Torie, Tristen, and Savannah wait inside the main office. Torie's pacing, concerned yet hopeful.

TRISTEN

So you and Vance are back on good terms.

SAVANNAH

Yeah. We talked. He apologized. There's no hard feelings.

TORIE

Just be careful. Vance is a loose cannon. You've seen what he's capable of. He started a school war.

TRISTEN

Don't you think you're being a little overdramatic?

TORIE

We'll see if I'm being dramatic when our entire school is covered in slime. Or overrun by a petting zoo.

SAVANNAH

I'm secretly wishing for that one.

TRISTEN

It's not a secret if you say it out loud. Remind me to never tell you one of mine.

SAVANNAH

Oh yeah? What deep, dark secrets are you hiding?

TRISTEN

Wouldn't you like to know?

Mr. Edwards exits the principal's office. Torie's relieved.

TORIE

What's the verdict?

MR. EDWARDS

Sorry, but I have been authorized to tell you that you are not permitted to stay inside the school overnight without supervision.

TORIE

You could supervise us, right?

MR. EDWARDS

I cannot. I have a date.

He exits.

TRISTEN

It's Ms. Gomez. No doubt.

SAVANNAH

Ms. Gomez is dating someone. He brought her flowers the other day.

TRISTEN

You just can't help yourself. From now on I'm calling you Cham. For Chamomile.

TORIE

We have more important things to discuss than the faculties extracurricular activities. We need to find a way to guarantee Mannie's safety.

TRISTEN

We'll just keep him at our house.

TORIE

Are you kidding? If Southside found out we hid him, they will not hesitate to tee-pee us and chalk our cars. They're not coming anywhere near our house.

SAVANNAH

I can get us into the school.

TRISTEN

You mean break into the school?

TORIE

We could get into serious trouble.

SAVANNAH

Not if we don't get caught.
