*Time skip*

I was walking down to the kitchen when it happened. I was walking down the stairs when I tripped, someone had tripped me, but instead falling forward down the stairs I grabbed the rail and fell into the person. I felt sparks where our skin touched and Shade, my wolf, howled joy, we found our mate! (the wolves don't originally have names and the humans give them the names if they want)

Then we remembered that we were an omega, nobody wanted us.

"Mate." I heard my mate say, a chilling feeling ran down my spine. I recognize that voice, I heard it when I was beaten near death. No, not him, anyone but him. Please, I beg you moon goddess, how could you be so cruel?!

We looked up.

Shit.
