Branch needed help. That was certain. But he didn't know how to get help. He couldn't see. He didn't know how to fix it so he went to Doc's house. He was there with Poppy and Doc was telling him everything that he has to look out for but unfortunately, Branch's sight is gone, completely and permanently. They tried a few different ways to get his sight back but once they realised that they couldn't get it back, they started trying ways to help Branch get used to being blind. 

As they kept trying new methods to help Branch but as they went on, Branch kept hearing things that the others couldn't. He heard a noise that sounded like rustling in the bushes. "What was that?" He asked and he looked behind hm towards the window. How did he know the window was behind him? Poppy thought. "No...I didn't hear anything." She replied. "What did you hear my King?" Doc asked. 

Branch thought for a moment. What did he hear? And why was he able to hear it and not the others? He heard the sound again and it sounded slightly like an echo. "There it is again." He said out loud. Poppy and Doc looked at each other confused. "Branch? Are you sure you're hearing things?" Poppy asked wanting to make sure Branch wasn't going insane. And he wasn't!

"No! I heard it! Over there!" He pointed while running over to the window. He felt the wind coming from that direction. He heard a twig snap far away from the window, but it sounded like it was just outside. Poppy came over to Branch and asked, "What else do you hear?" Branch thought about it for a moment. "The wind. The water. The camera flashes of Mr. Dinkles photoshops." He laughed slightly. Poppy joined in his small laughter. Then she got an idea. "Hey, I have an idea." 

Poppy explained the idea to Branch and Doc and both of them thought the idea was worth trying. Branch stood in the middle of the room, Doc on one side of the room and Poppy on the other. "Okay Branch, now I want you follow my voice." Poppy said as she slowly moved around the room. Branch's ears twitched and he tilted his head towards the noise. "Doc and I are going to walk around the room and you need to follow our sound." Branch nodded. 

They started and Branch got them every time. As they went along Branch caught them faster. They couldn't take a step without him knowing. "I know you're heading for the door." He said with a smile. Doc and Poppy 'awed' and Poppy said, "Wow, we literally cannot go anywhere without you hearing." "It is clear you are getting better King Branch." (WAY TO STATE THE OBVIOUS) Doc said. "May I ask how you were so good at finding us?" 

Branch 'looked' up. His ears twitched as Doc and Poppy talked. "Well, your footsteps make an echo. So I kinda just followed that. And as you're walking I can feel the vibrations of the other objects in the room. Over there is he window." He pointed towards the open window. "I know that because I can feel the slight breeze." He walked over near Doc work table. "Over here is your table, Doc. I know that because I can hear the sound of the papers flicking in the wind." Poppy was amazed. She didn't realise that Branch had this amazing sense to locate objects without even seeing them. 

"And Poppy." Branch said to get her attention. "I know you're here because...I don't know...I can...sense that you're there. Because you've always been there, for me." 

She smiled. "And I always will."
