Chapter One
"No, Adam."
"Aw, come on, Max! Why not!"
"Because we're grown men."
"Yeah, grown men who play Minecraft on YouTube for a living. Please?"
Max rolled his eyes. Adam was currently trying to convince him to go to a 'sleepover' he'd planned.
"No."
"Aw, stop being such a Sad Max and join us! I already got Red, Barney, Corey, Jordan, Tristan, Tim, and Ross coming!"
Max grit his teeth. "If you weren't over the phone, you'd be dead."
"Oh I know."
The red-head contemplated his choices. He could always say no, but if Tim and Ross were going to be there, he was going to be stuck alone in the apartment for the next twenty-four hours and he really didn't want that. It would be boring as hell.
"Fine. But on one condition. No Mad Max or whatever jokes or I'm leaving."
"Because you'll be a...Mad Max?"
"Adam, I swear to God–"
"Alright, alright!" He could hear Adam's laughter in his voice. "No Mad Max jokes. Got it. So you'll be here?"
"Yeah sure. I don't want to be alone in our apartment."
"Alright! I'll see you later then, buddy!"
"Bye, Adam."
Max hung up the phone. Of course, being alone was only one reason he'd decided to go.
Ross.
Max would be anywhere Ross was. It started out as a small crush, on his friend, roommate, and co-worker, but, overtime, it had developed into something much more.
He was fucking in love with Ross.
He'd known he was bisexual for a long time, and he'd debated multiple times whether to discuss it with Adam, but then the guy would do something to piss him off or he would find some excuse with himself to avoid doing it. He knew everyone would be cool with it, but it would just be awkward, he felt, living with two other guys, especially if how he felt towards Ross came out.
"Yo, Max, you ready to go?" The red-head froze at the sound of Ross's voice outside his door.
"What do you mean 'ready to go'?"
"To Adam's party. It'll take us roughly ten minutes to get to his place and he asked us to be there by six, which is in twenty."
"Shit!" Max scrambled around for a bag, filling it with a change of clothes, his pajamas, and any other necessities. "He never mentioned that to me!"
"Probably because you were too busy arguing with him."
"Shut up, Ross!" Max opened his bedroom door to find a smirking Ross. A generic, black backpack was across his back. Max glared at him. "Why the fuck do you have a backpack lying around?"
Ross raised an eyebrow. "Why the fuck do you have that lying around?" He gestured to Max's bag. It was a tan satchel with a picture of Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon on it.
"Shut up, Ross."
"Alright, boys, ready to hit the road?" Tim appeared out of nowhere, throwing an arm around both of them. It was funny because Tim was also shorter than both of them. He was wearing sunglasses and carrying a green mini duffle bag.
"Yeah, sure, whatever. Let's just get in the car." Max was royally pissed at Adam for conveniently forgetting to mention the time.
"Okay! Who's gonna drive," Tim asked, holding up the car keys.
"I will." Ross raised his hand, and Tim tossed him the keys. The three men walked outside. Tim tried to sit up front but Max flipped him off and shoved him lightly, just enough to get him to move. No way in hell was he riding backseat.
Ten minutes later, they were pulling into Adam's driveway, already filled with five other cars.
Why the fuck was he here again?
