Hearing a strange sound coming from the t.v.didn't startle me but two  things did
First, I didn't switch on the t.v., and
Second no one's at home to do it either.

Hearing a strange sound from the other side of the phone call from a friend, made me run down to her house ...only to be greeted with a voice that whispered in my ear
"You're Late!!!"

Hearing a strange sound along the dark corridor and a huge reflection adjacent to me on the wall, which moved when I moved, stopped when I stopped, and when I raised my hand to touch, it pulled me inside the wall.
