SURPRISE!

The adrenaline still coursing through my veins.... I could feel my hands shaking but I couldn't let this get the better of me.

Get yourself together!

I got this!

I know that they are unconscious...

And yes pain....

But I signed up for this.... exactly this....

I couldn't afford to stay here any longer, no matter how on edge I was. There was still this feeling as if someone is gonna come out from behind me, one of these villains and start fighting me again. They would wake up eventually after all, and their reinforcements might arrive sooner than later.

Spooky Scary Skeleton... starts playing....

Gosh am I childish...

How in the world did I get to that one...

AH yeah... creapy vibe here.

The hallway was dimly lit and some of the lights started flickering, the sterile white walls and tile floors giving it an eerie, hospital-like atmosphere. I moved cautiously, listening for any signs of movement. My heartbeat pounded in my ears, this was definitley not what I wanted and hoped for. Still it was something else and as errie as it was, it was pushing me to my limits to go on, to go further and to actually find out what the hell these lunatics were doing down here.

By now, I knew it wouldn't be anything good at all.

I mean...

Look around!

This looked like a god damn abandoned hospital ward.

I woke up in a morgue or operation room and there was no blood on the hallways at all..... in fact this was too clean to be good.

As I vgot a bit further, the scent of antiseptic began to mingle with something more metallic, more disturbing.....

BLOOD?!!!!

I KNEW IT!

Something was wrong with this place after all.

It didn't take long to find the source. Turning a corner, I stumbled upon a gruesome scene:

.

.

.

several bodies, lifeless and cold, lay haphazardly on metal tables.....

Right in a corner....

Their wear neatly put one next to each other in this open spaces room without a door.....

Their stomach cut open....

Flies everywhere......

I could see some of their organs hanging out....

A bucket....

And when I stepped a bit into the room, I couldn't handle this anymore.

I don't wanna get into details cause I just saw how their stomach looked... how the inside... no... just no... I couldn't think about it.

My stomach started turning upside down and before I knew it, I leaned against a wall and started throwin up.

Who the fuck does something like this?

THIS AIN'T NORMAL!

I'LL GET THEM FOR SURE!!!!

The sight made my stomach churn again and again, but I forced myself to look away and keep moving past them to get to the otherside where the corridor would continue. There was nothing I could do for them now.... and I certainly wouldn't be any help if I would get caught.

I pressed on, my footsteps echoing softly in the stillness. My heartbeat was all I could hear for now and I had goosebumps all over my body. I hated this, after what I saw, I just wanted to get out.

Children...

They were all childrens body!!!!!!

The corridor seemed to stretch endlessly, each door leading to more rooms that looked disturbingly similar to the one I had been held in. Just when I thought I'd find nothing but more emptiness, I heard it: faint, muffled sobbing.

Nooo....

This can't be...

Don't tell me...

No... just nooo...

I have to ...

I need to check!

I followed the sound, my pulse quickening. The cries led me to a heavy metal door with a small window. Peering through, I saw them!

Not one...

Not two...

They were children!

A handful if not more, all huddled together in fear. My heart clenched at the sight. They looked terrified, their faces pale and drawn.

Me: Hey,....

I called softly, trying not to startle them.

Me: It's okay. I'm here to help.

The children looked up, their eyes wide with a mix of hope and distrust. I needed to calm them down, but the door had no keyhole, just a digital lock and I couldn't get them out. Besides that... how should I get them to calm down, to trust me, when all they learned from this place was just fear? Who told them that I was not part of this lunacy?

If I could, I would get them out but I wasn't exactly tech-savvy, and breaking it open wasn't an option without drawing unwanted attention. Even if I could get the door to open, how was I supposed to get them to follow me?

Me: It's going to be alright, I'm going to get you out of here.

One of the children, a small girl with a horn on her forehead and white hair, stood out. She seemed especially frightened, clutching a stuffed animal tightly.

Me: What's your name?

The girl hesitated before replying in a barely audible whisper,

Girl: Eri.....

I could even barely hear her.

She was frightened.

Me: Hi, Eri. My name is... Bruce, I know you're scared, but I promise I won't let anything bad happen to you.

She looked at me with wide, tear-filled eyes.

Eri: Are you a hero?

Me: Something like that.

The other children began to edge closer. If I said something like that, perhapse they thought about a side-kick... maybe I was... I knew enough heroes to be one.

Boy (trembling voice) : Can you get us out?.

Me: I'm working on it,.....But I need you all to stay calm. Can you do that for me?

They nodded hesitantly, their trust fragile but hey this was a start. I kept talking, trying to soothe them.

Me: You're all very brave. I know this is scary, but you're not alone. We'll get through this together.

Every few moments, I paused to listen for any approaching footsteps. The last thing I needed was for someone to catch me here before I could figure out a plan. My mind raced with possibilities, but without the ability to open the door, I felt stuck and useless.

Me: Do any of you know if there's another way out?

Eri shook her head.

Boy: We've been here a long time. They only come in through that door.

There had to be a way to bypass the lock, but I wasn't sure how.

Me: Okay, don't worry. I'll figure something out...

Time was running out. I could feel it. But I couldn't let these kids see my fear.

I need to make them talk more...

They are all too scared...

I need to distract them....

Me: Tell me about yourselves,....What's your favorite game? Do you have any hobbies?

The children began to talk, their voices trembling at first but gradually gaining strength. They spoke of their lives before this nightmare, the things they missed, the friends and family they longed to see again. It was heartbreaking, but it also fueled my determination.

As they talked, I kept my ears tuned for any sounds of approaching danger. Every creak and groan of the building set my nerves on edge, but I forced myself to remain calm and positive for the kids' sake.

I had to find a way to get them out of here. I just needed a little more time, a little more luck, and just.... a backup...

I'll get them out of there.

And if it is the last thing I will do!
