Chapter 0: Prologue
P.O.V. Third
A male with black hair and a single green eye was walking through the halls of his house. This male could be labeled as a little unusual as he was missing both his left eye and left arm. As he walked he heard a slight chuckle and smiled as he looked into his daughters room. He saw that she was getting ready to sleep and walked in. When he did his daughter looked at him and smiled.
"So how was your day?" The male asked as he looked at the younger female in front of him.
"It was great!" The female said excitedly as she looked at her father. The male smiled hearing this and looked at the young female in front of him.
"Glad to hear it," the male said looking at his daughter. The male was about to leave until he heard his daughter.
"Wait," the female said as she began to lay down on her bed. The male then turned to look at the female and she smiled. "Will you tell me a story?" The female asked looking at her father. The male nodded hearing this and walked over to her bed.
"Of course," the male said as he began to sit in the small chair beside his daughters bed. "So which story would you like to hear tonight?" The male asked looking at his daughter.
"I'd like to hear a new story tonight," the female said looking at her father.
"A new story?" The male asked looking at the female.
"Yeah, a new story, one that you haven't told me before," the female said looking up at her father. The male closed his eye and began to think hearing this. After a few moments the male opened his eye and looked at the female.
"I only have one story left that you haven't heard before, but . . ." The male began as he looked away. "It's a rather sad story," the male said as he once again turned his attention to the male.
"A sad story?" The female asked looking up at her father.
"Yeah, it's a sad story. So I understand if you don't want to hear it," the male said hoping to discourage his daughter.
"No, No! I want to hear it!" The female said looking at her father. The male mentally sighed hearing this he had hoped to keep this story a secret a little longer, yet at the same time he knew that he'd eventually have to tell her. The male then sighed and looked at his daughter.
"A long time ago there was a small village outside of the Canopy Kingdom. In this town there was a cult that believed that from the moment humans are born there is evil inside of them. So to cleanse themselves they had decided that they would "push all evil" into a single person. They thought that after that, regardless of what they did they could never be evil. This childish theory is what they believed. So it had been decided that the next child thay was born in the town would become the "vessel" and that they would become the source of evil," the male said looking at his daughter.
The female seemed a little confused hearing this but not wanting to interrupt her father nodded and continued to listen to his story. "Shortly after this had been decided a woman became pregnant and gave birth to a male with pure white hair and bright vivid purple eyes. This male was no more special than you or me, however the mother disliked the idea of parenting the "source of all evil" so much that she had completely abandoned the child. As a result the child was born without a name and was left behind. So from the moment the child was born he was cursed, ridiculed, beat, tortured, and blamed for nearly everything that happened in the town," the male said as he looked at his daughter.
"But that's-" the female began only to stop seeing the expression on her fathers face.
"He repeatedly asked why they did this to him, and repeatedly asked what he had done wrong so that he could attempt to fix it. He never received an answer and without knowing the reason for their hatred and never being allowed to leave the town the child-" The male began only to get cut off by his daughter.
"He wasn't allowed to leave?" The female asked looking at her father.
"I'm afraid not," the male said looking at her.
"Why?" The female asked a little confused.
"As much as they hated the child they couldn't bare the thought of sending the "source of all evil" somewhere else. They didn't want to take the chance of him causing harm to others. So they kept the male in the town and viewed themselves as heroes despite how they treated the child. So the child stayed there and his innocence slowly broke over time. That was until a male with long silver hair and brilliant golden eyes came to town. He was shocked with how the others treated the male, he showed him kindness, and saved him from his descent into darkness, and eventually offered to take him away from the village, and the child of course accepted his offer," the male said as he looked down at his daughter.
"I thought you said he wasn't allowed to leave?" The female asked as she looked up at the male.
"He wasn't," the male said as he looked down at the floor. "It wasn't long before the rest of the village found out that he was gone and began to track him down. They had decided that if they ever managed to find him that they would make him suffer for everything that he had done to them. So they hired several mercenaries to bring him back to the village and several villagers came with them to ensure that he was once again captured. While they were searching the mysterious male and the child had become close and eventually the male revealed himself as the primordial spirit of time, the great spirit Chronos," the male said looking at the female.
When the younger of the two heard this she smiled and began to listen a little more closely finally starting to enjoy the story. "The two spent almost all of their time together and Chronos had even given the child a name, and with this name came a new title. After all it's not very often that one of the great spirits become so found of someone. The child became the Sion of Chromatus. However it wasn't long before the villagers had finally managed to find him," the male said looking st his daughter. As soon as he had said this the females smile started to faded.
"They had noticed how close the two had grown and waited for the moment that the two weren't together. When that time finally came they captured the child and began to bring him back to the village that he had left. As soon as Chronos had found out what the humans planned to do he immediately began an attempt to save the child. He managed to defeat several of the people that had captured the child however was injured during the process," the male said looking at his daughter.
The female once again started to get a little sad hearing this but listened to her father as he continued. "Unknown to the two of them someone had survived their attack, he could see that the great spirit was injured and was going to wait until he faded before he once again attacked the child. However what he heard as the spirit died made him change his mind about the child," the male said as he stared at his daughter. A sad smile then crossed the males face as he remembered what he had seen that day.
Flashback
"C-Chornos you're bleeding!" The young child said as he rushed to the taller figures side. "I-I can't stop the bleeding!" The young figure said as he looked at Chronos.
"I know . . . I need to tell you the truth . . . I used all my magic during that fight, and with a wound like this . . . I undoubtedly have little time left . . . I . . . I want to spend my final moments with you," Chronos said looking at the young male in front of him.
"N-no we just need to-" the young male began only to stop when Chronos coughed up a small amount of blood. Showing just how close to death the great spirit truly was. The child felt tears build up in his eyes as he looked down at Chronos.
"I'll . . . I'll stay with you Chronos," the child said as he placed Chronos' head on his lap.
"Thank you," Chronos said as he closed his eyes. The male that had survived their attack stood shocked at what he was seeing. He saw tears coming from the child's eyes. He knew the demons couldn't cry so if they couldn't then what are the odds that the "source all of evil" could cry, and why would he care abut someone who was dying.
If was as evil as they said then why would he care if his friend was dying. The survivor was so conflicted about what he was seeing. He watched as the two stayed there for what seemed like hours just talking about whatever came to mind. ". . . King . . . I have something for you," Chronos said looking at the male. King was a little confused to hear this and looked at Chronos.
"I've already made you the Sion of Chromatus, and had planned to give these to you later. But . . . I don't think I'll get the chance to give them to you later. Two gifts for my Sion of Chromatus, two abilities . . . both useful and powerful in their own right," Chronos said as he placed his hand on King's head. "Use them . . . well," Chronos said as his hand fell to the ground and his body slowly started to fade.
The male watched as King began to cry as Chronos' slowly disappeared. "Thank you, for everything Chronos!" The male said as Chronos' body completely faded from sight.
Flashback end
"The male had changed his mind and never returned to the village. He thought that the less they knew the better the Sion of Chromatus' chances were of surviving," the male said looking at his daughter.
"What were the powers he got?" The female asked looking at the male. When she asked the male tensed up slightly. He didn't know the powers that the male had received. After all the powers had never been specified.
"No one knows, one can only guess that nature of his ability," the male said as he looked at his daughter. The female smiled hearing this and looked at her father.
"You were right that was a sad story . . . but I liked it! It had a somewhat happy ending! After all he could be somewhere new! He could live in a big house, have lots of friends, and use his powers to protect others!" The female said with a smile. Her father also smiled hearing this and nodded.
"I suppose that's true," the male said looking at his daughter. 'Even if it is unlikely,' the male thought as he stood up. "Well you may want to get some sleep, after all tomorrow's a special day," the male said as he began to walk toward the door. However he stopped when he heard his daughter speak.
"Hey papa," the female said gaining her father's attention. "What do you think of the story papa?" The female asked looking at her father. When she asked this the male then turned slightly to look at his daughter and the female continued. "Do you think the Sion of Chromatus is real?" She asked looking at him.
The male then smiled and looked at his daughter. "No, I don't think he's real," the male said as he looked at her. He then brought up his hand to touch his missing eye and then down to his missing arm. 'I know he's real,' the male thought to himself as he opened the door.
"Well if he was real I would have been his friend," the female said looking at her father. The male smiled hearing this and turned to shut her door.
"I'm sure you would have been," the male said ad he shut the door. The male then sighed hearing the door 'And maybe if you had been all the suffering that followed could have been avoided,' the male thought as he began to walk towards his room. 'I wonder what ever became of him after that day,' the male wondered as he walked into his room.
