"Y/N, what's wrong?"

Mahiru inquired, on the phone. As you spoke, your voice was shaky.

You

"I-I have an upcoming project, and I just realized the due date's tomorrow..."

Mahiru

"And?"

You

"Well, you see, uh... You're going to call me stupid!"

Mahiru

"No no! I promise I won't say anything!"

You

"I'm nowhere near done the project... I actually haven't started it yet, hehe..."

Mahiru resisted the urge to scream at you.

Instead, she took a deep breath in and exhaled slowly.

Mahiru

"Okay, Y/N. I'll be over in a minute, okay? I'll help you on it."

You

"W-Wow, really?"

Mahiru

"Yeah! Of course! Now, I've gotta get ready!"

She hung up and began packing her belongings in preparation for her visit to your home.

You heard the ringing of your doorbell.

You

"Mahiru! Thank you so much for coming!"

Mahiru

"No problem!"

First, Mahiru jotted down some ideas for you to consider as you work on your project. You told her what you wanted, and she was able to make it exactly how you wanted it.

You

"Wow Mahiru... I never knew that you could make something so boring look so cool."

Mahiru

"You think that topic is boring? Man... I'd do anything to do a project again. Our class doesn't really get to do fun stuff like this anymore, so I'm glad that I could help you make it. But seriously, Y/N, you've gotta stay concentrated!"

You

"Eep! I'm sorry! There's a lot of things that distract me!"

Mahiru

"I can help you on concentrating next if you'd like me to."

You

"So... Your class doesn't do projects? But your class seems so fun... I'd do anything to get into the main course, honestly."

Mahiru

"In the main course, it's pretty chaotic. Sure, it's fun, but I wish we would do a project."

The rest of the night was spent with you two talking about whatever came to mind. Mahiru decided to spend the night with you, and you both stayed up until 7 a.m.
