petals are torn off one by one
floating, spiraling down down down
onto the ground, meeting the blades of grass
which sweep amid one another
the wind picking up the disconnected pieces
they venture far from the stem, pushed into action
change brings motion, and motion brings change
so the petals fly so far, unknown to where they came from
so far from home, memories are no longer preserved
life as it is now reigns supreme
the journey of the petal becomes its permanent state
drifting always, but one day, it might return
and though the stem may be gone, eradicated by nature
swept up in the same way as the petal, this was still home
