Waking up early the next morning like usual, you groaned turning over to your other side in bed. “I thought I fell asleep on the couch last night. How'd I end up in my bed?” You whispered quietly as Triton slithered out from under your pillow.

“Cedric found you curled up on the couch and brought you to bed.” Triton hissed rubbing his head on your cheek lightly. Smiling at him you lightly brushed two fingers over his head before getting up.

“You ssshould ssstay in bed. You have dark circlesss under your eyesss.” Triton protested watching you change into a new uniform. Turning to him with a light smile and shaking your head.

“I want to go help Dana and the others make breakfast. I'm sure if I move around it'll help wake me up.” You whispered lightly picking up the Redneck snake, and tiptoed out of your shared room. Sneaking out of the common room you had just barely closed the door when someone lightly tapped your shoulder.

Stifling a scream you spun around to see both Crabbe and Goyle jump in surprise. “What are you two doing here?!” You whisper yelled as both boys relaxed a bit. “We wanted to see if you were okay. We really didn't know Draco was going to take it that far last night.” Goyle said apologetically as Crabbe nodded. “Yeah, we only thought he was going to annoy you like always then walk away.” He said following you down the hall.

Shaking your head at the two. “I'm fine, just forget about it. I'm just going to stay away from Draco for now. Thanks for worrying about me though.” You said entering the kitchen with a smile. Turning to Dana who was standing with her hands on her hips angrily.

“Leave our sweet (First/Name) alone! You two and the mean blond boy made (First/Name) cry terribly last night!” Dana yelled stomping her foot at the two as the rest of the house elf's glared angrily at the two Slytherins.

Stepping in front of them. “Guys no wait! Crabbe and Goyle were apologizing! You don't need to be mad at them!” You said holding Dana's shoulders. Blinking out of her fury at that before smiling.

“Oh! I see, well if they're here with you then they want to help, yes?” Dana asked sweetly at the two boys behind you. Watching their worried faces you were about to step in when they nodded.

“Uh yeah sure, just tell us what to do.” Goyle said making you smile. “Well you two can help me whisk batter and eggs then. Come over here and I'll help tie your sleeves up.” You said leading both boys over to where you help out.

After helping in the kitchen you were walking to the dining hall with Crabbe and Goyle when the twins popped up. “Hey (First/Name) why weren't you at dinner last night?” George asked glancing at Fred who was eyeing the two Slytherins as they quickly said their goodbyes and scurried ahead into the dining room.

“Rubbing your neck awkwardly “I got suddenly sick last night, and I didn't want to ruin anyone's supper so I just went to my common room to lay down.” You lied smiling at the two when Fred suddenly wrapped his arm around your shoulders to feel your head.

“Well you don't feel like you have a fever. But you do look to have dark circles under eyes. You sure you're feeling okay?” Fred asked leaning down a bit to look at your face.

Smiling sweetly at him while pushing his face away. “Yes, but thanks for worrying about me. I should be fine, a bit of breakfast will help. So did Ginny get it your house?” You asked making the two redheads beam.

“Yep! The hat was only put on her head for only a second before shouting GRYFFINDOR!!” They cheered throwing their arms up happily. Giggling at their antics you waved at you trio of friends before sitting on the side closest to them at your table.

“So Harry, Ron I saw from the train that you two stole the Angela. When did you two get to school?” You asked leaning back to chat with your friends.

Hearing them groan you looked from Ron to Harry then back curiously when Cedric pulled you back up. “They crash landed into the whomping willow last night. They got detention from what I hear. Com'on you should eat.” Cedric said making you turn to the two Gryffindors in serprise.

“I knew something like that was going to happen! Dangit Fred you said Ron wouldn't do something like that!” You yelled worriedly getting up from your seat to look the two over.

Laughing at your fretting about. “(First/Name)! They’re fine, just sit down already!” Susan said sticking a fork full of bacon into your mouth just as you were about to protest.

Huffing you sat back down and finished chewing your food. “You two better tell me everything I need to know after class!” You ordered pointing your fork at the smiling and snickering boys.

Standing near Hermione in your group of friends in front of the green house you stayed as far away from Draco almost the entire morning knowing that he was glaring at you the whole time.

Turning to Neville as he spoke “Detention. On the first day?” He asked turning to Ron and Harry who looked away sheepishly. “That must be some kind of record.” Seamus said smirking at the two as Hermione shook her head.

“I should think you'd count yourself lucky that's all you got.” She said making you snicker as Ron replied smartly. “I should think you'd mind your own Business.” He said making both him and Hermione glare at each other just as Professor Sprout opened the door.

Standing in middle of Neville and Ron, you leaned forward to see your house leader when she tapped her wand on a couple of pots. “Welcome to Greenhouse Three, Second Years. Today, we will be repotting Mandrakes. Now, who here can tell me the properties of the Mandrake?” She asked watching as Hermione's have shot up, “Yes, Miss Granger.”

Smiling when she was called “Mandrake, or Mandragora, is used to return those who have been transfigured to their original state. It's also quite dangerous. The Mandrake's cry is fatal to anyone who hears it.” Hermione stated matter of factly making Draco roll his eyes at her.

“Excellent. Ten points to Gryffindor. As our Mandrakes are only seedlings, their cries won't kill yet. However, they will knock you out for several hours. That is why I have provided each of you with a pair of earmuffs. If you would then…” Professor Spout said picking up her earmuffs and put them on.

Glancing at Ron when he frowned at his bright pink fuzzy earmuffs you quietly traded him with a smile just as Sprout grabbed a plants stem. Leaning over to get a closer look she pulled the Mandrake out making you flinch at the loud screeching. Grimaced at the small, muddy, extremely ugly baby that popped out of the earth, with leaves growing right out of its head.

Turning away you gasped when Neville's eyes rolled back and he suddenly dropped to the ground unconscious. Crouching down to make sure he didn't hurt himself, you turned to your teacher as she spoke. “Hm. Looks as though Mr. Longbottom neglected his muffs.” She said with a shake off her head.

“No, ma'am. He's just fainted.” Seamus said helping you up as the professor sighed. “Very well. We'll just leave him then. Come now. Four to a tray, plenty of pots to go round…” Professor Sprout said gesturing for everyone to get to a pot.

Getting to your pot and grabbing a stem you bit your lip and pulled flinching at the loud cries coming from everyone's mandrakes. Carefully putting it into a pot you glanced at Draco just as his finger was bitten by his Mandrake. Laughing at him you started tucking some soil around your mandrake as it started to settle down.

“You know they're kinda cute if you really look at them.” You yelled lightly scratching the mandrakes chin when it's rooty fingers coiled around your thumb making you coo slightly as Ron and Seamus looked at you like you were crazy as they buried their plants.
