Cold Showers

I'm back folks! I might not be able to post for a while, as I have some relatives coming over to my place, so yeah... Anyhow, enjoy!

Spock made his way to his mother's quarters, still quite confused about the Cadet's behavior. He knocked at the door, straightening his clothes- a nervous habit he'd picked up from his father. The door opened to reveal Sarek, whose hair was slightly ruffled. Spock blinked. Perhaps he'd come at an odd time.

"I apologize, father. I will leave now. I believe I have disturbed you-"

"Thank you, son", Sarek said, cutting him off in between. Spock raised a bro. A voice floated by from inside, which Spock recognized to be his mother's.

"Sarek dear, who is it?"

"No one, thyla", Sarek called back, seemingly in a hurry. Spock was now thoroughly confused. He had never heard his parents use such terms of endearment.

Amanda walked to the door just then, wearing a robe, her hair slightly messy.

"Babe don't lie to- oh, Spock!"

Spock blinked again. He wondered why his parents were behaving oddly.

"Come on in, sweetheart", Amanda said, gently touching Spock's shoulder. Spock stiffened, but said nothing.

"Mother, I..." Spock began, before halting upon realizing that his father was looking intently at him. Amanda noticed too, and was quick to shoo him out.

"Sarek, go."

"But-"

"Sarek!"

"Very well then."

With that, Sarek walked out, head held high; a Vulcan version of throwing a tantrum, according to Amanda. Spock's lips quirked, as he found his parents' playful bickering entertaining. Amanda turned to him, and smiled, gesturing him to go on.

"Mother, I am confused with regards to Cadet Whitlock's behavior", Spock said, coming to the point. Amanda's eyes widened.

"Oh no, tell me all about it."

"Why must you assume that what I wish to speak with you is problematic?"

"I just know, Spock."

Spock raised a brow, making Amanda sigh. Her son had yet to learn many things.

"I'm a mother, Spock, I think I would know if something is bothering my baby."

"Cadet Whitlock is behaving quite... strangely for the past couple of days, mother." Spock began, and retold the tale of why their sessions on Vulcan training had stopped, and the Cadet's confusing demeanor.

Amanda's eyes widened by the minute. She knew exactly where this was going.

"Um, Spock? Does she like, you know, uh- fidget a lot, or blush when around you?"

"Affirmative."

"Does she stutter?"

"Affirmative."

"Does avert her eyes when you look at her?"

"Affirmative."

"Does she-"

"Mother, I do believe we are going as you would say,'way off the topic'", Spock said, amused yet irritated.

Amanda began to pace by the bed, muttering something along the lines of 'what the hell', 'this is not happening', and 'we're so doomed'. Spock waited for her patiently, his hands clasped together firmly. Amanda then stopped pacing, and sat next to Spock abruptly.

"Just forget about this, Spock. She's just nervous around you, that's all."

Spock frowned a bit. "I do not understand mother, have any of my actions caused her discomfort?"

Amanda mentally face- palmed. She should not have said that. "She's shy by nature, Spock. Now go send your father in. We have some- ah, unfinished business to attend to."

Spock eyed his mother skeptically as he thanked her and walked out, pondering over his mother's words. A thought struck him. What had she meant by 'unfinished business'?

Spock quietly informed Sarek about what Amanda said, quoting her word to word. Sarek had this gleam in his eye, which disappeared as soon as it appeared. Just before entering the room, he turned back.

"It would be more convenient f you could message one of us before visiting us, son."

With that, Sarek shut the door, leaving an adorably confused Vulcan. Spock clasped his hands behind his back, tilting his head to the side as he decided to visit the library.

Meanwhile, Nyota had all but dragged Kathy to the library, refusing to let Bones and Jim tag along, claiming that Kathy and she needed some 'girl time to bond'. They sat down in the most seclude corner of the massive area, wanting some privacy.

"Okay, now spill", Nyota said after a moment of silence. Kathy didn't reply.

"Listen, I know. About what feelings for Spock, I mean. And the reason for your mood swings. You can tell me, you know. I wont judge."

Silence. All that could be heard was the sound of footsteps. Spock could be seen from their spot, and Nyota observed Kathy, who was looking at the confused Commander with a tiny smile. Spock continued to walk around the library, stopping upon seeing the two cadets.

"Cadets", He said, tilting his head as a sign of greeting.

"Good day, sir", Kathy responded politely, still not meeting his eyes.

Spock hesitated, wondering if he should clarify his doubt by asking the cadets.

"Cadets, may I make a personal query?" Both nodded. Taking that as a sign of approval, Spock continued.

"I believe I have come across a scenario that surpasses my ability to comprehend."

With that, he launched into a detailed version of what had happened with his parents. By the time he was done, Nyota was stiff, looking a bit sick while Kathy, who seemed to be shocked out of her stupor, was gripping her chair tightly, biting her lip to keep her laughter at bay.

"Well- I um, well, I- uh, can't help. Apologies Commander. I'm sure Kathy'll help!" That being said, Nyota all but ran towards the door, leaving her and the Vulcan alone. Kathy glared after her best friend, cursing her for leaving her in such an awkward situation.

"I apologize if my words were offensive, Cadet. That was not my intention." Spock said carefully. And that was it. Kathy burst out laughing, clutching her stomach as her face reddened even more from both, her embarrassment and mirth.

"Oh- gods, just- oh my, you're scarred for life! Just- I shouldn't be finding this so funny- oh my, your expression! Haha! My stomach hurts, like, just- Jesus you're so innocent!"

Kathy continued to laugh her ass off, while Spock could do nothing but stare at the confusing woman. His eyes darkened unknowingly, as he drank in the sight of Kathy laughing, her eyes sparkling, her cheeks rosy red, as she clung to the table to keep herself from falling off the chair. She calmed down finally, before blurting out the first thing on her mind.

"They were going to have sex, Spock. No wonder your father was so pissed!"

As soon as these words left her mouth, Kathy's eyes widened as she slapped a hand over her mouth.

"I... uh... I'm sorry. That was way too blunt."

Spock felt like either sinking into the ground, or burying his head into the ground much like the bird found on Earth; the ostrich- however illogical it might sound. His ear tips tinged green, and it was then that he understood the Cadet's need to avert her eyes whenever embarrassed.

Kathy was as red as a tomato, as she gnawed her lip in embarrassment. Deciding to risk it, she took a peek her senior, pleasantly surprised by what she saw. Spock seemed to be thoroughly uncomfortable as he stood still. But what surprised her the most were his ears. Those adorably tempting, god forsaken ears. They were tinted green.

Is he... Holy shit he's blushing!

Oh what I would do to those ravishing ear tips... gods, he's so fucking cute.

Stop!

I wonder what those luscious, pink lips, which he is unknowingly chewing, feel like. How he would react if I...

Enough!

Kathy shut her eyes and attempted to shrink herself, covering her face as the most inappropriate thoughts entered her head. Spock, who seemed to have regained self- control, looked at Kathy curiously, who had peeked through her hands, feeling his gaze on her, muttering a defensive 'what' as she saw his expression. Kathy removed her hands from her face, before gently placing them on her lap, playing with her fingers.

"I do believe that I find a 'blush' quite aesthetically pleasing," Spock began, getting an odd sense of satisfaction as he watched the Circian squirm under his gaze. "I do not see the need for you to conceal it. I assure you, any being who thinks or says the contrary is positively a fool for not noticing such beauty."

Spock strode up to where a wide- eyed Kathy sat, as he paused and made contact with her golden- brown eyes. Mentally, the logical part in him questioned his 'inappropriate' action, as he bent slightly in order to make her feel less intimidated by his tall figure, before whispering gently.

"Have a good day, Cadet."

And just like that, he walked- fuck it- frickin' sauntered out out, without bothering to wait for her reply. Kathy sat there for what felt like hours, just staring at the spot where they had made eye contact, before letting out a groan as she let her head hit the table with a small 'thump'. She squeezed her eyes shut, certain that the image if Spock's warm brown eyes was forever burnt into her memory.

"You, Professor Spock, will be the death of me. At this rate, I will be the one needing a cold shower every hour."

Seriously, the young woman had not idea how true this was.

Especially for a certain, half- Vulcan half- human Commander.

How was the ending? ;) Next would probably be the Christmas/ New Year chapter. Maybe. Hopefully you'd get to see some Kathy/Spock moments (I REALLY NEED A SHIP NAME FOR THESE TWO)! So last update for a week or so, people.

All the love,

Kit_Kat
