Adventure
"Here we go, no turning back now, no matter what!" Thomas declared victoriously, beginning the drive to the airport.
"Hey kiddo, did you remember to grab your phone?" Patton spoke up gently from the backseat, Virgil rolling his eyes as he folded his arms across his chest.
"Pump the brakes Princey!" Thomas barked abruptly, causing Roman to slam on the brakes with a loud screech that sent the groups' heads flying forward before they slammed back against their seats.
"I don't see why it was necessary to overact in this fashion Thomas-"
"This isn't an overreaction Microsoft Nerd, how else is Thomas going to be able to listen to Disney songs during the overly long flight?" Roman interrupted snappishly, glancing back at Logan briefly before turning the car around to return to the house.
"I think Logan is just trying to tell you to be careful. After all, we don't want a CAR-tastrophe on our hands, now would we?" Patton giggled, Virgil smirking slightly as he shoved his hands into the pocket of his hoodie to retrieve his phone and a pair of black earbuds.
"What are you smiling at Hot Topic?" Roman huffed irritably as the car pulled up to the house, Thomas hopping out of the passenger seat before starting to close the door.
"Aw, you think I'm hot." Virgil countered tauntingly as he stuck his earbuds into his ears, scrolling through his phone.
"Thomas, why are we letting Roman drive us to the airport when he's rarely driven before?" Logan questioned warily.
"He's just excited is all, I think it's good for him to burn some energy before we're cooped up on a plane for a couple of hours. Besides, I'm tired.." Thomas answered as he stuck his head back into the car, shooting a warning look at Roman as he grinned smugly at Logan.
"Pocket Protector."
"Sir Sing-A-Lot."
"Now Roman and Logan, there's no need for name calling." Patton interjected in his parental tone, the pair grumbling under their breaths as they turned away from each other.
"Okay I'm back, now we're ready to go." Thomas stated as he hopped back into the car, buckling up before shutting the door behind him.
"Here we go for real this time!" Roman declared as the car peeled away from the house, Thomas watching it become nothing more than a black spot in the distance through the window.
"Thomas, I think I forgot my book thingy." Patton chimed in tentatively, Logan shooting a confused look at the male.
"You mean your passport? Patton, we're not traveling out of the country." Logan explained, Patton's expression showing his relief.
"Oh good, I wouldn't want to PASS up an adventure like this." Patton joked, Logan sighing in defeat as he looked up at the roof of the car.
"I'd like to pass on this." Virgil grumbled as he looked out the window, Roman gasping in surprise.
"You don't want to meet your adoring fans?" The eccentric male blurted as he slowed to a stop at a traffic light, taking the opportunity to turn and look back at the introvert.
"Yeah, as if I have fans." Virgil scoffed sarcastically, Logan looking up from his book The Murder of Roger Ackroyd that he had begun reading.
"I'm sure there's plenty of people that will be at the convention that will tolerate you to some degree." Logan assured him matter of factly.
"Yeah! Wait, what?" Patton frowned in confusion, Virgil moodily pulling his hood up as he turned so no one could see his face.
"Is Jack Smellington going to be this moody the whole trip?" Roman groaned in irritation, warning a light slap on the arm from Thomas.
"He just doesn't like crowds." Thomas whispered as the light turned green, Roman letting out a sigh as he drove on.
"Anyone have any Disney song suggestions?" Roman blurted abruptly, one hand on the wheel while the other reached for his phone.
"Stop, I'll pull up whatever song you want." Thomas interjected, grabbing the phone and pulling up Roman's extensive music collection.
"Well, I do like Comfortably Numb." Logan chimed in.
"That's not Disney!" Roman argued in an exasperated tone.
"I'm Not Okay, I Promise." Virgil muttered under his breath, Roman catching his words.
"Is everyone just stating how they feel right now?!" Roman shouted.
"I Am the Walrus!" Patton cheered, Virgil biting his lip to keep from laughing while Roman became more frustrated with his counterparts.
"No! What-?"
"I Am the Walrus." Patton repeated firmly, interrupting the royal.
"Fine. Thomas, just hit shuffle please." Roman requested in defeat, Thomas doing as he wanted.
During the drive, Logan continued to read while Thomas dozed off, Virgil stared out the window, and Patton fiddled with the sleeves of the cardigan around his neck.
