Ame’s POV

Dinner was awkward. Really awkward. Let me stress the word awkward. Because it really was… awkward. And I was the only feeling it. I don’t know what Teppei was thinking or feeling but the only thing I know, is that whenever we locked our eyes, my heart seems to beat faster than usual. And unfortunately, I can’t avoid his gaze because we’re just sitting across each other. Damn it.

“Ame-ne, you’re not touching your food” Kyo spoke up when I was just staring at the dish placed in front of me.

“I’m… not hungry” was my reason and glanced at her. She raised an eyebrow. “Why? Did you eat junk foods before dinner again?!” Kyo’s voice rose when she assumed that. Well you can’t blame Kyo. I do that a lot. Eating junk food or sweets before dinner. And that’s when I lose my appetite. But now… I didn’t even eat, yet…

“She already had dessert Kyo” Tetsuya spoke up making my head shot at him. D-Dessert?! I gave him a super annoyed glare which he didn’t mind and glanced at Teppei. “Kiyoshi-senpai, are you not hungry too?” THAT’S IT! I’m going to squeeze his head until it bursts!

My hand collided with the table as I stood up. I didn’t even realize everyone was staring at me. Well, I look stupid. “I’m going to bed” I announce to escape the stare Kyo, Tetsuya and Teppei was giving me. Each had different expressions. But I just ignored it and locked myself in my room and hide myself under the covers. What the hell just happened today? Damn it… I’ll just sleep…

NEXT DAY.

“Ame-ne wake up!”

No…

“C’mon it’s another training day~”

Why do you sound cheerful today, Kyo?”

“We get to be with the team and Kiyoshi-senpai~”

We’re always with them every day…

“And also, I get to share what Kuroko-kun told me yesterday~”

Kuroko… Tetsuya told you yesterday? WAIT WHAT—“KYO!” I sat up from my bed to be greeted by a playful smile from her.

“What is it?” she smiled at me, while taking my blanket and folding it. Dang it’s cold. “You should wash up and go get breakfast” Her smile made me uncomfortable. What did Tetsuya tell her yesterday?

“Hey Kyo—” I was about to ask her about what Tetsuya told her but she already slammed the door loudly, leaving me startled here. Is she mad that I didn’t tell her?

“You’re up early than usual” Kagetora said as soon as he saw me walk in the gym.

“Kyo” I said hinting to the reason of my early rise from my beloved bed-kun. I miss him already. No one can deny our love for each other. Kagetora chuckled and stared at the court.

“It’s true that you’re a mixture of Yoite and Toshi” he said out of nowhere and glanced at me. “Your dad always had that look whenever your mother wakes him up whenever we have to train in the International Tournament” Really? I think I remember him mentioning it once to me.

“I’ve heard” I replied and looked at the court. “How did those two ended up getting married anyway? It’s useless since they have to divorce anyway”

“Well some unexpected things are bound to happen. And some good things just disappear only to bring bad things. And vice versa” I raised an eyebrow at his statement. “How can bad things bring good things back?” I questioned. That’s just stupid.

“I didn’t say bad things can bring good things back. damn it, you do have your mother’s intellect, but you can be an idiot like your father sometimes” what does that mean?! “What I mean is, some good things are made out of bad things that had happened”

“What do you mean?”

“Please stop being like your father right now”

“WHY YOU!!!”

He sighed. “For example, people who were hurt become stronger. Because of a painful thing that happened to them, it’s made them stronger in a way. Something like that”

Oh.

“But I’m not saying that it always happens ye’ know”

“Yeah, yeah, I get it now” I wave it off and noticed the gym was empty in players. “Ne, where are the brats?” I asked the reason for their absence and grabbed the ball that rolled to my feet because of Nigou. I twirled it on my index finger.

“I let them run around the mountains for today. They need to flex their muscles even more” he replied as I knelt down to scoop Nigou in my arms. He’s fluffy.

“Fartlek I see” I recognize his training style. Three hours passed by and the brats came back all sweaty and tired. All were panting and pretty exhausted so Kagetora gave them a two minute break. I watched them get to their water bottles and towels take a short break and looked over to the door where Coach just walked in. I walked over to her.

“Ne, coach, can I ask a favor?”

Kyo’s POV

“Good work” I handed Kuroko-kun his towel as he sat beside me while breathing heavily. Kagetora-san’s training is even tougher than Aida-senpai’s. But I bet if Ame-ne were to train them, it would be a living hell. Actually, I kinda miss watching Ame-ne train a team. Last time she did that, it was with Kotaro-nee, Reo-nee and Eikichi-nee. She was a strict teacher but you can see in her eyes that she believes in her team.

“A-Ame-san, what’s up with that whistle?” I heard Tsuchida-senpai asked my sister as she stepped in the middle before blowing her whistle.

“Your question is like asking a vegetarian why he isn’t eating meat” Ame-ne sassed back and put her hand on her hip and the other one to point at senpai. “It’s obvious that I’m going to coach you from now on!” What? I blinked trying to suppress the announcement she suddenly burst out. Coach the team?

Everyone’s jaw dropped and they looked shocked. Even Kagetora-san and Kiyoshi-senpai. Coach seemed relaxed so I guess Ame-ne already talked to her about it. “Yeah, Kage will assist me. Do you have any complaints about that? Huh brats?!” she shouted making everyone flinch and nod.

“Then please take care of us!” they chorused and bowed. I was still pretty startled because of Ame-ne coaching them all of a sudden.

“Ano, Kyo, do you have an idea why Ame-senpai suddenly wanted to coach us?” Kuroko-kun suddenly asked me.

I gave him a shrug. “Sorry, even it’s news to me” a silence suddenly followed and I and Kuroko-kun suddenly connected eye contact.

“Could it be because of…?” we said simultaneously and stopped when Ame-ne suddenly walked over to us. She had her scary smile on.

“Kuroko-kun, I’m pretty concerned about you today. It seems that you’ll be having trouble with the training I’m about to give to you” I don’t know why but her creepy smile and tone of voice gave chills to me and Kuroko-kun. Is she threatening us or something? Brrr…

“Amei-chan” Kiyoshi-senpai suddenly approached as I saw my sister flinch. K-Kyaaa! Try not to fangirl here! “Are you… are you okay now?” Yes of course she’s okay! She’s with you! >W<

“A-Ano… about yesterday…” eeeeeepppp…. She’s opening up the topic!!! “D-Don’t tell anyone about it—” Too late, Ame-ne.

“Eh? Sorry Amei-chan, but I already told Hyuga about it”

“WHAT?!”

“I explained it to Kuroko-kun too” I admit raising my hand. Ame-ne’s head shot at me.

“K-Kyo!” she seems flustered about it.

I smiled at her warmly.

“Ame-san, papa already told me so it’s okay” even Coach knows… Ame-ne looked at her surprised before her eyes softened. She sighed and looked at the team, still conscious about eye contact to them.

“Well then, I guess it can’t be helped. Let’s just start” she says and blew her whistle assembling the players.

“All right!” Kiyoshi-senpai draped his arm around Ame-ne’s shoulder like he always does as I caught sight of a blush appearing on Ame-ne’s cheek. I guess she’s already fallen for him. ^_^ it’s the same look I saw when she was still in love with Kotaro-nee. But I get a feeling that this love is better…

Either way, I think her heart is in good hands. Take care of her, senpai.

Well here I am, being a typical badass. I'm not supposed to be updating right now since my mom forbids it but yeah... I'm a sneaker. And it's also exam day but whatever... haha
