Turkish Delight

It was Edmund's first birthday since he and his siblings returned from their first adventure in Narnia.
"Happy birthday, Edmund!" Said Peter, as he handed his brother a wrapped package.
"Happy birthday!" Susan and Lucy joined in.
Edmund tore the paper off of the president. But his smile faded when he saw a box of Turkish Delight.
"What's wrong, Ed, I thought that Turkish Delight was your favorite?" Said Peter.
"It was." Edmund replied. "But when we went to Narnia, the white witch gave me enchanted Turkish Delight."
"But this Turkish Delight isn't enchanted." Said Susan.
"I know," Edmund replied. "I just can't do it."
"We understand." Said Lucy.
"Thank you." Edmund replied. "Would you like some?"
"Thank you." Said Peter taking a piece.
Susan and Lucy took a piece too.
"Now we don't have a present for Edmund." Said Lucy.
"That's Okay, I appreciate the thought." Edmund answered.
"Actually, we do." Said Peter. "I made something for you."
Edmund smiled. He wondered what his brother could have made for him.
"Close your eyes." Said Peter.
Edmund closed his eyes.
Peter went to fetch something from the other room. "Hold out your hands." He told Edmund as he returned.
Edmund cupped his hands in front of him.
"Hold your hands flat." Peter instructed.
Edmund held his hands flat. He felt his brother place something in his hands.
"Open your eyes." Said Peter.
Edmund opened his eyes to see a wooden sword. He could see the lines where his brother had carved it out of a piece of wood.
"Now you can practice your sword fighting skills." Said Peter. "In case we get to go back."
"Thanks, Peter." Said Edmund.
"You're welcome, Ed." Said Peter, giving his brother a hug.
Susan and Lucy joined in the hug. "Happy birthday, Edmund." They said.
