[Short recap of last chapter : Alex asks Anna out on a movie date. Anna accepts. Knowing Dave to be a good guy, Anna advices her best friend to take the risk and give their relationship a chance.]

"Please? "

"No."

"Pretty please? "

"No. "

"Pretty please with a cherry on top?"

We were in the lunch cafeteria and Katie had been whining since the last few minutes. She had finally accepted Dave's proposal and agreed to become his girlfriend. Apparently Dave had asked her to sit with him from now on during lunch time.

Dave being the star footballer of our school team, sat at the lunch table with his other football buddies and thus, it was the most popular table in the cafeteria. Almost every guy wanted a chance to sit there and almost every girl wanted to be with them.

Since Katie was Dave's girlfriend now, Dave wanted their relationship to be official and so he wanted his friends to meet her. Katie was too nervous, and in her words "too shy" to go alone, so she wanted me to go with her.

"Why are you being so whiny, Katie? "

"Why are you being so stubborn, Anna? "

I sighed, "Alright. "

Katie did a happy dance as she led the way towards their table. When we reached, Dave looked up and smiled.

"Hey, " he said, standing up and giving Katie a small peck on her cheek.

"Hi, " she replied, blushing, while the boys looked at us, confused. "Guys, " he turned towards his friends. "This is my girlfriend Katie. "

A series of 'hi' and 'hello' rang through the table.

"Hey dude, isn't she the one you were stalking last year on instagram? " a boy asked suddenly.

"What? N-no. Of course not. " He replied glaring at his friend while two pink spots appeared near his ear.

"Sure, " he said, grinning from ear to ear, while everyone in the table started laughing and teasing him.

"No worries Dave. You are not the only stalker here," I said, looking at Katie, while she glared at me.

Once we all settled down, we all took a seat at the table.

"By the way, who's she? " one of the boys asked, pointing towards me.

"Oh sorry. Guys, this is my best friend Anna. Um, is it alright if she sat with me here? " Katie said.

"Yeah babe. Any friend of yours is welcome here!"

I nodded a quick thanks and sat beside a cute looking guy.

"Hey, " he said smiling at me. "Are you new? "

"Um no. "I replied.

"How come I've never seen you before or I would have surely taken you out. Too bad, I already have a girlfriend now. "

"What makes you think that she would even go out with you?" another guy beside him asked.

"Dude c'mon, I am handsome. Girls like me. " he said smugly.

Rolling my eyes at them I quickly finished my lunch.

The week rolled up smoothly and soon it was Saturday. I was sitting in front of the T. V.  and scrolling through the channels lazily. Having nothing good to do, I called up Katie.

"Wanna hang out today?" I asked once she answered the call.

"No, sorry. I have a date in a few minutes. "

"Oh. I didn't know. "

"Yeah me too. Dave called me today morning and told me that he was taking me out. "

"Sounds romantic. I want the deets later. "

"Yeah, same."

"What? " I asked confused.

"I want to hear the details too. "

"Details? Of what? "

"Your date, duh. "

"Which date are you talking about, Katie? "

"Your and Alex's of course. "

"Huh? " Crap! I absolutely forgot about my date with Alex.

"Anna? ANNA FRICKING MATHEWS, DON'T TELL ME THAT YOU FORGOT ABOUT YOUR DATE! " Katie yelled at me.

"No. I mean yeah, I might have -" I began.

Honestly, what's wrong with me?!

"WHAT THE HELL ANNA?! HOW CAN YOU FORGET THIS? "

"Jeez, calm down Katie. It's just a date. "

" CALM DOWN?! ANNA, THIS IS YOUR FIRST DATE OF SENIOR YEAR AND YOU ARE TELLING ME TO CALM DOWN?"

"As if that makes it so special. " I said rolling my eyes.

She took a couple of breath in order to calm herself down before speaking. "Whatever, I'm going to hang up now. Go and get ready. FAST!! " she said, before cutting off the call.

I looked at the clock to see I had almost one hour left to get ready before Alex came. I quickly hopped into the shower after which I went to my wardrobe to quickly pick up a casual outfit. Since it was a movie date, I chose on a pair of blue skinny jeans, a black top and a maroon color jacket.

For make up, I put on mascara and applied a light pink color lip gloss and tied up my hair into a ponytail.

Looking back at the clock I saw that I still had some time left before Alex came. I sat down on my bed and waited patiently when my phone buzzed in my pocket. I looked up to see it was a text from Alex:

Will be there in ten. You ready?

Shooting him a quick text saying yes, I went downstairs.
