the shift engendered by her revealed infidelity.
Not yours -- she was never yours,
yet now that you had that in your mind,
travelling to meet that new lover
breeds in your chest an eternal, infernal, internal
torment.
Swallowing, burping
when you're all gone,
and all that's left
has run along.
