Incidents & Hearings

Getting back to the castle you parted from your worried housemate as you quickly made for Sirius. Getting to his hiding place you saw the partly rocking man speaking with Crookshankes making you frown and tilt your head curiously when Sirius turned to you and perked up happily. "Oh (First/Name) your back already! So how was Hogsmeade my dear?" Sirius asked excitedly as you twitched remembering Harry's hate filled words towards the man across from you making your eyes bubble up with tears again.

Seeing you begin to cry Sirius quickly stood and rushed to you. "Oh, oh don't cry! What's the matter? What happened?" Sirius asked frantically hovering his hands over you not knowing how to help as you bawled. "Harry knows! But he doesn't know!" You cried covering your face as a bewildered look came across Sirius's face. "I'm sorry I don't know what you mean?" Sirius said as you bent forward to rest your head on his chest.

"Cornelius Fudge went to Hogsmeade to talk with some lady named Rosmerta and Harry heard the story of how you ratted out His parents and killed Peter! And now he's hell bent on killing you for revenge!" Fully understanding why you were in distress now Sirius's shoulders dropping as he gently patted your back comfortingly. "It's, it's alright. We'll just have to hold off on me meeting Harry and now focus on finding Pettigrew."

Sirius said as you tearfully looked up at him getting him to bitterly smile. "Once we find that blimey rat, and clear my name Harry won't want to kill me anymore." Sirius said lightly petting your hair as you followed him over to the makeshift bed where Crookshanks still sat. Tuning to the shabby ginger cat. "What's Crookshanks doing here?" You asked, turning to Sirius as he sat cross legged from you and smiled at the squashed faced cat as he pulled out a small folded piece of paper.

"Delivering me this! With this I can now catch Peter Petigrew!" Sirius said triumphantly when his stomach growled. "Oh, sorry. Haven't found the way into the kitchens yet. The house elfs seem to now be constantly in there." Sirius said, making you crack a smile and turn to the small pures you had to pull out a few of your bought Pumpkin Pasties and Butterbeer Fudge cakes. "Here you'll just have to settle for these until I can get back into the kitchen later."

You said getting a child like excitement to gleam in the ex-convicts eyes as he reached for the treats. "Oh I haven't had these in years! You really are too good for this world!" Sirius said quickly biting into the Butterbeer Fudge. "I better head back to my common room. A few of my housemates saw how upset I was and may still be worried about me. I'll bring you some dinner later okay? And remember don't do anything that could get you caught."

You said picking up Crookshanks before waving at Sirius who nodded. "Not to worry, I have a plan! It may take some time but it'll work." He said, making you shake your head as you left. Later as spring rolled in you watched as the newly transformed Butterflies fluttering over the great green lawn. The giant squid breaking through the last glaze of ice on the Black Lake. And the Whomping Willow shaking the water from its branches. But a sour feeling sat in your stomach after Sirius had told you of his failed plan of killing Petigrew last night as you followed after Harry, Hermione and Ron to hagrids after his hearing over Buckbeak.

"I told him not to do anything that could get him caught! Now look what happened Pettigrew is missing, and he freaked everybody out with that stupid knife!" You thought semi bitterly when Ron glared at Hermione. "I find it astonishing that someone who prides herself on being so logical can be in such denial." Ron hissed, getting Hermione to huff and up-turn her nose. "Harry. Will you explain to your friend Ronald that he has absolutely no proof whatsoever that my sweet, unassuming cat ate his shabby, decidedly decrepit rat?"

Hermione asked, making you sigh as Ron glared more. "Harry was there! He'll tell you how it was. Go on, Harry, tell her." Ron snapped, turning to Harry just as you noticed how annoyed he was as he snapped back at Ron. "No, I won't. Know why? Because I don't care about your stupid rat! I don't care about your stupid cat! I've got few other things on my mind right now!" Making Ron turn his anger on Harry.

"Really? It wasn't you who had to roll under the bed last night to avoid getting cut to ribbons! A person could die being your friend, Harry!" Ron yelled making everyone stop in their tracks as you gasped. "Ron! That was uncalled for!" You yelled moving closer to Harry as he pressed his mouth into a line while looking at the ground. "Harry, you know he didn't mean it. Com'on lets, let's continue and see how Hagrid's doing." You said lightly pushing Harry forward as everyone tried to avoid eachothers eyes, making you sigh again.

Finding Hagrid you supresed a grimace at the outfit he was wearing, it was a gigantic hairy brown suit and perhaps the world's ugliest yellow and orange tie to finish it off. Stopping near the lake's edge you crossed your arms as you watched the half giant standing knee deep in the shallows of the Black Lake, skimming rocks as big as flagstones across the water's shiny gloss. "Hey Hagrid, how are you doing? Did the Hearing go well?"

You asked as the bushy bearded man turned to the four of you. Catching a brief sight of his eyes, red with tears before he looked away you knew it didn't go so well. "How'd it go, Hagrid?" Hermione asked gently as Hagrid skipped a rock. "Buckbeak liked London." He said simply as you turned to lock eyes with Hermione as she tried again. "I meant the hearing." She said softly as the groundskeeper sighed heavily.

"Oh. That. Well, I got up an' said my bit. You know, how Buckbeak was a good Hippogriff an' as long as yeh treated 'im with respect, he'd treat you the same. Then Lucius Malfoy got up an' said his bit, you know, how Buckbeak was a deadly dangerous beast that no teacher in their righ' mind would expose their students to." Hagrid said in a fraught sounding voice. Taking your shoes off and rolling your pants up as far as they'd go you picked up a few rocks and joined the half giant in the water.

"Its okay, you shouldn't blame yourself, Hagrid." You said gently skipping one of your rocks getting Hagrid to look back at you with a sad glint in his eyes. "Draco. It's him the Committee should punish. It's him they should send off to the forest, not Buckbeak." Ron said crossing his arms at the thought of the Slytherin. As Hagrid turned back to the lake and skipped another rock. "Buckbeak's not going back to the forest." Hagrid said quietly, making you look up at him worriedly.

"Hagrid, where is he going then?" You asked, skipping another rock, getting a sinking feeling in your heart as the half giant threw down hit rocks angrily. "He asked fer the worse, yeh see, Lucius Malfoy did. An' the Committee granted it. Buckbeak's bin sentenced ter death!" Hagrid said, making you drop your rocks in shock. "No! That's way to sevier! They can't!" You said turning to Hagrid as his shoulders shook and he sniffed trying not to cry, as you turned to the others with similar shock on their faces.
