White~
After returning to Lostlorn Forest, I encountered Bianca who suddenly noticed my presence, rushing towards me in a hasty matter.
"White! How could you leave me with all of those reporters!? Do you even know how much effort I had to use up to get rid of them!?"
She shook my shoulders violently, which didn't surprise me at all.
"I'm sorry, Bianca. I should've known better," I replied.
"You bet you should've! Anyways, Elesa handled everything, so you're off the hook this time, but don't expect me to be so lenient next time!"
I actually doubted Bianca's words, but I would never tell her that. She would always be the sweet, kind, but unorganized girl I knew two years ago. So far, she hasn't changed a bit.
After the little lecture, Bianca led me back to Nimbasa City. Along the way, I wanted to stop by the Marvellous Bridge that was near Nimbasa City. I heard the view was wonderful, though I would argue for the Village Bridge's peacefulness.
I managed to convince Bianca to allow me to go there, despite her protests. Lucario had no issue in following me, along with Gardevoir who patted Bianca's shoulder and lightly pushed her towards the opposite direction.
"Hey! I want to come along too! Don't think you're getting rid of me that easily!" she exclaimed.
Gardevoir turned to me and shrugged her shoulders, clearly playing around to give me some peace and quiet. Lucario raised his paw to allow Gardevoir to give him a fistbump. I couldn't help but giggle at their interaction.
"I mean if you want to, Bianca. I have no objections to that," I responded.
Bianca grinned widely and ran up to me, engulfing me into a big, warm hug.
"Yes yes yes! I knew you weren't heartless, White!—Actually, I knew you weren't heartless at all, but you know what I mean!"
I laughed it off and allowed Bianca to follow me to the bridge. The last time I visited this area, the bridge was being repaired. I had stood on the bridge once, but that was only to find N. I hadn't really taken the time to enjoy the view.
As I started to cross the bridge, something occurred in my mind. A memory, I guess. I didn't have those items with me, the ones those three gave me.
Honestly, I didn't have any personal uses for them. When I learned they associated with the Legendary Pokémon from Sinnoh, I handed them over to the researchers in Celestic Town. I felt as if it was the right thing to do.
But why did Ghetsis wants me to have them? I couldn't help but think about that question. What was his purpose?
"White? Hello~? Are you awake now?"
I suddenly noticed Bianca's hand waving in front of my face. Startled, I took a step back but tripped on the side of my heel. Lucario and Gardevoir noticed my current state and rushed over to help me.
'Are you okay?' Gardevoir asked me worryingly, as Lucario assisted me in getting up.
"I'm alright," I nodded; however, my foot disagreed, as a shot of pain struck my nerves around my ankle.
"White! What did I tell you about lying to us like that? It won't help you at all!" Bianca scolded.
'I don't think she's helping,' Lucario noted.
I sighed, resting my weight on Lucario's shoulders. Gardevoir offered to teleport me to the nearest Pokémon Center, but my stubborn resisted. Bianca huffed in frustration.
"White, you wait right there! I'm going to find some help!" she declared. hustling off in an instant.
'Let's get you off the bridge at least,' Lucario suggested.
However, I shook my head.
"Wait. I want to enjoy the scenery. It's the reason why I wanted to come here, after all."
'Okay, we'll help you to the side,' Gardevoir suggested.
Lucario carried me to the right end of the bridge, carefully propping me on the ledge of the bridge. Gardevoir hastily grabbed my arm, while Lucario tightened his grip around my waist and right arm.
I'm sure they're worried that I might fall, so I grabbed a Pokéball and released Reshiram. It floated in front of me, staring down at us with unreadable emotions. I gave Reshiram a small wave with my right hand.
'Your foot...' Reshiram noticed.
I stared down at the swollen area on my right ankle, noticing how redder it had gotten.
"It's alright, Reshiram. Bianca will get someone to help me in a bit," I informed it.
Reshiram nodded and flew to the side, allowing me to enjoy the beautiful ocean view. I noticed the Basculins and the Alomomola in the water. along with some other Water-Type Pokémon. Satisfied with the view and the windy air, I hummed and let out a big breath.
I felt Lucario shift a bit. I turned to his direction and noticed Lucario staring at someone, who quietly stared at Reshiram. Lucario handed me to Gardevoir and brought out his light blue bone after very-likely noticing Bianca wasn't with the person.
"Wait, Lucario," I calmly commanded.
With Gardevoir's assistance, I stepped down from the edge of the bridge, as Reshiram quickly disappears underneath it.
"Why were you staring at one of my friends? May I have an answer please?" I questioned.
"I have never seen a Pokémon like that. However, I believe to have heard of it, but I couldn't believe my own eyes. Was that... really Reshiram?" she asked.
"Yes, that is indeed the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram," I confirmed.
Her eyes widened. "That means you are the Hero of Truth that has been going around!"
She ran towards me but was stopped by Lucario who held his bone as a staff.
'Keep your distance!' Lucario growled. Judging by her confused expression, she didn't have the ability N and I possessed.
"He's saying to keep your distance," I translated. "Lucario, it's alright. You and Gardevoir are here to protect me, so she won't be much harm."
Lucario nodded and stepped aside.
"My name is White. Who are you?" I questioned.
"I'm Rosa. I had arrived at the Pokémon League a few hours ago and defeated the Champion. However, Iris told me she was only a temporary Champion and that I still didn't have the strength to defeat the real one. I'm going to train my Pokémon so that I can defeat them!"
"Is that all you want?" I questioned, in which she stared at me confused.
I didn't know why I said that as well, but my instincts began to kick in, the instinct to protect N's pride.
"Using Pokémon like that... Don't you appreciate what they've done for you?"
"What do you mean?" Rosa asked.
"I once had a desire as similar to yours. However, when I met someone and after all the things that happened to me, my point of view drastically changed. Tell me: why do you desire to challenge the Champion and defeat them?"
She looked surprised once again, suddenly becoming speechless after I questioned her.
"The Professor told me that the Champion had a lot of influence around Unova and that she was also a Pokédex holder, just like me, even though I never really wanted it. However, I want to become the Champion so that people will finally recognize my potential," Rosa confessed, even though I knew something was off.
"To be recognized requires hard work. Do you think the Champion will be lenient towards that ideal?" I questioned.
"I don't want them to hold back; otherwise it wouldn't be much of a battle, wouldn't it?"
I sighed. "Very well, if you can defeat me, I will acknowledge your growing strength to defeat the Champion."
