drifting, so slowly
i've been here for billions of years
separating the two parts, making sure neither connects
none of them would anyways, really
they're so far away from one another
and though i stand between the groups,
their states are polar opposites
would they ever be compatible?
i cannot answer this, but i wonder,
and wonder is all i have
i have never met any of them
only watch them from a distance
they move on the same path as each other
they surround the same thing
but one group is closer
one of them sits so close
their face is constantly burning
one of them is so hot anyways
that it doesn't need the central masterpiece
but beyond this
behind my back
are the others,
witnessing its beauty from afar
making sure that their comments are whispered and hidden
their presence is shrouded by years of travel
and most of them are full of hot air,
swirling masses of thoughts bouncing in their heads
each one is so distinct, and so unique
but i know i must keep them apart
were they to collide, the whole world might end
