Vs. Tokyo King

It was the day of the Shutoku match. Each team had prepared for the upcoming battle. Strategies and techniques has been finalized, and also each players all hungered victory. The air was tense, only silence to be heard around the Seirin area where Kyo had to slap Ame with a paper fan to create noise.

“Ow! What was that for Kyo?!” Ame complained, all heads turning to her while she yelled at her sister.

“Hehe, I just felt slapping you that’s all” Kyo acted cute giving a peace sign to her sister which Ame didn’t buy and still remained annoyed.

“Don’t give me that! Hitting me out of nowhere! What’s wrong with you!?” Ame continued to yell at her sister with veins popped all over her head.

“If you continue to yell like that, I’ll seriously hit you” Kyo threatened getting her paper fan ready with a death glare.

“Tch, whatever” Ame grumbled and then her PSP appeared in her hands as she turned it on. Kyo sighed at her sister’s behaviour and noticed Teppei staring at her making her slap her older sister. “O-Ow! What was that for now—” Ame wasn’t finished but Kyo kept hitting her with the paper fan she had in her hands.

“Baka! Baka! Baka! Baka! Baka!” Kyo chanted. “Is your PSP the only thing you focused on?! Think about the game will you?!”

“What?! I’ve already reminded these brats about what to do once they stepped on the bloody court! Do I have to repeat myself a dozen of times?!” Ame hollered pointing at the first five who were all staring at her. Out of annoyance and for Kyo to leave her alone, Ame had no choice but to talk to the five again proving to Kyo that she had done her role already and she could be left alone. “Tsk, Taiga!” they were all surprised when Ame called their ace by his first name. But being nonchalant about the curious faces, she didn’t even bother to explain that she is used to call other people with their given name. “You’re against Midorima Shintaro, besides scoring, your job is to block and stop him from shooting as possible and if ever Asami came up with a strategy, don’t forget to observe him first and don’t go loose on the court, you hear me?!”

“I got it, geez. Don’t need to say it again” Taiga murmured the last part, unfortunately with Ame hearing it; he received a massive punch at the head before the match started.

Ame continued to give instructions to the players until she reached Teppei. She paused with her talking for a while, giving him an awkward stare which the others noticed. “Teme—Ow! What was that for Kyo?!” Ame received a slap from her sister again after calling Teppei with the name she gave him.

“Kiyoshi-senpai has a name you know!” Kyo pointed out receiving an annoyed glare from Ame.

The strategist looked back at the centre player and avoided eye contact. “T-Teppe—Kiyoshi, you… you’re in charge with under the court, obviously. You have to get the rebounds if ever they fail to shoot. But having the Generation of Miracles’ shooter, there’s a low chance that they’d miss a basket. Also that, you’re up against Otsube Taisuke; according to some research, he’s a very strong centre so I need you to cope up with his strength”

“G-Got it” Teppei stammered and stared at the ground to hide his blush. It was the first time Ame called him with his name; even if it’s only his family name.

“Wait, you actually researched on the players?” Kyo asked, looking impressed. But it was instantly taken back when Ame answered: “Uh, no. I just hacked someone’s file with complete data research. I just took it from her folder and print it out. It was easier than having to do actual research on the players”

 “I see…” o_o “…You really are lazy” =_=”

=3= “Just shut up, Kyo”

The whistle was blown signalling that it was time. It was time for them to battle against one of Tokyo’s kings, Shutoku High. The five starters stood up from the bench and made their way to the court when Kyo nudge her sister. “Aren’t you even going to say good luck to him?” she raised an eyebrow. Ame flinched and gave her sister a sour look before replying. “Why should I? I’m not his girlfriend or anything…”

“The guy confessed to you, idiot! At least give him a cheer! It’ll be a big thing for him!” Kyo slapped her with a paper fan again.

Ame’s POV

Kyo -___- after she gave me a slap at the head, I was forced to call Teme one more time before he headed for the Tip Off. “Hey, Teme—I mean Kiyoshi” I changed the name I called him when I saw Kyo glare. He stopped walking and looked at me curiously. Tch, what should I even say to him? Would a thumb up help? Or should I…? Gah, screw it; anything would do. “Don’t you dare loose rebounds” I gave him my cold scary glare which usual works and scares the crap out of the players. But he…

He just smiled at me.

He took a few steps towards me, enough to reach my head and ruffle my hair. “I’ll do my best, Amei-chan” he assured with a sweet smile. “I’ll do it for the team and for you” after hearing those words, my eyes suddenly widened, and my heart beat is active than usual. He retracted his hand back and proceeded to the court to jump for the ball. I stared at his distanced figure and went back to sit on the bench beside Kyo who came to gossip about what I told her senpai.

“So, what did you say?” Kyo nudge me by the shoulders. Man, is she really that intrigued with Teme’s confession? I regret telling it to her…

“Can we not talk about that? Focus on the game, will ya” was my reply. “And you tell me I don’t pay attention on their games” I mumbled the last part and watched the game. It seems Asami had overdone it. She did well on her part and was able to raise that shooting monster even more. Plus… it looks like she even taught him the value of teamwork… Psh… who knew that girl could speak? Hmph, the first time I met her, I even thought she was mute; but she was just naturally and mysteriously quiet.

“E-Eh, Midorima-kun shoots again!” I heard Kyo’s concerned voice while observing the moves of the Shutoku players.

Now I see why they were titled one of Tokyo’s kings; they’re monsters.

But that doesn’t mean I’ll let Asami beat me in this match. After all, basketball strategies are my specialty and I won’t let anyone get better than me. Even if it’s Asami.

Currently, we’re having a problem with our mister phantom guy here. This guy with the hawk eye seems to keep him locked and unable to run around the court freely. Damn him. Making my job even harder. I started to mutter curses thinking of a way to take control of the game since the magic Misdirection isn’t working with this team. There was a short pause until I suggested coach to take  out Tetsuya of the game. Teme seemed to think about the same thing and let the bluenette walk back to the bench after giving Mitobe a high five and exchanged positions.

“Don’t worry Kuroko-kun, you’ll get them in the 3rd half” Kyo gave him a smile of encouragement, handing a fresh towel to him. He politely accepted it and replied to her calmly: “I’m okay. Besides, I believe that we won’t lose” well that made me raise an eyebrow.

“How can you say that when we’re in a tight situation?” hey, I know we’re leading but that doesn’t mean that Shutoku’s not doing anything about it. With Asami and that Nakatani coach, I bet they’re already thought of something about it. Plus, it’s hard to predict whenever that Midorima forms a shooting position. It’s either a fake then pass or shoot. “Shutoku’s probably bringing in the three points. It’s a shooting war…”

“I know that but, I have complete trust in my senpais and Kagami-kun, Ame-senpai” Tetsuya said as I glanced at him. “Don’t you? I heard Kiyoshi-senpai’s doing all the rebounds for you” WTF?! Was he eavesdropping at our conversation earlier?!

This made me punch him at the head and hiss. “Didn’t you hear that it was also for the team you little brat?” well at least my cold scary glare’s working on him. Haha.

“Y-Yes I heard that but…” he trailed off. “It’s obvious that he also wants to do it for you too” why this little…

“Don’t assume things, brat” I got my fist ready when Kyo hit me with her paper fan again. What’s her problem?! I gave her an irritated look and she glared back.

“Stop bullying Kuroko-kun” she told me. “And just because all of what he said is true doesn’t mean you can hit him freely like that! Be a good senpai, will you?!” T-Tch, whatever! And I have to MENTALLY argue because all of Tetsuya’s statements aren’t true har har~ whatever~

I should focus on the game. After all, we’re up against a Tokyo King.
