Divinations and Predictions
Sitting in Definitions across from Partavi as the normal murky smoke in the room flooded everyone's scenes, you glanced at Hermione who decided to sit with you as you turned to Ron who was sitting next to Sean while Harry sat by himself. Frowning a bit as you turned to Trelawney “Man I guess they haven't made up yet.” You thought as your professor walked her class room. “Relax. Let your mind...go.”
Trelawney said, making you turn back to your crystal ball and only see your face reflecting back in the mist within, making your face look as if the very skin seemed to be made of smoke. “Crystal-gazing requires that you clear the Inner Eye. Only then, will you... See. Oh my, what do we have here?” Trelawney said, stopping by Harrys table and eyeing Harry's crystal ball when you noticed Hermione rolling her eyes. “Here we go again. It's the Grim! It's the Grim!”
She said sarcastically making you turn to her, at her blatant disrespect as Trelawney narrowed her eyes as she turned to the bushy haired girl. “My dear, from the very moment you first arrived in my class, I sensed that you did not possess the proper spirit for the noble art of Divination. You may be young in years, but the heart that beats beneath your bosom is as shriveled as an old maid's, your soul as dry as the pages of the books to which you so desperately cleave.” Trelawney shot back making your mouth partly drop.
Turning to see Hermione's reaction as she fumbled for something to say back, she then quickly stood gracelessly, knocking your group's crystal ball to the floor making it roll and follow her out the door. Watching your crystal ball slowly roll out the doorway and hearing the semi loud thunks of it going down the stairs. Lavender suddenly gasped making you turn to her. “In late spring, one of our numbers will leave us forever! You knew, Professor! You saw!” She said making you turn to your professor as she frowned a bit.
“On these occasions, I take no joy in my gift, Miss Brown.” Trelawney said a bit disappointed as she turned to get you and Partavi a new crystal ball. After class you quickly caught up to Harry seeing that he was walking alone. “Hey Harry, if I'd known that you were going to be sitting alone I’d have sat with you.” You said when you heard Ron talking to Neville. “She's gone mental, Hermione has. I mean, not that she wasn't always mental, but now it's out in the open for everyone to see.”
He said making you frown and burn holes into the back of his ginger head when he stopped and turned to see you staring him down with Harry looking away from you hoping to avoid your growing glare before quickly rushing off dragging Neville with him. “Hhhhhmmmmmm, sigh. Hey Harry mind meeting me by the lake? I want to talk to you about something.” You said dropping your shoulders before turning to your scared friend as he followed you down the stairs.
Tilting his head at your tone Harry nodded “Sure, oh hey we better put this back.” Harry said but stopped when he spotted the runaway crystal ball lying on the landing. Grimacing at the thought of going back into the insent laden room your nose crinkled, getting Harry to chuckle. “Sensitive nose then? Wonder why you haven’t brought it up before.” Harry asked, turning to head back up the stairs. “I didn’t want to bother anyone with it and i don't think there's anything to help with it. But I find Devinations a little fascinating so I put up with it when I have to.”
You said leaning on the banister as you crossed your arms and watched Harry rush up the stairs to return the crystal ball. Waiting for him to get back you thought of how you’d tell Harry about his Godfather without him freaking out when you heard him almost bolting down the stairs clearly unsettled by something. Blinking at him you pushed off the railing. “Whoa what happened? You look super spooked.” You said worriedly as Harry shook his head.
“N-No it's fine. Just something weird just happened with Professor Trelawney.” He said lightly pushing you by the back down the stairs. Frowning at him “Well what happened?” You asked as the two of you hit the bottom of the stairs. “I don't know, the way she worded it didn’t make sense to me. But something big's going to happen tonight.” Harry said, making you stop. “Are you serious? On the same day as Buckbeak's execution?”
You asked, feeling a mixture of sadness and worry as Harry stopped as well. “Wait Buckbeak's execution's today? How do you know?” Harry asked, turning to you curiously as you crossed your arms. “After we left Hagrid at the lake I went back to ask him and give my condolences.” You said as Harry’s eyes widened. “We need to go get Ron and Hermione! They need to know!” Harry said turning to rush to Care of Magical Creatures and tell his friends before they tried to split again.
Chasing after Harry you took one last look back at the steps leading to the divination’s classroom and thought of Harry’s worried face as he came down them, before turning back to catch up to the wild haired teen. Out of breath when you reached Hagrid's class you saw that he seemed a bit out of it and depressed as he was talking about the new magical creature’s subject. Quietly following Harry as he found both Ron and Hermione at the opposite sides of the group you almost groaned as he motioned for you to follow.
“Ron, Ron. (First/Name) told me that they’re planning to execute Buckbeak today!” Harry whispered tapping the freckled ginger as he turned to him with a surprised look. “How’d she know? (First/Name) how’d you know?” Ron asked as you slumped a bit breathlessly. “I asked Hagrid, its not hard to be worried you know.” You hissed as Harry motioned for you both to follow him over to Hermone to tell her as well.
