I fell on my ass low on HP. I quickly stood up as the drugged boar yelled and charged at me. I thought this was it and closed my eyes as I heard another swing and opened my eyes to see the boar slump over before disappearing in a blue light. I looked over to a guy with long black hair that faded to white at the tips and teal eyes with a scar going down one his left eye.

???:You okay?

The guy held his hand out to me as I took it. He looked about a year or two younger than me.

Azure:Yeah, thank you.

???:Looks like you we're having trouble there.

Azure: Yeah.....I was so excited that a VR game was coming out,but I didn't know it was gonna be an MMORPG. I suck at those....Might just pass on this game.

???:Nonsense, what's your name?

Azute: Azure.

Maverick:Ooh! I like it! I'm Maverick. Nice to meet ya. Say, why don't I help you? It's the last day of the beta and maybe if you get the fighting down you'll want to play the game.

Azure:Really? Thanks!

Maverick:Ah, it's nothing. So let me show you how it's done.

Azure:Going in!

Maverick:I got your back!

I charged towards the first floor boss as he slammed his weapon down towards me making roll out the way as Maverick charged his sword skill.

Maverick: Prepare yourself!

Maverick launched himself into the boss doing massive critical hit damage before jumping back.

Maverick:Azure! Finish him!

Azure:Yeah!

I dashed forward and jumped into the air as I began spinning like a helicopter.

Azure:All over!

I sliced the monster's head off as it fell to the ground dead before disappearing and the fanfare blared.

Maverick:Awesome job! Here,take my rewards.

Azure:You don't want them?

Maverick:Nah, I farmed the hell out of this boss so I have basically everything in his drop list.

"Attention players, this marks the end of our beta for Sword Art Online.Thank you for playing. Please logout. This message will repeat."

Maverick:Aw man. Well, it was fun playing with you.

Azure:You too. Thanks again for showing me how to play.

Maverick: Think nothing of it. See ya!

I remember that eventful day. The day we all became trapped in a VR game. I was terrified but I knew that nothing good will come if I let my fear control me. I began
grinding and farming the first floor for two months. I didn't even notice that we were able to clear the first floor. That's when things really sparked,the Assault Team was formed and we began clearing floors at an accelerated pace. I wasn't in the "AT" so I spent my time helping lower level player and generally keeping to myself.That is, until that eventful day.

Laughing Coffin Member1:My my, looks like we got ourselves a goody two shoes on our hands boys!

I fell into a trap and was surrounded by members of Laughing Coffin.The fear of death was firmly replanted into my brain.

Azure:I-I don't want any trouble!

Laughing Coffin Member 2: Well I do! Time for you to die!

I dodged their attacks keeping my weapon sheathed.These people were seriously trying to kill me. But I can't kill someone...

Can I?

I got knocked onto the floor as my health got into the red.

Laughing Coffin Member 1:This is grand!Truly, I wonder how you're friends and family will react when they find out you're dead?

Azure:No.......

In that moment everything flashed. My mind began racing about my parents and my best friend. In that instant I was reminded what I was fighting for. The reason I helped others and the reason I always looked to the skies brimming with hope. The reminder that I have people who are waiting for me! I picked myself up my bangs covering my eyes.

Laughing Coffin Member1:Oh boy! He's finally-

The player couldn't even finish his sentence as my lance pierced his chest. A look of surprise in his eyes as his body began to disappear.

Azure: I'm seeing my family again!

The player's body disappeared as I turned to the other player and ducked under his blade.

Laughing Coffin Member2: H-how?

Oh yeah I forgot that I'm taller than most ordinary people.I'm 190 cm tall or to better specify, I'm 6'3. So ducking under a blade like that must've been impressive in his eyes. But that didn't matter as I brought my lance around and cleanly decapitated him. I stood up looking at the two weapons on the ground. That's when it happened. I had two jobs now: helping low level players and hunting PKers. There was another guy that killed them too but he didn't hunt them like I did.

Then one day, As I looked to the skies, a white light like the heavens had opened up had enveloped me and I lost consciousness. I opened my eyes and saw that I was in a hospital bed. My body was frail and skinny as I used all my strength and got out of the bed and opened the curtain in the room. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Was I......back in the real world?

???:Y/N?

I slowly turned around hearing my name. Something I haven't heard in what seems like forever. That's when I saw them.

Y/N:Mom? Dad? Daisuke?

My parents rushed into my room and hugged me. It was like I was still in a trance. I thought that I was having a very vivid dream and was going to wake up in my SAO room anytime soon but that never happened. Tears flooded my eyes as my best friend joined the hug. I was finally back. Back in the real world.

I sat in my apartment watching TV as I scrolled through my phone until it started ringing.

Y/N:Hello?

Daisuke:Ah,Y/N how are you?

Y/N:The same basically.

Daisuke:So I'm sending you a link to this upcoming game. Check it out.

I opened the link and I was taken to a sight about a video game.

Y/N:Gun Gale Online?

Daisuke:Cool right? You get to use guns, grenades,lightsabers! They have it all! You gotta dive into this game with me.

Y/N:I would like to but.....

Daisuke:Y/N,you can't let what happened in SAO scare you from playing VR games again. If anything happens, I'll be there to personally help you. And,we'll be both going together so it'll be fun trust me!

Y/N:........

He wasn't wrong. It looked like a lot of fun. SAO did scare me but I did have the urge to get back into it. Daisuke even bought me the Amusphere. I guess I should give it a shot.

Y/N: *sigh* Okay...Let's do it.
