Patronus and a Jailbreak

A cold chill had swept across the forest, it was a very familiar chill that almost made you break out in sweat. Dropping your arms from their crossed position you looked up at the rustling tree tops as eerie shadowy figures fluttered over the moon, and with a closer look you instantly knew what they were, Dementors.

"Let's go." Harry said dashing the way the dementors were heading, making Hermione and you quickly chase after him. Looking towards the night sky again and through the trees you saw the dementors streaking in and out of the trees. Until your group came to a sudden stop at a small slowly freezing lake. And the sight you saw made your heart drop as shocked terror hit you like a freight train.

As dementors dipped down in a circling cyclone around both Harry and Sirius trying to suck away their souls. Covering your mouth to stifle the startled scream you continued to watch as Harry's past self tried in vain to summon a patronus.

"This is horrible…" You heard Hermione mutter too shell shocked to say anything more when Harry quickly glanced at the two of you. "Don't worry. My Dad will come...Right there... you'll see...he'll come...any minute...he'll conjure the Patronus." He said, making you double take at him. "Are you mad?! Harry, your father's been gone for years!"

You yelled, grabbing hold of the messy haired boy's arm as he pulled away from you. "He will come! I saw him!" Harry yelled back, staring hungrily toward the outcrop. Flinching back as the freezing winds rose around the lake you watched the dementors start dropping from the sky, vanish in the cyclone and freeze the lake completely.

"No one's coming, Harry…" Hermione said gently yet seriously as Harry slowly began to panic. "HE WILL! He will come!" He said as you and Hermione exchanged a wiry look and continued to watch, hoping that what he had said was true. But nothing was happening and you began to panic as you watched the cyclone circling around your friends, the pitiful sight of Harry and Black at the water's edge wracked with pain, dying.

Making Hermione crack and turn to desperately try and convince Harry that his father wasn't coming. "No one's coming! You're dying, both of you... and no one's coming!" She shouted, making Harry's face change in an instant as if a riddle unraveled itself before him. Before he quickly drew his wand and dash forward.

"HARRY, NO!" Hermione screamed, making a move to grab hold of the green eyed boy, making you jump to hold her back. "He has to do something! Otherwise they'll die!" You shouted fearfully, watching as Harry slashed through the trees, down to the rocky outcrop, and to the lakes edge. Poising his wand in a second, he looked out over the sea of dementors on the other side of the lake.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!" He roars as a wisp of silver escapes his wand, hovering like a mist, then blooms magnificently. The trees explode with light and the lake turns a blaze with reflected fire. Watching in utter amazement as waves of silvery magic washed over the small area, you turned to Harry who stood utterly still, wand extended to the heavens. Then across the lake, the dementors rushed to retreat away from Harry's magic.

Waiting in the sudden quiet of the night you and Hermione stared at Harry as he waited, still as a statue, until each and every last one of the dementors had fled. Then he simply let his arm drop, returning the forest to the night's darkness. Before quickly spinning around to sprint back up the slope to the two of you with a simple "Let's go."

Well this was the first time you got to ride Buckbeak and you were absolutely thrilled. Sitting close to Hermione as she clung to Harry, you let your arms extend outward to feel the rushing wind pass as a grin spread across your face. "You were right, Hermione. It wasn't my dad I saw earlier. It was... me. I saw myself conjuring the Patronus before. I knew I could do it this time, because…because I'd already done it. Does that make sense?"

You heard Harry try and yell over the wind, making you grab hold of Hermione as she contemplated the green eyed boy's words. "No. But I don't like this!" She squealed as Buckbeak dropped into a slight dive towards the tower Sirius had been locked away in. Landing a bit roughly, you slid off the back of Buckbeak and quickly followed Harry and Hermione as they rushed to Sirius who was anxiously pacing his cell.

"Sirius are you alright?" You asked as the convict stared at the three of you in stunned silence when Hermione pushed past you and Harry. "We don't have time for this, out of the way!" She said, brandishing her wand at the lock. "Alohomora!" She casted, making the lock rattle making Sirius test the iron door that was still locked. "Didn't really expect that to work."

She muttered worriedly flashing her wand to cast more spells hoping one of them would work. "Dunamis! No. Liberare! No. Annihilare! No. Emancipare! No." She hissed, starting to pace trying to think of another spell as Sirius raised a hand. "You might try-" he started making the frazzled bushy haired girl snap at him. "Quiet! I'm trying to think." Making the tattooed man instantly shut up as Hermione continued to pace.

"Hermione, he's only trying to help. It's not like you could bomb the door." You said hesitantly not wanting the female gryffindor to snap at you when she suddenly stopped with a grin. "Brilliant idea! BOMBARDA!" She shouted and with a loud bang the cell door shot into the sky and eventually fell to the ground sending a cloud of dust up. Standing shocked you turned to Hermione who smiled triumphantly. "That'll do."

Sirius said as he slipped out of his holding cell with a mad grin across his face. "Well with that we better go. That probably woke half the castle." You said urgently as Harry grabbed hold of Sirius's wrist to lead him over to Buckbeak. Pausing for a second. "The four of us won't fit comfortably. Harry hold me in your jacket, I'll ride in my animagus form." You said waiting for the boy to nod before transforming.
