Turn My Cold Heart To Iron

Ame and Teppei spent their time together to the fullest while he playfully made her promise not to forget his name ever again. She even made Kotaro and him good friends, together with the other two.

Kyo finally cleared things with Taiga, resulting to them confessing to each other and even shared a kiss.

Of course the two had some explaining to do to the team, telling about their departure, resulting to cries and tears. They even dragged Hotaru with them who had to close things up with Shun.

“A-Ano… why are you giving me this?” Hotaru looked at Shun’s notepad filled with self-made puns.

“I’m giving it to you so you could always have a good laugh! I hear there aren’t many good jokers in Germany!”

Hotaru stared at him as if he was an idiot. Well he was an idiot in her opinion. She readied her fist to punch him which he called the ‘Pun punch’.

“You’re making things worse, Shun. Stop with your puns!” Ame shouted, trying to keep calm from hitting Shun as well.

“Now, now, don’t ruin their moment” Kyo chuckled as Taiga drapes his arm around her shoulders. “Good luck on your game tomorrow” she said kissing him on the cheek.

“Yeah. We’ll win for you guys” he replied then looked at the team who all nodded agreeing.

“Hai! We’ll be playing for Ame-san and Kyo-chan!” Riko cheered as everyone in the gym agreed with her.

“Don’t ruin the game with your puns” Hotaru sneered at Shun with a vein popped on her head. “If you punned in this game, I’ll kill you. Even if I have to come back for 1000km!”

“Ah, you’ll come all the way back for me? I’m flattered” Shun smiled making her blush.

“Shut up!”

“What time your flight is again?” Teppei asked, hugging Ame from behind.

“Ah, in about an hour. But we have to get going now since there’s still boarding and stuff” Ame answered facing him.

“I see…” he trailed giving her one tight hug and kissing her. “Be careful on your way”

“We will—”

“OW!” they heard people enter the Seirin gym as they turned around to see their opponent for today, trespassing their school. “Rakuzan?! What are you doing here?!” Junpei exclaimed angrily at them. They all stiffened at the three uncrowned kings’ presence and felt tension. But it quickly disappeared when Ame punched all of them at the head that including a major bump on the head.

“What are you doing here you, idiots?” she questioned putting her hands on her hips.

“You guys…” Teppei stood beside her. “What are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be with your team right now?”

“What, and let Hana leave without saying goodbye!?” Kotaro snapped with a childish tone.

“You finally learned your lesson…” Ame smirked. Last time she left, he didn’t even have the guts to show his face.

“Hana! We’re going to miss you!” Kotaro and Eikichi chorused, crushing the poor girl into a hug. Kyo knew that she was next so she hid behind Taiga, who protectively shielded her from her weird senpais. “Kyo-chan!” the two whined.

“Take care of yourself there” Reo patted Ame’s hair and gave her a motherly kiss on the forehead.

“Stay away from me!” Hotaru hollered throwing Shun at the two.

“My, my, it’s a mess over there” Reo commented. “Kotaro, Eikichi, we must be going now” he pulled the two by the collar. “We just came to say goodbye to Hana… again”

Ame looked at the sad looks on her childhood friends’ faces, and smiled. “C’mon now, don’t turn like me all of a sudden. It’s not the end of the world. We’ll meet again someday you morons”

“Since when are you all Iron-Hearted like him?” Hotaru raised an eyebrow with her arms crossed.

“Well, I have someone to blame for that” Ame glanced at Teppei who scratched his cheek sheepishly.

“Shouldn’t you three be heading to the airport now?” Kotaro wondered. “I mean, it’s already boarding time now…”

“Ah, you’re right…” Ame remembered. Teppei held her hand and squeezed it soothingly.

“We can’t go with you since our game starts in a few…” Riko said sadly. “We’re sorry”

“It’s fine, Senpai. After all…” Kyo gave them a bright smile. “You were the first ones who brought us into a complete family”

“K-Kyo…” they stared at her with teary eyes. “We’ll miss you!” they pulled the three sisters into a group hug.

The Rakuzan players stood there smiling as they watched them and left after a few seconds.

Kyo was already crying her tears out with Taiga comforting her.

“So, this is goodbye, huh?” Teppei turned to Ame as if it was their moment.

“No, it’s not. We’ll see each other again” Ame corrected, holding his hand. “We’ll meet again” she smiled encouragingly.

“Y-Yeah…” he smiled back. With that, they gave each other a kiss again before Ame and Kyo made their way to the airport.

“You know it’s okay to cry” Yoite spoke as they were already riding on the airplane. Awkwardly, she was seated with Ame on the plane and they haven’t talked until Yoite broke the silence. “I know how it feels to leave someone you love”

Ame sat there quietly, looking at her hands as something dropped on them, wet. It was her tears. “Damn it, just when I thought I wasn’t going to cry”

“You can’t do that. You were always a cry baby” Yoite pointed out. She talks like her daughter. Now we know where Ame got her rudeness.

“Shut up, Yoite. Like you weren’t like this when oto-san left…” Ame sneered wiping her eyes.

“Yeah. You look exactly the same when Toshi left. Only thing different is you’re the one leaving”

“Tch”

“It’s okay” Yoite held her daughter’s hand as she stared at it eyes widened. The mother gave a sad smile. “I’ll cry with you. We can cry together”

(A/N: Guys, I made this thing up! The Seirin VS Rakuzan isn’t done yet in the manga, so this isn’t what really happened, okay?)

“I don’t feel like a winner at all” Kotaro pointed out after the Rakuzan game. He had approached Teppei as soon as they heard the buzzer. “Nice game” he offered a handshake to Teppei who was breathing heavily out of exhaustion. He accepted and shook hands with Kotaro.

“I don’t understand what you just said, but congratulations” was his reply.

Kotaro smirked. “Hana was quiet right about you. You can be quite an airhead”

“Tch, like she didn’t say the same about you” Teppei retort with a pout. Remembering Ame made him smile. “I wonder how she is.” He wondered.

Deep inside, he was sad. He was sad that she and Ame had to be parted from each other. A part of him was afraid that she’d forget him again like before but he was confident she wouldn’t.

Riko saw the look on his face which made her slap his head with a paper fan. “What are you mopping for, you idiot? If Ame-san was here, she’d punch you so hard when she sees that face of yours”

“Ah, sorry about that Riko. I was just thinking” he scratched the back of his head.

“Don’t worry, she won’t forget about you” Riko assured and smiled.

.           .           .

The airplane has landed on their destined country with some of the passengers still asleep. Including Ame. Kyo and the others already stood up to get their bags as she went over to their seats to wake Ame up.

“Ame-ne wake up—”

“T-Teppei…” Ame spoke in her sleep as her head lay on her mother’s shoulders.

‘She really loves him…’ Kyo smiled warmly at her sister. ‘I’m glad. I’m glad I dragged him with us the morning you met him. Because…’

.           .           .

“How could she forget? You’re the one who turned her cold heart to iron like yours” Riko smirked, pointing the obvious.

Taiga gave Teppei a nod and soon the others agree.

“Tep-chan’s iron heartedness affected Hana’s!” Reo cheered draping his arm around Junpei’s shoulders

“That’s right!” Kotaro grinned. “Thank you for that, Kiyoshi Teppei”

Teppei looked at them astounded and flattered at the same time. “Yeah, you’re right” he finally agreed that he was indeed, the one who turned Ame’s cold heart to iron like his.
