Time-Turners Are Crazy

More than a little surprised at your headmaster's sudden appearance you turned to Hermione when she turned to him. "You've got to stop them! They've got the wrong man!" She said urgently as Harry sat up in bed. "It's true, sir. Sirius is innocent!" He said getting Ron to jump in with. "It's Scabbers who did it!" Making Dumbledore raise a brow. "Scabbers?" He asked calmly as Ron tried to explain

"My rat, sir. Only he's not really a rat. Well, he was a rat. You see, he used to be my brother Percy's-" Stepping in before your friend could go down a rabbit hole of explaining every little thing. "What they mean is that the wrong man was blamed! We know who's responsible, the ministry has to listen to us!" You said making Dumbledore turn to you with a small sigh. "As much as I would like to believe so, I'm sorry to say that the words of a few thirteen year-old wizards will convince few others. A child's voice, however honest and true, is meaningless to those who have forgotten how to listen."

He said turning towards the window next to Harry's bed just as a shooting star silently crossed through the night sky. "Ah, a shooting star. If ever one was to make a wish, now would be the time. But time, I'm afraid, is precisely our problem." Dumbledore said when the tower bell tolled midnight.

"Mysterious thing, time. Powerful. And, when meddled with...dangerous. As you may know Sirius Black is in the topmost cell of the Dark Tower. You know the laws, Miss Granger. You must not be seen. And you would, I feel, do well to return before this last chime. If not... well, the consequences are really too ghastly to discuss. Three turns should do it, I think. If you succeed, more than one innocent life may be spared tonight."

Dumbledore said handing you, Harry, and Hermione each a stick of chocolate before turning to leave but stopped to turn back to Hermione with a knowing look in his eye. "By the way, when in doubt, I find retracing my steps to be a wise place to begin. Good luck." He said with a smile before leaving.

Confusedly turning from the chocolate the headmaster handed you to Ron who was just as confused as you. "What in bloody hell was all that about?" He asked just when Hermione looped a long chain around you and Harry. "Sorry Ron but seeing you can't walk you'll stay here." She said turning a small knob on her necklace pendant.

Utterly bewildered as you watched the world rewind like a VHS tape, you felt a little nauseated when everything stopped. Waiting until Hermione took her necklace chain from your neck to bend down a little you turned to the said bushy haired girl the same time Harry did. "What just happened? Where's Ron?"

He asked as Hermione looked around while ignoring the question as she eyed the clock on the wall. "Seven-thirty. Where were we at seven-thirty?" She asked making you look up in thought. "Uh. Harry? Do you remember?" You asked, finally standing up as the green eyed teen thought. "Huh? Dunno...going to Hagrid's?"

He answered making Hermione quickly grab him by the arm and you by the wrist. "Come on! We can't be seen!" She hissed slamming through the doors. Running full sprint through the halls towards Hagrid's when the three of you came to a mad, huffing halt. Slamming into Hermione you then tried to catch your balance while Harry turned to her after helping you stand properly.

"Hermione! Will you please tell us what it is we're doing?!" He hissed making the said girl hold up a hand, silencing him. Raising a brow at Hermione as she peeked out to look around you turned to Harry who wore a face of disbelief making you peek out past Hermione to see what had him in a twist.

Only to see you, Harry, Hermione and Ron, about to confront Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle near the monoliths. "But that...that's...us. This is not...normal." Harry said when you turned to lean against the wall and rub your eyes. "Hermione please explain what's going on before I lose my mind." You muttered making the said girl turn to you and Harry while holding up the hourglass necklace.

"This is a Time-Turner, guys. McGonagall gave it to me in first term. This is how I've been getting to my lessons all year." She explained getting you to drop your hand and stare at the golden pendant. "You mean, we've gone back in time?" Harry asked, mind spinning from everything that's going on. Sliding down the wall into a crouch and holding your hands together. "I, how? Holy mother of everything, magic is freaking crazy."

You mumbled before turning back to your friend as she continued to explain. "Yes. Dumbledore wanted us to return to this moment. Clearly something happened and he wants us to change it." She said just as a loud smack could be heard making you, Harry, and Hermione turn to see Malfoy land on the seat of his pants in the Sundial Garden, rubbing his kisser.

Smiling with a low giggle you were still proud of Hermione's punch when you heard Harry whisper. "Good punch." To her before Draco got up to run away. "Hurry! Malfoy's coming!" Hermione whimper yelled while pulling Harry under the bridge. Completely caught off guard, you quickly turned into your Animagus form only seconds before Draco and his Goons came storming past.

"Not a word of this to anyone, understood! I'll get that jumped up Mudblood one of these days. Mark my words." Draco growled, turning to Crabbe and Goyle with a glare while still cradling his injury just as you spotted Hermione's hand quickly rocketing up from under the bridge. Sending Malfoy sprawling to the floor.

Popping up to your hind legs to stare at Hermione in shock you then turned to Draco as he looked around in confusion, then dashed off with the others. Still staring after the pale blonde you then silently turned to Hermione when she came out of her hiding place with Harry.

"Don't give me that look (First/Name), he deserved it." Hermione said putting her hands on her hips when Harry caught your attention. "Look. Buckbeak's still alive." He said making you and Hermione quickly turn to see the said hippogriff down in the pumpkin patch.
