I couldn't find my bird Keith pictures so.....

Everyone was getting ready for their missions, putting on their equipment and talking amongst each other before they had to go.

Keith was watching from the corner thinking about the complications of the mission allura had said that the mission was two weeks long which means my wings are definitely going to make this harder, maybe I can convince allura to let us come back to the castle a little early, then the crisis will be successfully averted, yeah it's just that simple.

Alluras voice rang from the coms loudly " Paladins please enter your lions and start your missions after your certain you have everything you'll need." The Paladins walked into their separate lions and turned on their communicators, shiro's voice was telling them instructions almost instantly. The green and yellow lions flew left and the red and blue lions flew right.

Keith and Lance were entering the dense clouds of the right side of the unusual planet, shiro's voice started glitching before completely cutting out " Shiro! SHIRO,  COME IN LANCE TO SHIRO I REPEAT LANCE TO SHIRO!" Lance started panicking and switched his coms to Keith's " HELLO KEITH, LANCE TO KEITH DO YOU COME IN!" Lance shriek " why are you yelling, please calm down we need to think this through. The coms probably went down because of how thick the clouds are and some weird magnetic force is interfering with the coms." Keith explained and Lance let out a sigh of relief " y-yeah your probably right."

They both continued flying down towards the ground, the snow and wind making it extremely hard to fly, tossing around the lions and obstructing the views of the Paladins, they could barely see each other but the lights from the lions made it so they could still tell where the other was, barely.

Suddenly a large dragon like animal appeared in front of Lance he swerved his lion, Keith saw that Lance had quickly started moving away from him and began panicking but before Keith could follow Lance an EXTREMELY strong wind blew them both rapidly to the ground.

Lances lion had malfunctioned because of the sudden force and everything went black for Lance for just a second before he was ejected into the freezing cold weather and surround by greys and whites as the storm raged on, he saw a giant red lion chasing after him but it wouldn't have made it.

Within ten seconds of being ejected from his lion Lance met the ice cold snowy ground, he felt hypothermia rapidly seeping into his body but suddenly a giant red lion had nose dived right beside him. He was covered in snow almost instantly his body going numb with just his head sticking out, justas he was passing out he saw a winged figure flying towards him like a torpedo.

Keith saw the blue lions lights flicker off before shutting down completely and the mouth of the lion opening before a flash of dark blue flew out of the lions maw.

He dove after it as fast as he could but he couldn't see anything so before he knew, he had hit the ground and it suddenly became freezing in the lion, (kinda feels like when ur havin a sleep over and your woken up by the person STEALIN UR BLANKETS LIKE A THEIF!) he quickly jumped out of the lion and saw a little dark blue from the piles of grey snow but it was a lot thicker on this planet than on earth so it made it even harder to walk threw. He saw Lance slowly sinking into the mountains of snow below them and panicked.

In a desperate attempt to reach Lance he spread his wings tearing threw his paladin suit and flew towards him.

He picked Lance up and looked around for anywhere he could bring them, the storm was getting harder to see through and he couldn't see his or lances lion. The storm was raging and he just had to find Lance.

At any cost...

Lance woke up to a warm fire lighting up a small cave with some extremely small light blue gems shimmering at the top of the cave.

He look around confused and disoriented, the only sounds that he could hear was the crackle of the fire that burned in front of him and kept him warm and tiny droplets of water hitting the cave floor. He couldn't see the water but he did hear the echo of it just barely so he could tell he was underground.

Lance sat still for a couple minutes trying to reel back his senses, his sweater that he kept underneath his suit was perched on his shoulders like a short blanket and his hair felt a little damp.

After about 45 minutes he heard a noise of someone slowly walking downwards, slowly the steps got louder until he saw pitch black hair and pale skin carrying a make-shift basket with sticks and a dead animal.

Keith set down the sticks and looked at the fire before turning back towards his catch, he took out his knife and started skinning the animal slowly making sure the save as much fur as he could. He took the meat and cut it up into good portions for two people to eat and grabbed a little stand that he had made with his knife and some extra rocks. He set it over the fire and put the meat on top and watched it cook, poking it with a stick every once  and a while, he flipped it once it looked cooked enough and waited.

When the meat was finished he cut it up and threw one or two more sticks into the fire so it stayed lit before walking over to Lance who was surprisingly awake.

He walked over to Lance with the meat and handed lances portion to him, Lance nodded his thanks mutely and began eating along Keith in total silence.

It was kinda awkward but no one wanted to acknowledge that.

"So how did you find this cave?" Lance questioned with raised eyebrows and confusion, Keith sighed before answering " I was walking and fell through the snow when I reached a taller part, I think I was walking up a mountain and fell through a tunnel of some sort. It was still cold so I walked deeper till' I found the end and set you down before walking around the cave more, while I was walking I tripped under some roots and used them to build a fire and I kept looking for resources we could use until the coms work." he explained in way too much detail.

Lance blinked than gave a tiny laugh into his hand and scooting closer to Keith " so what's the plan until then?" Lance replied smiling at Keith .

Keith blushed " well I was just planning on getting more resources so the fire doesn't go out and I still need to distill some water.....somehow."  Keith looked away while talking to hide his blush.

They both kept talking on what they should do each so they could survive, Lance was supposed to gather roots for the fire and if he saw anything that looks like meat bring it back to base and Keith was going to make something they could hold water in somehow "but how are we going to get fresh water?" Keith kept trying to think of ways but almost all the ways he could think of used the sun and because of all the clouds, that just wasn't an option " oh! I have an idea  mer people  can control water to a degree so I could probably manipulate it in a way for it to be it's safe for you to drink." Lance explained proudly while Keith was confused, then he grinned " Lance your a genius!"

''That's not fair he can't look that cute and complement me at the same time!' Lance's brain supplied while he was trying to stop his blush.

They both talked for a little bit more before seeing the fire start to die and rushing to get more sticks and roots.

Keith's wings throbbed, if he got sick it was so much harder to keep in his wings and he's been out in that storm for far too long looking for meat so they could eat but if Lance found out what would happen,

What would happen,

Would he scream at me ,

Would he hurt me,

Would he try to capture me,

O-or kill me?

No, Keith couldn't think like that he needed to get them out of here and kill an animal with a lot of fur. Lance was a tropical fish after all, he wouldn't have such bright colours if he was from the North Pole. Lance was acting like he was fine but his worn, old sweater wasn't going to help him much in this weather.

At least he was doing better than Keith, but Keith did have an unusually high body temperature so.....

He would be fine, not good or awesome but fine, and better than Lance would be.

Lance was collecting roots when he saw a small cave next to their own, he lit it up with his torch and saw their paladin armour that was soaked.

He grabbed them to bring it closer to the fire so they dried off when he noticed something, Keith's armour had a huge rip in the back, not a tiny little "we can just patch it up later with a sewing kit rip" but a " what type of 50 foot BEAR did you fight to get that giant scratch.

From inside of the suit its easier to rip from incase of emergencies but that couldn't be it because then there'd be a rip in the front not the back.

Lance didn't know what caused this but he knew one thing, he had to tell keith.

When Keith got back he saw his suit and lances in front of the fire and panicked but he also saw Lance.

Sitting there, looking anxious and afraid in the little cave.

Keith put the animals that he had caught and felt proud of in the food basket before walking to Lance and trying to think of an excuse.

He couldn't think of anything, but he sat down beside Lance and tried his best to prepare himself.

When Lance heard Keith sit down beside him, he turning so fast that he was afraid for a second he'd get whiplash but he couldn't be distracted " Keith I think I know why there's a rip in your armour and I think we should deal with it before it can deal with us if you know what I mean!" Keith looked scared so Lance continued " I know you probably don't want to see whatever got you again but I really think we should go hunt it quickly before something bad happens to us!"

Keith was trying to think of an excuse, anything to stop Lance from hunting something that didn't exist or......himself. But before Keith could stop him Lance dragged Keith out of the cave and into the snow.

We're going to freeze to death, shit.
