title was just a very quick "look through my Spotify playlist and pick a song title that sort of relates to the book" kinda thing, so it's probably best if it's changed to something more relevant to the actual story
