observation of people is easy
just don't talk, for some it's hard
but for others, who have lived in their shell
for millions of years only to poke their heads out
at the slightest of interruptions to their peace,
it's the easiest thing in the world
listen, and focus on something other than rampant thoughts
the way they go back to their own topics after another is mentioned
the way they wait for the other person to finish before talking about themselves
the way they change the subject when things get a little too awkward
the way they pause and attempt to comprehend what you said
the way they then go on to look around, at anything else, to mask their ignorance
it's so easy to be caught up in oneself, to see only through horse visors
but step back, take a look at everyone else, and you'll realize
just how self-consumed the world is
change doesn't need to happen, but it would great
if people were more willing to go through it
instead, they sit, and they wait, and they say
"nothing is going my way"
though they could change everything about themselves
(well almost everything)
if they just stopped, stepped back, and looked
truly looked
at the flaws which plague their system
sometimes they need a push
and we should give it to them when the time comes
but just as we should not be self-absorbed to a certain extent,
we cannot be ignorant of our internal struggles
if we complain and utter illness about them constantly
