TW: SUICIDE

THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SDR2 CHAPTER 5

This is part 2 of the previous chapter. 

This will now take place during the killing school trip.

You said your goodbyes to your family and headed to Hope's Peak Academy to begin your new life.

You

"Where am I?"

You had no recollection of what happened before you arrived, and you had no idea what was going on.

???

"Are they awake?"

???

"I dunno, are they awake?"

You

Are they referring to me?...

???

"H-Hey, we should get Nagito over here! They're awake!"

You

Nagi... Nagito? Is he here?

Everything in your field of vision was extremely blurry, and every sound you heard was slightly muffled.

???

"H-How are you, are you feeling okay?"

You

"Who are you?"

???

"M-Mikan Tsumiki... F-From what I've seen and heard, you've been asleep for a long time. Y-Your name is Y/N, right?"

You

"Yeah... That would be correct."

Mikan

"S-So, Nagito was really happy to see you, but he wouldn't tell us the reason why he knew who you were... D-Did you guys know each other before all of this?"

You

"Yeah, we did I'm pretty sure."

Mikan

"Y-You two must have been really good friends... Nagito was really happy. Like, REALLY happy!"

You

"Nagito... Wait! Nagito is here?!"

Mikan

"U-Uh, yes? That's what we've been talking abo-"

You jumped right out of the bed you were laying on and started running out of the room.

Mikan

"Ho-Hold on! I'm unsure if you're supposed to be walking or not!"

You

"Nagito!"

You yelled.

You

"Nagito!"

You yelled again.

Nagito

That's Y/N's voice! "I'm sorry, Hajime, I'll be back!"

Hajime

"Wait! We're not done here!"

Hajime chased Nagito through almost the entire island.

He slowed down and took a breather when he saw you. But, no matter how you felt, you continued to run. Even if you felt that you were going to pass out.

Your smile began to return with each step closer to him. Nagito's did as well.

You both jumped into Nagito's arms when you finally got to each other. He had forgotten how good your hugs and warmth felt. It was nice for him to feel that way once more.

You teared up.

You

"H-How long's it been?"

Nagito

"I dunno... Like, 6 years?"

You both laughed, unable to control your tears.

Hajime was puzzled as he stood there.

Hajime

"W-Wait, you're that person who fell asleep and didn't wake up for another few weeks!"

You

"Huh?"

You raised your eyes to Nagito, who was still encircling you with his arms.

Nagito

"I can explain for you."

You've been sleeping since you arrived at Hope's Peak, according to what Nagito told you. Or, perhaps, Jabberwock Island. The total number of students was supposed to be 17, but there were only 16 at first. When they looked through your cottage and saw you sleeping soundly, they realized who the 17th student was. When they saw you, they thought to themselves, "Are you dead?"

You've been sleeping since you arrived at Hope's Peak, according to what you heard from Nagito. Or, maybe, Jabberwock Island. The overall number of students was meant to be 17, but there were just 16 at first. When they looked into your cottage and saw you sleeping soundly, they realized who the 17th student was. When they saw you, they said to themselves, "Are you dead?" Nagito, on the other hand, couldn't take his gaze away from you. When Nagito saw you, he started laughing and crying, which people considered creepy. However, he didn't want anybody to know why he was doing that. Mikan made sure you were okay and looked after you in your cottage while you were asleep.

You

"That is... A lot."

Nagito

"Yeah, I know."

Hajime

"It all makes sense now... So, Nagito, when we first saw Y/N, you were crying and laughing. I understand why now."

Later on, the others told you about Monokuma and Monomi, as well as the awful killing game you were all forced to participate in. You were terrified and you knew that certain people had already disappeared there being not all 17 students anymore.

Lol angst

Nagito

"Shut up Hajime! You're wrong! There's no way that you're telling the truth!"

Nagito screamed at Hajime, accusing you of being the blackened during a class trial.

Hajime

"L-Listen, Nagito I know how you feel but if we don't vote them out then we'll all die!"

Nagito

"Me! Execute me instead! I'll go in the place of Y/N!"

You

"Stop it, Nagito."

Nagito

"Huh?!"

As Nagito glared at you, waiting for you to say something, you glanced down at the ground in your designated position.

You

"Just give up. You don't have to protect me anymore. I admit defeat. I am the one who killed them."

Nagito

"D-Don't lie! Hajime's just trying to-"

You

"Nagito, I'm the culprit! Okay?!"

Nagito

"Culprit? You?"

Monokuma

"Okay! Time to vote?!"

Nagito

"No! Don't start it!"

Monokuma Vote! 

Nagito declined to believe it when your image appeared on the slot machine.

He took a shaky step out of his designated position and approached you.

Nagito

"Why?"

You

"I had to. I had no other choice."

Nagito

"And to think that... I thought... We would run away together."

You

"I'm sorry."

Nagito

"Monokuma, take me with them! Execute me too!"

You

"No! You have to live! If you die with me or even try to kill yourself, I'll never forgive you!"

Nagito sobbed uncontrollably until he couldn't bear his own weight anymore and collapsed to the floor.

You knelt until your height was equal to his, and you took his hand in yours.

Nagito

"Don't leave me... Not again."

He said, his voice breaking even more in each word.

Monokuma

"It's..."

You

"I'll always..."

Monokuma

"Punishment...!"

You

"Be with you."

Monokuma

"Time!!!"

As a chain wound around your neck and pulled you to the scene of your execution, you saw and heard Nagito scream. 

Nagito squeezed your hand as tightly as he could, but you still were taken away from him.

Here's a good ending for you guys cause why not

All were gathering in the plushie factory, watching a video on a laptop that Nagito had set up.

You

"I can't do this..."

You bolted from the plushie factory, desperate for some alone time.

Kazuichi

"Wait, it's dangerous out there! Wh-What if he randomly comes and murders you?!"

You rushed out after totally disregarding Kazuichi's warning.

You went to the warehouse because it was the only location nearby where you could start breaking down with nobody else having to watch you.

You

Hey... That wasn't there before.

A black curtain caught your attention. You approached it and opened it, only to be confronted with a terrifying sight.

You

"N-Nagito! Who did this to you?!"

He looked up at you, his soul full of sorrow, and the despair left his eyes. His eyes were razor-sharp, like those of a cat.

Nagito

This wasn't... The plan.

You began removing everything from the warehouse that would stem his bleeding and doing everything you could to keep him alive. You took a glance around, wary of the others. You asked yourself if they were capable of such heinous acts. You had no idea that this had been Nagito's plan all along. To make the ultimate sacrifice for you to discover who the traitor was.

You

"Hey... How are you feeling?"

Nagito

"Sick."

He had no choice but to look at the ceiling or out the window. You still make sure he's with you and he didn't want to be alone again. He was sleeping in your bed, in your cottage.

You put up a sleeping bag so you could sleep on the floor as he stared at the ceiling.

Nagito

"Y/N, can you come up here?"

You

"Hm?"

Nagito

"I don't want to sleep alone. Sleep with me."

You turned red.

You

"Y-Yeah, of course."

You got out of your sleeping bag and sat down next to Nagito, who was sound asleep once you were beside him.
