Chapter 6 - Foster Sisters

White~

We were brought to a different place, a place I didn't know existed. It was like a forest, where most parts of it were covered in moss, from longs to the roof of the house nearby. There were Pokémon in the area, some hiding behind trees and some behind bushes.

Though it appeared peaceful, it felt very isolated and lonely.

"This is a place we found two years ago, after what happened in the castle," Concordia informed me.

"Yes; this was the place where we sheltered N after the incident with Ghetsis. He needed to heal himself mentally and we thought it was best if it was away from you," Anthea added.

"So this is where you've been for two years," I commented towards N.

He nodded in agreement. "After what happened back at the castle, Zekrom took me somewhere else—somewhere that wasn't where you were—and I began wandering around, thinking about what had happened and what I had done."

"You are a kind woman, White. Please do not blame N for the mistakes two years ago. When we found him in Driftveil City, we couldn't bear to see the regret and pain he expressed. We felt so powerless. We couldn't make him smile," Concordia explained.

"We travelled with him for a bit, helping the Pokémon that were victims to Ghetsis' liberation. Though some were happy, most were heart-broken. We found this place, in hopes N will heal from his past scars, yet he was afraid to confront you about it," Anthea stated.

These two years I searched for him... In the end, he was isolated in a place that wasn't visible to anyone but them. I couldn't help but be frustrated, of how my efforts were indeed in vain.

However, I stared at N, who stared at the Pokémon that were greeting him, specifically the Deerlings and Pidoves. He looked genuinely happy, which surprised me. The smile... it was so pure, brighter than any star in the sky.

"We must apologize to you, White. For two years you've been searching for N, yet he was here the entire time," Anthea apologized.

"Do not forget the few extra days where N wanted to search for White," Concordia included.

"He was searching for me?" I questioned.

Concordia nodded. "Come. Let us go inside and talk about it there."

Anthea led me to the house I noticed in the beginning. The house seemed old but from the way it's structured it wasn't going to collapse any time soon. There was moss covering parts of the roof and wall; there was even a little tree growing near the entrance.

From a perspective, it was like a small mansion. The interior was clean and fresh, besides a few small cracks on the walls, which contrasts to its outside appearance. Never judge a book by its cover, they say...

Lucario and Gardevoir were following me as well. I noticed two Gardevoirs. The one who had travelled with me over the years had her arm linked with mine, while the other one strode beside Concordia.

We arrived at the place which resembled a living room. We sat in the mahogany couch, where Concordia and Anthea sat across from me. I noticed the same Gothitelle arriving with a tray of tea in her hands, where it settled them on the table in front of us.

Gardevoir helped me receive my glass with her Psychic powers. I made sure to thank her afterwards. Concordia and Anthea reached down to grab their cups too, proceeding to take a small sip before letting their hands rest on their laps.

"N wanted to apologize to you about the incident two years ago. While he was on his journey, he met a few trainers named Ash and Iris, along with the Striaton Gym Leader Cilan if I'm speaking in the proper vocabulary," Concordia began.

"He travelled with them for a bit, despite our disapproval; N wanted to see more of the outside world, yet we feared history would repeat itself, but we allowed him to do so," Anthea added.

"It's alright, Concordia, Anthea. It was never your fault. I was the one who decided to go to the outside world again," N explained, in place of his two sisters.

I shook my head, sipping a bit of tea before placing it on the table.

"There's no need for an apology. I can't argue with wanting to protect him from the same cruelty that happened two years ago."

"Concordia, Anthea, there are Team Plasma members out there who follow the same belief as to the one we had. They are searching for me, in hopes to rebuild Team Plasma as a better organization," N explained.

"We know, N. In fact, I believe we have met the same Team Plasma members you are referring to," Anthea answered.

"White, perhaps we're confusing you a bit. Allow me to clear things up," Concordia offered.

Before Concordia was able to speak, N interjected. "Wait, I think it's better if I explained my point of view first."

He turned to face me. "White, two years ago, Zekrom took me to a place outside of Unova. I... I had some time to think to myself about what happened, about everything that had happened. Then I found myself wanting to go back to Unova, so Zekrom brought me to Driftveil City. I was worried—after what happened in the castle, I feared walking in public without being called out as a villain. I found refuge in a house, and that's around the time when Concordia and Anthea found me."

"We noticed the more time N spends here, the gloomier he gets. The Pokémon here were all abused by their trainers and were brought here by us for treatment. One day, N snuck out into the real world, hoping to search for you, as well as trying to stop this new Team Plasma. That's when he met a couple of trainers. Their names were Ash and Iris, along with the Gym Leader Cilan," Anthea explained.

"Wait, Team Plasma's back?" I questioned.

It was disturbing to know they still are willing to do awful things, even after the events at their castle. Of course, that would mean I'd have to defeat Ghetsis once again. I can't let him do these harmful things to Pokémon, especially after knowing that Pokémon and humans can live in harmony together.

"Well, there are two 'Team Plasma's' now: the one being led by Ghetsis and another group redeeming themselves with one of the Sages' leadership," Concordia answered.

"Concordia, Anthea, I suggest we join them. Perhaps we can show the world what the true Team Plasma was meant to be, where we can show them how Pokémon have feelings and deserve to be treated kindly," N stated.

Anthea turned to me. "White, what do you think about this matter?"

The place where we discussed these things also happened to be N's childhood home. As I look around the mossy area, I knew why N couldn't handle staying in this area. Even though it seemed peaceful, it was so isolated. It felt as if I could hear nature's voice when I can't.

Lucario stood to my left while I noticed Gardevoir sitting near a spring, interacting with the Deerlings and the Pidoves that resided here.

'Are you going to follow them?' Lucario questioned.

He was referring to what Anthea said a few minutes ago. She, along with Concordia and N, was going to join them. As for me, though I want to, I wondered if it was right for someone like me to join them.

'When did I cared about what the public has to say about me?' I wondered, sighing afterwards.

"It's so ironic, how I tried to change N's way when I wouldn't even change myself, neither let others change me or my ways. I had persisted in finding N for two years, despite disapproval. Now that I'm the champion—well-known to everyone in Unova—would it still be right if I joined Team Plasma when they had already experienced the stuff two years ago?"

'Are you worried about trust?' Lucario asked.

"Just a bit... Ghetsis caused a lot of chaos two years ago. Now that he's back with the new Team Plasma, I... I don't want people looking down on N," I admitted.

'Pity, or is it affection?'

"Huh? What are you saying, Lucario?" I lightly scoffed.

'...Never mind. Let us go find Bianca, or she might cause trouble again,' Lucario suggested.

I nodded. "You're right. Who knows what Bianca's doing."
