THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SDR2 CHAPTER 2

This will take place before the tragedy and during the killing school trip.

In this section, you are 4-6 years old.

You, Fuyuhiko, and Peko were all raised in the same house. As an infant, you were abandoned and taken in by the Kuzuryu clan. Fuyuhiko, on the other hand, typically ignored you and never paid attention to you. He was more interested in Peko than in you. You grew up cold-hearted as a result of your lack of love and affection as a child.

Fuyuhiko

"Pew pew pew!"

Fuyuhiko pretended to be aiming at Peko with a gun sign using his hands.

Peko

"Fuyuhiko, you already know that you won't be able to shoot me down, you know that, right?"

Fuyuhiko

"Peko, how the heck do you get so strong?! You have to teach me your ways!"

You

"..."

You were left behind when Peko and Fuyuhiko headed out into the backyard.

You

It's almost like I'm invisible. They never invite me to play.

A couple of hours later, you heard Fuyuhiko weeping.

You

"Fuyu-"

Peko

"Fuyuhiko! What happened?"

You've been neglected and viewed as if you were a hollow room in the house for years. You were considering fleeing.

Fuyuhiko never offered to rescue you when you fell over and got a cut. Peko didn't either. They were so preoccupied with one another.

When you were sick, Fuyuhiko's parents were normally the ones to look after you, while Peko and Fuyuhiko played.

Only when Peko must be removed from Fuyuhiko for an extended period will he pay attention to you. You take Peko's position and must follow his instructions.

In the halls, a boy was going to push Fuyuhiko when he was carrying his food tray, but you stepped in and was pushed instead.

Your food spilled all over the cafeteria tile, staining your clothes in the process.

Fuyuhiko

"Be careful next time and stop being so clumsy."

Even though he said something that sounds as though he didn't give a damn, you were quite pleased because he spoke to you for once.

On the day you were about to run away from the Kuzuryu household, all three of you received a letter inviting you to visit Hope's Peak, almost as if it had been arranged.

Fuyuhiko

"Killing... Killing school trip?!"

Monokuma

"Right on!"

Fuyuhiko

"What the fuck is this?!"

Peko

"Please stay calm, Fuyuhiko."

You

"..."

During the 2nd class trial

Fuyuhiko

"No... No! What you're saying Hajime is all lies! Peko is not the goddamn killer! You hear me?! Peko is not th-"

You

"Fuyuhiko, Hajime has already given everyone solid proof of Peko being the blackened."

Hearing your voice, everybody in the room gasped. Since you arrived, they haven't heard you utter a thing.

Fuyuhiko

"Y/N?"

That was most likely the first time he mentioned your name.

The execution of Peko was witnessed by all. Fuyuhiko threw himself into Peko's execution and did everything he could to rescue her, but you came in again just as something bad was about to happen to him.

Fuyuhiko

"Huh?"

You had taken Fuyuhiko's spot and been injured instead of him before he even realized it.

Fuyuhiko

"Why did you..."

It was at that point that Fuyuhiko learned how badly he had been treating you. He was perplexed as to why this was the first time he had ever realized it. Possibly because Peko is no longer with them.

Mikan

"Wah! I've gotta get Y/N to the hospital quickly!"

Mikan did her best to look after you, and Fuyuhiko sat by your hospital bed, waiting for you to wake up so he could speak to you.

You

"Fuyuhiko? What are you doing here?"

Fuyuhiko

"Oh, you're awake! I-I'm here because... I was just making sure you're alright, that's all. Isn't it obvious?"

You

"No, not really. You've never done such a thing before."

Fuyuhiko

"Done what?"

You

"Stay by my side."

Fuyuhiko

"What's that supposed to mean?"

You

"As kids, I got many cuts and bruises because of my clumsiness. But, at the time, you never bothered to check up on me. Why only now?"

Fuyuhiko

"Okay, we were kids at the time."

You

"Hm."

Fuyuhiko

"And I'm sorry."

You

"There's no need to apologize."

Fuyuhiko

"B-But it's my fault you're all wrecked up!"

You

"But I'm able to move perfectly fine."

Fuyuhiko

"Hey!-"

You got up from the hospital bed and stood up perfectly fine. Nothing was holding you down.

You took Peko's position after that and protected him in every way you could. This got you closer together, and you were able to have actual conversations for the first time. The missing happiness inside of you was finally returning.

You

"Fuyuhiko, you called? Do you need anything?"

Fuyuhiko

"Well... I- It's nothing. Get out!"

You

"My apologies."

He called for you again just before you left, just as you were about to close his cottage door.

You

"Yes?"

Fuyuhiko

"Can you..."

His cheeks had turned pink.

Fuyuhiko

"Can you play the guitar for me?"

You

"How did you know I played the guitar?"

Fuyuhiko

"I dunno I... I saw you playing it when we were kids, and I saw one in your cottage when I visited you."

You

"Okay. Then I shall play it for you. Give me a minute."

You left his cottage and returned with a guitar in your hands soon after.

You

"What song would you like me to play?"

Fuyuhiko

"Just play anything that you think will relax me... Please."

You

"Okay."

You sat on the side of his bed, where he was laying. Then, you started playing a random melody on your guitar.

He exhaled as your melody soothed him. He shifted his gaze to you, where your gaze was fixed on your guitar. He got up and moved closer to you, then rested his head on your shoulder. You became puzzled at first, unsure of what he was doing. You later felt as if your bond with Fuyuhiko would never be broken as he slept calmly on your shoulder.
