“We should take back the diary, as proof of what happened.” You said picking up the said book as Harry nodded as he helped Ginny stand and turned to leave. Standing you turned to look around the chamber before turning to your closed fist to open it and see that the prefect badge you had ripped from your father's robe was still there.

Staring at you held it close before stuffing it in your pocket and turned to catch up to Harry and Ginny. Raising your arm you let Fawkes land and rest on it as he lightly cuddled your cheek. Hearing loud rock shifting you grinned when Ron came through and spotted his sister and smiled happily. “Ginny!” Ron yelled running forward to hug her.

“You're alive. I can't believe it.” Ron said backing away from his sister but still had his hands on her shoulders as she grinned back at her brother before frowning. “I'm going to be expelled, I just know it!” Ginny said making Ron drop his hands and roll his eyes as he turned to you and Harry.

“Remind you of anyone?” He asked making you scoff. “Don't be mean, she hasn't done that since last year.” You said shaking your head when Harry glanced around. “Where's Lockhart?” He asked making you look around as well when you spotted the said teacher sitting by himself and humming a happy tune. “I keep having to stop him wandering off. He's a danger to himself.” Ron said while shaking his head when he finally turned to you.

“What's with the bird?” He asked making you smile and turn to the phoenix. "This is Fawkes, Dumbledore's pet phoenix.” You said petting the red bird as he cooed happily. Humming at your answer Ron turned back to Harry. “Alright I got to ask, how are we going to get out of here?” Ron asked making you and Harry turn to each other semi worriedly.

When Fawkes leap of you and flew around making Harry grin slightly. “I think fawkes is telling us that he can take us out of here.” Harry said as you went to get Lockhart. “Oh hello, miss. Who are you?” He asked getting you to smile slightly at him. “Im (First/Name), and I'm going to need you to follow me please.” You said sweetly getting the blond to happily comply.

Holding Lockhart's hand so he wouldn't wander off, you stopped near Ron and turned to Harry and nodded as he turned to Fawkes. “Alright Fawkes take us home.” Harry said watching as the phoenix fly over to Lockhart and grabbed him by the back of his robe causing him to latch onto you. “Ah, oh what is it doing?” He asked worriedly wrapping tighter around you as you both were lifted out the ground.

Grabbing Ron subconsciously as you were lifted you turned to Harry as he grabbed Ginny then held onto Ron. Hearing Lockhart laugh happily you turned to him “Amazing! This is just like magic!” He yelled happily watching as the school came into view. After landing safely you removed yourself from Lockhart as he marveled at the castle school, as Fawkes flew back to the headmasters office.

“Do you guys think we should tell the professor's what happened now o-” You couldn't finish your sentence  when a lantern flashed over the five of you. “(Last/Name)! Merlin's beard, there you are! And the other missing students! Oh you lot are in quite a bit of trouble!” Spout yelled making everyone turn to her as more teachers came running.

Sucking in a breath as the crowd of teachers grew you quickly turned and pointed at Ginny. “Look! We saved Ginny, I think the main priority is to get her and Lockhart to the hospital wing!” You said getting the said teachers to look at the redhead and the blond turning the main focus on them as the teachers quickly flocked to them and lead them to the castle while Mcgonagall and Sprout stayed to turn angry looks to you and the boys.

“You lot better start explaining yourselfs.” Sprout said moving so you, Harry, and Ron could start walking back to the castle. Standing in front of Dumbledore's office with Ron and Harry,  you looked at your clothes and the boys grimacing at the muck and slime covering them as the headmaster examined the charred mucky diary, before looking up, at the three of you.

“You three realize, of course, that in the last few hours, you have broken perhaps a dozen school rules?” He asked making you nod guiltly as the boys whispered “Yes, sir.” As the headmaster continued “And that there is sufficient evidence to expel you three?” he said making bow your head further and mumble “Yes, sir.” Alongside Harry and Ron when a mischievous smile crossed the headmaster's face.

“Therefore, it seems only fitting. That you three receive special awards for services to the school. And, let me see yes, I think two hundred points apiece, which, I believe, should be more than enough to secure Gryffindor the House Cup and hufflepuff in second place.” Dumbledore said making you shoot your head up with surprise before smiling widely.

“Now, Mr. Weasley, if you would, have an owl deliver these release papers to Azkaban. We need our gamekeeper back.” Dumbledore said standing from his chair to hand Ron a rolled parchment, before turning to both you and Harry.

“I want to thank you both. You must have shown me great loyalty down in the Chamber. Nothing but that could have called Fawkes to your aid. And I sense something is troubling you Mr. Potter. Am I right?” Dumbledore asked getting  Harry to look down then glance at you before looking away. Feeling that he wanted to talk in private, you excused yourself. “I'll go wait at the bottom of the stairs.” You said turning to leave.

Getting to the bottom of the stairs you sat down on the last step and took out the Prefect pin. Lightly running your fingers over it you sighed before whimpering caught your attention, making you look up and see Lucius coming down the hall with Dobby following close behind. Quickly standing you moved your body in a way to block the pale blond path. “Dumbledore's talking with Harry right now. It'd be rude to interrupt.” You said glaring at Lucius  as he annoyedly looked down at you.

“I have important business with him so kindly move.” Lucius said using his cane to move you out of the way before heading up the stairs. Huffing you followed after angrily when Lucius entered Dumbledore's office without knocking make both occupants turn to see who just entered.

“Dobby! This is your Master? The family you serve is the Malfoys!” Harry said looking at the said house elf making Malfoy glare at Dobby and growl “I'll feel with you later.” Lowly before turning to Dumbledore moving  Harry out of his way the same way he did you. “Out of my way, Potter. So! You've returned!” He said offering a small smile to the bearded headmaster as you knelt down to Dobby.

“How've you been doing? Are your hands doing better?” You asked lightly taking the elfa hands to inspect to small burn scars, as he lightly smiled at you. “I am fine miss. Thank you for your concern.” Dobby whispered bowing his head a little with a smile before turning to harry and  gesturing to the diary, making you squint and glance at Lucius when you heard your name.

“Fortunately, our young Potter and (Last/Name) discovered it. One only hopes that no more of Lord Voldemort's old school things find their way into innocent hands. The consequences for the one responsible could be...severe.” Dumbledore said getting an icy look from the pale blond before turning to walk away.

“Come, Dobby. We're leaving.” Lucius said kicking the elf down the couple of steps before batting him with his cane, making you gasp and make a move to intervene when Harry stopped you and turned to Dumbledore. “Sir? I wonder if I could have that.” Harry asked nodding to the diary.

Watching Harry quickly leave with the diary in handed you turned to the headmaster and looked down when he was staring at you. “You met your father down in the chamber, and witnessed Harry again destroy him. How are you feeling?” Dumbledore asked quietly making you hug yourself  as your eyes watered.

“I, don't know what I'm supposed to feel. I was terrified, when I found who Tom really was. But then I got so angry that I threw caution to the wind and tackled him. But when he was being destroyed, I couldn't. I couldn't look away.” You whispered gripping your arms tightly trying to keep yourself from shaking as Dumbledore lightly hugged you and petted your head. “I'm apologies that you had to go through this.” He whispered making you nod and sniffle.

Walking down the stairs you jumped when you heard a loud bang making you run down the stairs to see Lucius scramble off the ground while staring murderously at Harry. “Mark my words, Harry Potter. You'll meet the same sticky end as your parents one of these days. They were meddlesome fools too.” Lucius said  turning to storm off down the hall. “What did you just do?”

You asked running upto Harry as he turned to you while scratching the back of his head. When Dobby excitedly turned to you. ‘Harry Potter freed Dobby! How can Dobby ever repay him?” He asked turning happily to the said boy as your mouth dropped open as Harry smiled lightly. “Just promise me something.”

He said making Dobby nod “Anything, sir.” He said as Harry nodded lightly. “Never try to save my life again.” Harry said making you snort and snicker  as Dobby sheepishly nodded before snapping his fingers and disappeared. Carefully picking up the diary you turned to Harry and shook your head as you tried to hand it to him. Shaking his head “I only needed it to free Dobby. Just destroy it.”

Harry said as the both of you walked down the hall back to your dormitories to bath, change, and get some well deserved rest. Once in your room you looked down at the diary and took out the prefect pin before carefully placing them in your trunk. Just as hannah came in smiling making you pause before running out to see Justin grinning and talking to the other. Yelling his name you sprinted forward and wrapped your arms around him.

“Your not petrified anymore!” You said happily getting the raven haired boy to nod before looking down. “Sorry for blaming Harry for what happened. I heard it from everybody! He and you went into the chamber and stopped the basilisk!” He said making you nod and happily hug him again.

At dinner you grinned at all the unpetrified people as the excitement grew. Sitting on your normal side closest to Harry and Ron with Justin next to you, you were leaning back and talking with them when Neville pointed at the door. “Look its Hermione!” He said getting you, Ron, and Harry to look. Quickly getting out of your seat you sprinted to her with a grin as she did the same, as the the boys run up after you.

Moving to the side you smiled as Hermione hugged Harry before she turned to hug Ron before they both paused before shaking hands instead. Making roll your eyes as she grinned. “Congratulations I can't believe you solved it!” Hermione said getting Harry to shake his head. “Only with loads of help from you.” He said when McGonagall tapped her goblet making the four of you to quickly sitting down as Dumbledore stood up to give his speech.

“Before we begin our feast, let's give a round of applause to Professor Sprout and Madame Pomfrey, whose Mandrake Juice has been successfully administered to all those who had been petrified.” He started making everyone  applaud happily as he continued. “Also, in the wake of recent events, as a school treat, all exams have been cancelled.”

He announced getting a louder applause just the door to the hall open making everyone turn to see Hagrid standing there looking around before walking up the aisle. “Sorry I'm late. The owl deliverin' my release papers got all lost 'n confused. Some ruddy bird named Errol.”

He said making Tritton slither up to your ear. “Told you I ssshould have gotten them a new owl.” He hissed making you grimace slightly and nod just as Hagrid stopped near you and your friends. “I  jus' want to say... that if it wasn't fer' you, Harry…(First/Name) an' Ron... and Hermione... Well, I jus' want to say... Thanks.” He muttered making you grin and nod as Harry got up to hug his dear friend.

“There's no Hogwarts without you, Hagrid.” He said just as Dumbledore got to his feet and began clapping with others joining him. Standing with your housemates you applauded as the hall roared with happiness as other students crowded the half giant.

Sad to say the second book has now come to an end, but just you wait the third book should start up soon!
