Seriously? Shopping?!
The whole walk back to their house was quiet. Kyo didn’t know what happened since she and Taiga walked a few meters after them, not able to hear their conversation earlier. The Araki sisters reached their home and Ame didn’t bother to say goodbye to Teppei. But he still called her. “Amei-chan, wait a minute!” he called.
The cold hearted girl manages to stop after hearing her name and so did Kyo who was now at the door. The younger girl turned her head to Teppei but her sister didn’t. “Kyo, go inside” Ame ordered sternly with a hard stare. Kyo didn’t say anything and quietly closed the door. Teppei gave Taiga the look that he should go and so he did.
“What do you want?” Ame asked turning slightly at him.
“Amei-chan… what you said earlier, what does it mean?” he responded her question with a question.
Ame put a hand on her hip. “It’s obvious Teme. I’m a cold hearted person. I don’t care about other people’s feelings or their efforts. I simply ignore the things around me, and don’t give a shit about it. I do that to people who deserve it”
“What about me, Amei-chan? Do I deserve all that treatment? Your act of coldness towards me?”
“It’s my normal act towards people, you idiot” Ame looked away. “In any case, you don’t deserve this treatment so I suggest you just stay away from me”
“I don’t think that’ll work” Ame gave him a look but he just smiled. “Because whatever happens, I’ll never give up on you Amei-chan. I’ll wait for the time when you’ll start to accept me as you friend and when that happens, I want to make your cold heart melt like mine and see you smile! ^_^”
“Uh…” Ame didn’t know what to say and faced her back at him. “Whatever. Good luck with that, idiot” she spat and went inside their house, slamming the door shut. She looked up the ceiling processing the words and held her heart. ‘Melt my heart…? Tch. Yeah right’ Ame faced towards the hallway and saw Kyo smiling at her.
“By the looks of it, I think Kiyoshi-senpai’s done with step 1” Kyo said as Ame quirked an eyebrow. Kyo just shook her head bubbly and went upstairs while humming a happy tune. “Oh and Ame-ne” Kyo stopped half way the stairs. “Tomorrow we won’t have any practice but you still have to wake up early”
“How come?” Ame questioned.
“Let’s just say, the two of us will be going at some place”
“Hmph, if you say so…”
NEXT DAY.
“Hey Kyo…”
“What is it, Ame-ne?”
“You told me the two of us will be going at some place, didn’t you?”
“Yeah…”
“Then why…” Ame paused and pointed at the crowd beside them while waiting for the train to stop at some station. “WHY ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE WITH US?!?!?!” she referred to the Seirin team who was just beside them.
“Stop yelling, people are looking at you” Kyo reminded with a weirded out face.
“You tell me! You told me it’s just the two of us?! And then they show up?!?!” Ame ranted with anger as Kyo handed her PSP. “You little—Ah, Johnny~” Ame calmed down as soon as the device was in her hands. It’s been a while since she last played otome games because of the training she was attending. And Kyo had to confiscate it from her so she could focus on the team.
“Is her PSP the only thing that could calm her down?” Junpei commented with a sweat drop at Ame. Riko shrugged beside him and turned forward as soon as the train stopped in front of them. They took a 30 minute train ride until it stopped at a district in Tokyo which Kyo always buy stuff from every shopping day she have with their oldest sister.
“What are we doing here?” Taiga asked, stepping forward towards Kyo.
She flinched and moved away a bit before answering. “W-Well, I asked Aida-senpai if she could go and shop with me for Christmas stuff since December’s coming and we really need decorating in our house”
“S-Shopping?” Taiga asked in disbelief. “Then what are we doing here?!”
“I-I-I don’t know >///< I just invited Ame-ne and Aida-senpai, and was surprised she brought you guys with her!” Kyo stuttered covering herself from him, scared.
“Kagami-kun, you shouldn’t yell at girls like that” Tetsuya appeared out nowhere scaring them again.
“That’s right Kagami-kun! And it was my idea to bring you all dorks here!” Aida defended Kyo pointing at the Seirin Ace. All of the players looked at her curiously. “I wanted to shop tons of stuff for the training and since it’s YOUR training, I thought that you’d be the ones carrying it!”
“Why us?!”
“BAKA!” Riko kicked Taiga. “I just told you it’s for your training! Besides, carrying tons of shopping bags is good for your arm muscles. It could be a use of training” she said matter-of-factly. “Right, Ame-san?”
“Well if it means of them suffering, then yes. It could build your wimpy arms some muscles”
“SO MEAN!”
“Anyway, let’s get this started!” Kyo cheered.
TIMESKIP~
“Hmm… that reindeer could make a great décor for the living room…”
“This heavy-weight basketball could be great help…”
“Can we go to the video game store now?”
Kyo and Riko were still shopping for some stuff while the boys seated at the waiting bench with Ame who was whining to go to the gamin store to buy new games for her PSP.
“Stop your whining Ame-ne, I and Aida-senpai isn’t done yet!” Kyo scolded her and picked up the reindeer statue.
“How long are you going to take in shopping?!?!” Ame hollered with a vein pop. She blew at her bangs and slouched in the couch, without playing on her PSP. Kyo only installed only one game in her device which she finished and now considered herself gameless. “I want to go to the gamin store now!”
“If you want to go badly then go ahead! No one’s stopping you!” Kyo spat annoyed.
“Fine!” Ame huffed and stood up from the bench, leaving them there.
“Hmm… the gaming store eh? Hey Fukuda-kun, Kawahara-kun, want to go check out this new game released?” Furihata thought, and told his two close friends.
“New game released?”
“PS3?”
The two grinned and nodded. “Sure!” they all stood up from the bench and ran after Ame. “Araki-senpai! Wait for us!” they chorused. “Since we’re shopping, I might as well buy stuff for myself” Izuki stood up when Junpei called him. “What store are you going to?” the captain asked. “The book store” “I’ll go with you. My butt’s starting to hurt”
Junpei stood up from the bench and went with Izuki. He paused then turned to Teppei. “Aren’t you going to follow Ame?” he questioned as the brunette flinched realizing he just watched the raven haired girl disappear from his sight.
“Ah, well… it’s best if I don’t bother her with her games” he just reasoned as Junpei raised an eyebrow.
“Don’t bother her with her games? Shouldn’t you think about that before talking to her?” the clutch captain pointed making Teppei flinch again and scratch his cheek sheepishly.
“Whatever…”
Meanwhile…
“Huwah! It’s the new released game of Sword Art Online!” Ame’s ears perked up when she heard the three freshmen speak about the anime she loved. She sneaked behind the three who was holding the game and peeked behind them. “You know about SAO?” they all jumped when they heard her speak, surprised of her presence.
“Ah! Araki-senpai!” they chorused. “Well, we watched the whole season of the anime so yeah…” Ame patted their shoulder proudly. “You’ve done well in your life, young ones…” they all sweat dropped at her weird behaviour as she proceeded buying more stuff.
“Hmm… I should buy a DVD of High school of the dead…” she murmured to herself when she saw the DVD she was looking for and brightened up. ‘High school of the dead complete DVD~~’ she was about to reach it when someone beat her to it. “HEY!”
“Oh sorry, were you going to get this?” said the guy who already took the DVD she wanted.
“Eh, never mind… I’ll find a new one…” she grumbled when the guy beside her recognized her.
“Wait, aren’t you the coach’s niece, Ame?”
“Huh? And who’re you?”
“Tatsuya Himuro”
. . .
“What book are you going to buy anyway, huh, Izuki?” Junpei questioned as the Seirin point guard looked for a certain book. He lightened up when he saw it and raised it as if a priest raising the bible at a church. “OI IZUKI!”
“Huh, what? Oh, sorry Hyuga, I was just occupied by this” Izuki said and showed the book.
“I said what book are you going to—WTF?!” Junpei exclaimed after seeing the book Izuki wanted to have. “A JOKE BOOK?! SERIOUSLY?!”
“They already released volume 108!”
“I don’t give a damn! I regret coming with you!”
. . .
“Hmmm… what colour of a winter dress should you think I should buy, Kagami-kun?” Kyo was at the outfits section choosing a winter dress and couldn’t pick. She asked Taiga for his opinion who just watch her boreldy and uninterested.
“I don’t know. Just go ahead and pick”
“I can’t pick any!”
“That’s not my problem!”
“Kagami-kun, help me!”
“No!”
. . .
“Hyuga-kun, you’re back. Where’s Izuki-kun?” Riko asked Junpei who had an annoyed expression when he rejoined the team. Mitobe, Koganei and Tsuchida were having a hard time carrying the shopping bags of Riko who were secretly asking him for some help but he ignored them.
“I don’t know. He disappeared of to his joke book heaven” Junpei replied as Riko sweat dropped at his response.
“Right…” she trailed off. “Anyway, how many pounds of weight should I buy for the weighted wrist bands? 10 or 15?”
“ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL US?!” Junpei’s jaw dropped.
. . .
“Kiyoshi-senpai, where are we going?” Tetsuya asked who was walking alongside with Teppei.
“Ah, I was just wondering if Amei-chan needed help with the stuff’s she’s going to buy. Maybe she needs help in the carrying” Teppei smiled. “You know her and her games”
“I understand” Tetsuya replied bluntly.
. . .
“Did you buy the game you guys wanted?” Fukuda asked his two friends.
“Yeah!” Furihata answered.
“I can’t wait to play this when I get home!” Kawahara exclaimed.
“Hey brats, are you all set to go?” Ame appeared as the freshmen’s jaw dropped. “5 shopping bags of games?!?!?!” they exclaimed in disbelief but the girl seemed pretty cool about it.
“Chill, it’s just half of it” Tatsuya appeared carrying 5 more shopping bags.
“Eh? Who’s he, senpai?” Furihata asked, pointing at the emo-looking guy.
“Well, he plays in my aunt’s team, Yosen, so we’re quite acquainted. What’s your name again?” Ame asked for his identity.
“It’s Tatsuya Himuro” he repeated. “Um… my friend’s waiting for my right now, so if I could leave this stuff to you, I should go…”
“Oh, just let the brats carry them”
“EH?!”
“Arigatou” the next thing they knew, heavy weight of shopping bags almost crushed their arms as they fell on the floor. Tatsuya made his leave at the same time Teppei and Tetsuya arriving at the store. “Amei-chan” Teppei approached Ame. “Do you need some help with that?”
“Sure” Ame handed the bags to him and left them there.
“Um… Furihata-kun, Fukuda-kun, Kawahara-kun are you okay?” Tetsuya asked looking down at his three fellow freshies on the ground.
“We’re okay…”
. . .
“Are we all complete?” Riko checked on everyone.
“Hai!” they all chorused. Ame didn’t answer and just played on her PSP while Teppei stared at her. “You seem to enjoy Ame-ne in sight” Kyo whispered at his ear teasingly. He suddenly blushed and looked at Kyo who was smiling at him mischievously. “K-Kyo-chan…”
The train door opened as Ame walked ahead with the team, and Kyo and Teppei behind them. “It’s not like I always stare at her…” Teppei reasoned.
“Yeah it does…” Kyo insisted. “Just admit it, senpai”
Teppei gulped and glanced at Ame while his cheeks showed a hint of colour red. “I don’t want to yet…”
