Ame’s POV

“Yippee!” Kyo squealed in happiness after we won our first match in the Winter Cup. I watch the team celebrate on their first win while I just sat on the bench looking bored. Isn’t it too early to celebrate? Besides, they have a looooong way to go if they want to participate in the Winter Cup, officially. Teppei approached me and rose up his hand while I just stared at him. Is he waving hi or something?

I held out my palm and to my surprise, he gave me a high five. “We did, Amei-chan!” he gave me a bright smile.

“Uh… y-yeah…” I murmured. I didn’t do much though… I just gave them tips about the opponent…

TIMESKIP~

“Ame-ne, don’t stuff too much food in your mouth!” then again, Kyo scolded me. -___- why isn’t she scolding Kagami who’s doing worse than me! -.- everyone in the team looked at me then laughed as Kyo threw a tissue at my face. “Wipe that off!” yes mistress -__-

I grabbed the tissue and wiped off the stain from my mouth and glared at Kyo. She just ate beside Kagami who’s mysteriously eating with his left hand. I blinked several times before remembering what I told him when we I asked him to buy drinks for the team and I ran after him.

FLASHBACK

“Oi Kagami wait up, you’re going to fast!” I said as I ran by his side.

“A-Araki-senpai!” I saw him get startled for a bit, but not as startled whenever Kuroko does it.

“You know you could just call me by my first name” I told him. He nodded. “Hai! Ame-senpai!” I could tell he’s nervous around me… “By the way senpai…” I looked at him. “Why asked me to buy drinks for everyone, suddenly?”

Hmmm… why did I? I can’t remember…

“Oh right Kagami!” I remembered as he looked at me attentively. “I want lemon flavoured soda, okay?”

“IS THAT THE WHOLE REASON WHY YOU RAN AFTER ME?!?!?!” he hollered as I flinched.

“You’re so noisy. Everyone at the beach is staring at you T.T” I pointed out. “Anyway, I came here to tell you about the things you should focus on improving” Kagami looked at me, looking interested. “First of all, your leg power; you need to strengthen your legs in order to jump high as you want. Jumping is one of the helpful moves you need in offensive rebound; also, it could in stopping high-ranged shoots. Judging by your record, you already surpassed the average height a high school student can jump from”

Now… what else?

I hummed trying to remember what I want to say and looked at him. “Oh, and learn to jump with your right leg and learn how to use your left hand” I gave him a thumbs up.

END OF FLASHBACK~

“Oi!” I heard him yell and then a broccoli suddenly jumped on my face.

Wtf… -_____-

“E-Eh…”

“S-Senpai…”

“KAGAMI!” I shouted at him and was about to give him a good punch at the head when Kyo and Teme grabbed me and brought me back to my seat. Oh come on, am I the only one allowed to get whacked at?!

“Relax Amei-chan…” Teme patted my head then wiped my nose with a tissue. “There, the broccoli left a sauce on your face so I wiped it for you”

I blinked at it him for a while and touched my nose. “Thanks” I scratched my nose looking away from him. “Hey, can I go home now?”

Coach looked a bit startled at my sudden request but didn’t argue with me since the team has no plans after this. “I’ll see you at home, Kyo” I said stood up and left the restaurant without saying goodbye. I mean, it’s not like we won’t see each other tomorrow. 

Gahhh… I want to go home and rest -____-

Kyo’s POV

Ame-ne -__- she didn’t even say goodbye to the team! Very rude =3= Kiyoshi-senpai was even staring at her the whole time! That girl… -__-

I suddenly remembered seeing a flyer of street ball and showed it to my fellow freshman who hasn’t got a chance to play in games. I gave Furihata-kun the flyer and he seems to be enthusiastic about it. He showed it to Kawahara-kun and Fukuda-kun and they asked coach if they could go. She seems sceptical about it at first but I and Kiyoshi-senpai insisted. She agreed afterwards, but only allowed the freshmen.

NEXT DAY~

“So, what are you doing here?!” Kagami-kun shouted at Kiyoshi-senpai who came to join us freshmen at street ball today. “And even her?!” he also pointed at Ame-ne who I also dragged along with since no one will take care of her at home. Yes, you read that right. She needs someone to take care of her at home. ‘Cause you know why?

One time I left her alone at home for 15 minutes to buy something at the convenience store and when I got back; the whole house was a disaster! She said accidentally spilled the pasta at the kitchen counter and when she got the mop, she forget to rinse it thoroughly and it dripped dirty water around the house! And she “accidentally” knocked over the bookshelf making it worse by papers flying around the house! You know what’s really worse? She left the microwave with a canned good in it because she doesn’t know how to use a stupid can opener… -___-

Seriously, she can do that in less than 15 minutes.

“It’s not like they’re forbidden here, Kagami-kun” I stated matter-of-factly and noticed we’re incomplete. “Where’s Kawahara-kun?”

“Oh, he called in sick today” Fukuda informed us before Kiyoshi senpai threw his arms around their shoulder and ruffled their hair.

“Then the number of players is even” he said with a big smile on his face.

We went to list our names when we heard someone yell at his teammate. Hey, wait a minute… I know that name… we turned our heads to see: “Seiho?!” our team exclaimed while pointing at the team who was also pointing at us. “SEIRIN?!” they yelled back. Oh, right! Seiho and Seirin played against each other during the Inter High! ^_^

“Hey, Kyo… I’ll go get something drink…” Ame-ne asked permission from me before turning her back at me.

“Wait” she stopped on her tracks when she heard my voice. I held out my palm. “Give me your PSP” I ordered her as she flinched.

“Why…?”

“Because who knows if you’d go home? I need something that could bring you back here”

She turned her head to me hesitantly to meet my scary glare and gave me her PSP. She gave me that pout of hers and sharply turned away and stomped her away to her whereabouts. Seriously -__-

Ame’s POV

Kyo took my PSP again TT^TT seriously! I woke up early in the morning just to watch these brats play street ball? I don’t even like street ball… well, I used to watch when I was a kid but something happened so… I refuse to go back to watching it. Kyo knows that, but for some reason, she always wants me to tag along.

I went to the nearest vending machine that’s just beside a bench and sat on it after getting a drink. There was someone sitting beside me but I didn’t mind him before he called my name. “Ame” I turned my head to see…

Wait… who’s he again?

“It’s nice to see you again” he smiled at me.

Oh!!!

“Himuro” I called his name. Wow, I can’t believe I remember him. Hmm, there’s this question going in my head since I saw him yesterday when he mentioned he’s in my aunt’s team. “Wait, why are you in Tokyo? Isn’t Yosen in Akita?”

“Ah, well, I just got here from America so I asked a friend of mine to tour me around Tokyo” he explained as I nodded and took a sip of my drink. Wait, so he’s American? Why is he talking in Japanese? He looks like a western citizen. I mean, he has really white skin and his looks tell me he’s quite a ladies man.

“So does this means, you’re a foreigner?” I asked.

He chuckled softly before answering me. “No, I’m not. I was just raised in America but I’m pure Japanese” he explained.

“Oh…” I muttered and stared up the sky. I really hate the damn sun right now.

“By the way, what brings you here?” Himuro asked me. Kyo brought me here. I was mumbling curses making this dude look at me curiously. “Ame?”

“Well, my sister and team went here to play street ball. She happens to tag me along because she didn’t trust me with the house…” -___- “Wait; does my aunt even know you’re here?”

“You know you can just call me Tatsuya. I’m not used to be called by my last name” Right he was raised in an American way…

“Fine then, Tatsuya”

“Anyway, don’t worry about Coach. I told her I’ll go back before this day ends so she doesn’t have to worry”

“Hmm…” there was an awkward silence between us for a while. I tried to find something interesting around the area. But no… there’s nothing interesting around the real world. Just, bullcrap… I suddenly remembered what that big idiot saying he’d show me the beauty of the world. Wonder how he is doing with that… show me beauty… Pfft, good luck looking for beauty around here. Seriously, if he could just be normal, and quit bugging me; and his efforts won’t be wasted. In the first place, why does he even bother with me? It’s not like we’re friends or something. I’ll wait for the time when you accept me as a friend, and when that happens, I want to make your cold heart melt like mine, and see you smile! Oh right… that time hasn’t come yet…

Great.

Now he’s given me the burden of deciding when that time will happen. And why am I even reconsidering it?!It’s not like that will ever happen! No Ame! You promised yourself you’ll never make friends again!

“Ame?” Tatsuya snapped me out of my thoughts. I found myself unconsciously ruffling my hair with Tatsuya and two other guys staring at me like I was crazy. Oh great, they’re giving me that ‘I’m judging you’ stare. “Are you okay?”

I gulped. “Y-Yeah. Don’t mind me. So, what’s going on?”

“These guys are inviting me to join their team in street ball because they’re one man short. I was asking you if you wanted to tag along since I don’t want to leave you here alone” Wow, nice. Gentleman, are we? “Do you want to go with me?” Should I? Well, it’s not like I have other plans. Besides, I don’t know where Kyo and the others are. And I didn’t bring my phone with me. Bleh.

“Sure, why not” I replied and he smiled at me. “Let’s go then”

Author’s POV

“Amei-chan seems to taking a while” Teppei noticed that Ame’s gone for a while now. Kyo looked around the area but didn’t see her sister anywhere. She got her cell phone and called her sister but received no answer, making her worry more. She stared at it with a concerned look and stood up.

“I’m going to look for Ame-ne” she announced and ran off around the park to look for Ame. “Eh, what about our game?” Furihata said with a disagreeing tone.

“Just go without me” Kyo said, slinging her bag around her shoulder. “I’ll find her first then head straight to your game” with that, Kyo went ahead to find her sister.

“You think she’ll be alright?” Taiga looked concerned as Tetsuya glance at him. “Should we go after them?” Teppei suggested.

“Don’t worry, they’ll be alright” Fukuda assured with a smile. The two didn’t seem to convince at all until Tetsuya spoke up, suspicious about their feelings towards the two siblings. “If you want to follow them, then it’s okay. Our game wouldn’t be starting immediately. There’s still one game before ours” he mentioned. “Besides, you two look really concerned about them. Do you have special feelings towards the two of them?

Teppei and Taiga flinched a sweat running down their cheek.

“W-What are you talking about Kuroko? I-I’m concerned of Amei-chan because we’re friends! Nothing special!”

“Don’t be ridiculous, Kuroko”

“If you say so…” Tetsuya didn’t sound convinced but just brush it off; because just by seeing their reactions is enough. He already knew what’s going on. And the two of them were easy to be read. ‘They’re terrible in hiding their feelings’ he thought.
