Here's chapter 2! Hope you like it, please review!!!

"Kathyyyyyyyyyy" Stacy whined loudly, for the hundredth time.

"What is it Stace, I'm trying to finish my hom- Would you stop poking me?!" Kathy said, shouting out the last part at Chloe, who rolled her eyes.

"We need to celebrate man, this is your first crush after all!!" Chloe said, smirking at Kathy's blush. "Besides, we don't have classes tomorrow till 11, 'cause it's Tuesday!"

"I- just- GAH! You girls are hopeless, so I'm not gonna even bother to put some sense in that sad excuse for a brain you two have" Kathy growled, making Chloe and Stacy burst into peals of laughter.

"Fiiiiine" Kathy dragged out. "Let me just finish the essay we got in Vulcan Studies, then we can go wherever you guys want me to go."

Her friends began to laugh again, confusing Kathy. "What" Kathy said cautiously, "What did I say?"

The girls continued to laugh, making the brunette huff and ignore her friends.

"Okay, I'm ready. Let's go" Kathy said, adjusting her uniform and grabbing her and her friends' duffel bags. Stacy's jaw dropped, whereas Chloe sighed in exasperation.

"What- seriously?!" Chloe huffed out. Kathy's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she looked at her reflection.

"I guess I'll just remove the lip gloss..." She muttered. Stacy threw her hands in the air in frustration and Chloe smacked her forehead.

"What an idiot" Chloe mumbled darkly, rolling her blue eyes.

"Just- you know what, forget it. Just come on now, we are getting late. Maybe next time we could give you some tips" Stacy muttered, her green eyes revealing the frustration that she had carefully hidden from her friends.

"Soooo..." Kathy trailed of, breaking the awkward silence. "Where are we going?"

Stacy sighed and Chloe smacked her forehead- again. She seemed to be doing that a lot these days... "Iowa." Both replied shortly. "A friend of mine works at a pub there, so we will stay overnight at her place." Stacy continued. "So, long story short, we're going to a pub, and getting our sorry asses drunk!" Chloe concluded. Kathy's golden honey brown eyes widened (A/N- just go with this color) comically, as she began to retrace her steps.

Both Stacy and Chloe's eyes also widened as they opened their mouths to say something. But it was to late.

Kathy bumped into a wall- again. She whirled around, her nose bumping into someone's shoulder.

"What the fu... fudge?" Kathy quickly covered up her slip of tongue. She peeked up, seeing that the person she had bumped into around the corner, was Professor Spock.

"Oh, um, Commander!" She squeaked out, standing straight after backing away to put some space between her and her senior.

The only response she got was a raised eyebrow and an 'I expect your essays in my office first thing in the morning tomorrow'.

Kathy let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding, and and caught hold of her smirking friends' arms, dragging them away.

"Shut up shut up shut up..." She mumbled under her breath. "We didn't say anything!" The girls chorused innocently, making Kathy scowl.

"Yeah, but you were thinking." Kathy muttered. "And before you ask, no. I am not Edward Cullen."

This earned her weird looks from her friends. "You know, that sparkly disco ball type of bunny drinking vampire from a movie/book series called The Twilight Saga in the early 21st century?"

Silence.

"You're crazy" Chloe deadpanned. "And weird" Stacy added.

"Which is exactly why you love me" Kathy said with a grin.

...................................................................................................................................

Kathy sat awkwardly in her chair, shifting uncomfortably. Chloe had run of to this guy- Leonard Mcoy, she thought his name was and was flirting shamelessly with him. She was drunk within the first 15 minutes itself. It wasn't because she had low tolerance to alcohol, but it was because she had downed drinks and shots like there was no tomorrow.

Hell, even Stacy was slightly tipsy, and had struck up a conversation with bartenders- one of them being her friend.

The doors whooshed opened as a Star Fleet cadet walked in and stood next to Kathy, her whole aura screaming pride and confidence.

"Hi" She said, flashing a bright smile. "I'd like 2 Budweizers, 3 Kardasian Sunrises, and-" She paused for a moment, scanning the menu, ignoring Kathy's comical, wide- eyed expression.

"A Slusher mix?" Asked the bartender, almost as though he had memorized it all. The cadet flashed another smile, adding a confident thank you.

A blonde came and plonked his elbows on the table, and eyed her across Kathy. Noticing this, the Cadet added, "And a shot of Jack Daniels"

"Make that two" The blonde said, "Her shot's on me." Clearly, judging by the look in hes blue eyes and his behavior, he was drunk.

"Her shot's on her" Uhura corrected, smiling sarcastically at the blonde. "Thanks, but no thanks."

"Could you at least wait to find out my name before you completely reject me?" The blonde said. Hmph. Someone's over confident...

"I'm fine without it" The she- cadet replied with a small laugh, making a small hand gesture when rolling her eyes.

"You're fine without it but I'm not" The blonde said, not liking being rejected. "It's Jim. Jim Kirk." Uhura ignored Jim completely, not saying a word.

"If you don't tell me your name, I'll have to make one up for you" Jim said with a shrug, making the cadet smile at his pathetic attempt to flirt.

"It's Uhura" The cadet said after a moment, giving up on Jim. "Uhura, no way! That was the name I was gonna make up for you!" Jim slurred. Kathy scrunched up her nose in disgust, not liking being stuck between two flirting cadets.

"Uhura what" Jim pestered irritatingly. "Just Uhura" Uhura said shortly. "What, they don't have last names in your world?" Jim asked blandly. "Uhura is my last name" She replied, clearly annoyed.

"So... uh... they don't have first names in your world?" Jim asked stupidly, making Uhura laugh slightly.

Jim picked up his drink and walked around Kathy, leaning on the table and standing awfully close to Uhura. Kathy let out a relieved sigh, thankful for not being stuck between those two.

"So you're a cadet, you're studying, what's your focus?" Jim asked, sounding a bit serious for once. "Xenolinguistics" Uhura shot out, thinking that Jim wont know what it meant.

Kathy raised an eyebrow, impressed. "That's impressing" She said suddenly, diverting the attention towards herself. "It's quite a tricky subject. It's the focus of one of my friends, and I to have it in my time table, so I would know."

"Thanks" Uhura said, grinning slightly. "Uhura. Nice to me you" She extended a hand, which Kathy shook enthusiastically. "Whitlock. Nice to meet you to! I would have told you my first name if Kirk wasn't here." This earned a laugh from Uhura, while Jim smirked at Kathy. "Impressive indeed" Jim added, still smirking.

"You have no idea what it means, do you?" Uhura and Kathy said at the same time before smiling at each other bemusedly.

"It's the study of alien languages" Jim began immediately, making Kathy's eyebrows shoot up. "Morphology, phynology, syntax. It means you've got a talented tongue" Jim said, looking at Uhura's mouth. Kathy, who was sipping at her non- alcoholic drink, took a moment to realize the innuendo. She chocked on her drink, eyes widening slightly as a blush settled on her cheeks. Jim shot Kathy a smirk, making her glare at him. Jim's eyes widened slightly as he took the hint and refocused his attention on Uhura, who pretended to look interested now.

"I'm impressed" Uhura said, facing the blonde. "For a moment there, I thought you were just a dumb hick who only had sex with farm animals." She ended on a stern and sarcastic note, looking at Jim in the eye.

Kathy visibly cringed and blushed, but Uhura decided to ignore it. "Well, not only" Jim joked, looking at Kathy again with a smirk.

Uhura burst out laughing, and the joke made Kathy also smile a bit. "Wow, I'm blinded" Jim said to Kathy flirtily, with reference to her smile. The brunette scowled immediately, making Jim pout. "Aww, don't be that way!"

Uhura began to laugh more, just as a couple of hefty Star Fleet Cadets walked by.

"This townie isn't bothering the two of you, right?" One of them asked, faking concern. Kathy narrowed her eyes, scowling a bit. She hated fakers.

"Oh, beyond belief", Uhura replied. "But it's nothing we can't handle" She added, turning around and grabbing her drink, downing it in one go.

"You could handle me, if that's an invitation" Jim said, openly flirting with Uhura. Kathy wasn't sure if that was an innuendo or not. Knowing this guy, everything he said just had to have an innuendo.

"Hey, you better mind your manners" The cadet said, getting defensive. Maybe it was an innuendo...

"Oh relax, Cupcake" Jim said, clapping the guy's shoulder. Kathy had to control her laughter at the nick name, but soon sobered down, realizing that this would not end well. "It was a joke." Jim added, turning around.

'Cupcake' caught him by the collar and spun him around, looking pissed off. "Hey, farm boy" he began, "maybe you can't count, but there are four of us, and one of you."

"So get some more guys, and it will be an even fight." Jim stated as he patted 'Cupcake''s cheek and turned around.

Many things happened at once. 'Cupcake' punched Jim in the face, knocking him into some glasses, making his lip bleed. Everyone turned to look at what was happening, while Uhura hissed at the boys to stop. Kathy rose from her seat, alert. She wasn't a good fighter, and had a poor stamina. She was quite short to, about 5'4, which was an advantage and a disadvantage. Her only strength was her observation skills and quick wit.

Jim turned around, his eyes showing his anger. His ego was bruised, and as Cupcake came to punch him again, Jim kicked it in the stomach, knocking him into one of the tables and chairs, effectively breaking them.

One of Cupcake's friends came forth to punch Jim, who immediately blocked his punches with his arms, and punched him, sending him flying into the table where Chloe and Mcoy were making out. They pulled apart, looking a bit confused, before realizing what was happening, and watched the seen unfold. Chloe and Stacy were carefully observing what was going on, worried sick for their friend, yet at the same time wanting to see who would win.

Another cadet rushed forward, and punched Jim in the face, when he was to busy smirking at the ogling girls who had gathered around. Kathy gritted her teeth and walked forward, shoving an already stumbling Jim out of her way. He went and landed on Uhura, his hands on her boobs, smirking lightly. Uhura late out an angry growl and slapped him before pushing him away.

Meanwhile, Kathy had gathered up enough courage. "Stay out of this girl, or we will not hesitate to punch you to" the cadet said. Kathy, being the feminist she was, was even more pissed as she began to move forward to punch him in the face. He ducked out of the way, giving Kathy the perfect opportunity to knee him in the chest, sending him flying to the floor out of surprise.

Another cadet had gotten hold of Jim when he stumbled away from Uhura, and had punched him in the face. Kathy stepped aside to avoid crashing into Jim, who was then held by another cadet. One of them grabbed her hands from the behind and held them over her chest, like a cage. Kathy smirked lightly. "Hands like a Houdini" She whispered, confusing the cadet. She flattened her palms and jutted her hip backwards, shoving him away using her hands and hips, with surprising force. The cadet stumbled slightly, looking dazed. What she didn't notice was one of the Captains staring at the fight with interest.

Kathy turned to see Jim getting beaten up royally. He was being held by one cadet, while the other kicked him in the stomach. The cadet went to punch Jim, but he moved his head aside. The cadet holding Jim groaned and loosened his grip on Jim, who shot out of his grasp like a wild bull. He grabbed onto a beer bottle and smashed it against the head of the cadet in front of him, who promptly fell.

A cadet went to hit him with chair. Kathy immediate grabbed hold of the raised weapon, yanking it out of the cadet's grasp, effectively breaking it. The glass pieces shattered, and fell, some of them cutting her. Before he could turn, she jumped on him, wrapping her legs around his torso and began to choke him. The cadet screamed a bit, and reached out to grab Kathy. Before he could even touch her, Kathy jabbed at certain points on his arms, making them fall limply by his side. She punched the back of his head, and hopped off him before he fell.

She was cut and bruised, but that did not stop her. She whirled around, seeing the shadow of one of the cadets, and kneed him in the crotch, making him fall down. Jim was now lying across the table, being punched by Cupcake. Kathy let out a growl and stormed over, and hit the area near his shoulder blade with a chopping motion. Cupcake's eyes rolled back as he fell to the ground motionless, just as Kathy stepped aside to avoid being flattened by his weight.

The cadets began to surround the two, ready to beat them up again. Someone whistled loudly, making everyone turn. A man in an Captain's uniform stood there with a stern expression. He looked a bit old, and the hair by his ears was white and grey. Everyone backed down, intimidated by his powerful aura.

Kathy grabbed a random person's beer bottle and downed the entire thing. Stacy and Chloe, who had sobered a bit by now, looked shocked. This was the first time Kathy had ever drunk. She slammed the bottle down and wipe her mouth in an un- ladylike manner. The sound echoed, and the admiral said with authority, "Outside, everyone. Now."

Everyone mumbled a yes sir, and evacuated the pub. "Not you, Cadet-?" The Captain said, stopping to ask for her name. "Cadet Kathy- Katherina Whitlock, sir" Kathy said, attempting to stand still. The alcohol was now affecting her senses.

The Captain nodded, and turned towards Jim. "You alright son?"

"You can whistle really loud, you know that?" Jim replied, coughing lightly, making the admiral smile. Kathy let out an alcohol induced giggle, and helped Jim up, stumbling slightly herself, earning a raised eyebrow from the Captain. The two followed him out, where their cuts and bruises were cleaned up. Jim sat with tissues up his nose, and a glass of alcohol in front of him. Kathy was sitting on the floor cross- legged, looking back and forth between the Captain and Jim, appearing to be more drunk by the minute.

An awkward silence which ensued was broken by Kathy, as she slurred, "You have dimples Captain, you know that? Just like my Papa" She added at the end, looking a bit sad. The Captain smiled at her, making her giggle and poke his cheek. Jim chuckled at her behavior, while the Captain grinned, and turned to Jim.

"You know, I couldn't believe it when the bartender told me who you are" He began. "And who am I, Captain Pike?" Jim asked, taking a sip of his drink. Ah, so his name is Pike... "Your father's son." Pike replied. This seemed to strike a nerve, as Jim ignored him and turned towards the bar. "Can I get another one?" "Me to!" Kathy exclaimed loudly.

"No, you aren't getting any of that now, young lady" The Captain said, making Kathy pout. "Cute" Jim mumbled, poking her cheek. "If you ever try to flirt with me again" Kathy began as she dramatically produced a pocket knife out of nowhere, "I'll cut ya."

"For my dissertation, I was assigned the U.S.S. Kelvin. Something I admire about your dad- he didn't believe in no- win scenarios." Pike said, ignoring the two cadets. "Sure learnt his lesson" Jim muttered as he removed the tissues from his nose, making Kathy scrunch up her nose in disgust.

"Wait a minute..." She said suddenly, having a realization moment. "You're the son of George Kirk? Like, The George Kirk?! I really admire him. I wanna be like him when I grow up." Kathy suddenly became silent, sniffing a bit. "Your father was aboard the U.S.S. Kelvin when it was struck, wasn't he" Pike said softly, to which Kathy nodded.

"He died. Ma was heart broken when it happened. She then married a some human. My Ma and new Papa are mean. They don't know that I'm here. Please don't tell them! I don't wanna go away!" Kathy cried out, her bottom lip trembling.

Jim and Pike sat in silence for a while. "Don't worry babe" Jim said, patting her head. "I'll protect ya." "You mean, like an older brother?" Kathy asked, her golden honey brown eyes filled with innocence. "Yeah" Jim said, puffing his chest. Pike watched the two, a small smile on his face. He knew that this would be the beginning of a new friendship for the two, as their pasts were similar. They were just like their fathers, who had been best friends, practically inseparable.

"If you are half the man your father was, Jim" Pike began softly "Starfleet could use you. You could be an officer in four years. You could have your own ship in eight-" "Are we done yet?" Jim cut him off rudely. "I'm done" Pike said. He paused for a moment, before getting up and adding, "Riverside Shipyard. Shuttle for Star Fleet Cadets leaves tomorrow morning at 7."

Pike paused by the door before turning around. "Your father was the Captain, Jim and your's, Kathy, was the First Officer of a starship for 12 minutes. Together, they saved over 800 hundred lives, including your both's and your mothers'. I dare you to do better." With that, the Captain walked out.

Jim sat with a contemplating look on his face, toying with the tiny Starship toy. Seeing that Kathy looked ready to pass out, he let out a grunt and got up. "C'mmon, let's get ya to your friends." He picked Kathy of the floor and carried her out, where her friends were waiting. "You can stay back at my friends's place tonight" Stacy said shyly. Her friend nodded, and they heeded to her house.

"Hey Jim" Chloe said. He looked at her, raising an eyebrow. "Thanks" she murmured, pointing at a sleeping Kathy. "No problem" Jim muttered.

Time Skip

Kathy let out a yawn and stretched, wincing as the sun rays hit her face. She rubbed her eyes before shooting up, feeling that she was back in her room. "Wow, relax man" Chloe chuckled. "Oh, and before you kill me for not telling this to you, this chic called Uhura wanted to congratulate you on your fight yesterday. She wanted to talk to you later. "M'kay, thanks." Kathy mumbled, rubbing her forehead. "What happened yesterday?"

"You got drunk honey, that's what happened" Stacy chuckled. The girls took turns in retelling yesterday's events, and told her that they had to carry her to and from the Ship, as she bit anyone who tried to wake her up. "I... what?" Kathy said, mortified. Small bits of her memories floated back, and Kathy hoped that she would remember everything that happened the previous night in a while.

"What's the time?" Kathy asked. "Ummm... 10:30" Stacy said, checking her watch. "Holy crap!" Kathy cursed, running her hands through her hair worriedly. "The first class is Vulcan Studies" Chloe sang deviously. Kathy let out a shriek as she dashed to the bathroom to get ready.

"Keep the essays next to my bag, girls!" Kathy called out from inside. Both the girls stopped laughing. "Yeah... About that...We didn't complete it" they both mumbled, before dashing off to do their work.

"I'm going to kill them", Kathy grumbled to herself darkly.

Phew, that was a long chapter! Hope you like it! Please comment!
