(Y/N) POV

I was snoozing in the med bay, I guess I haven't gotten enough sleep lately. When I initially woke up, I was a little scared. A sleeping person out in the open is a dead person with parasites aboard.

I rolled my eyes around the room, scanning it to make sure nothing was waiting for me. All I saw was Petra working on her machine.

"Your awake," she says noticing my movement

"Yea, how long was I out for?" I ask sleepily

"You slept through lights out time, so basically all night," she says I get flustered

"Oh, I see," I mutter as I stand up and feel something prick my side.

"Ouch," I mutter as I search my pockets for the object that stabbed me.

"Are you ok?" She asks curiously as I pulled out a piece of coloured metal...what the hell is that?

Ohhhhhh right! This is the hairpin I made.

Petra looks at the object in confusion.

"It's a hairpin, we have a tradition to gift newcomers with some things. I was supposed to be your gifter, so this is yours. I forgot that day was suddenly cancelled when the parasites came aboard," I say as I hand her the hairclip

"You made this?" She asks as I nod

"Yea, I certainly did," I say as she inspects it.

"Wow, it looks pretty," she says

I'm a jewellery master," I joke as she laughs

"You think you could put it on my helmet somewhere?" She asks as I nod

"Yea, sure," I mutter as I find a safe place to weave it into the fabric and fasten it.

"There," I mutter as she looks at me

"Thanks," she says as she feels around her helmet for it

"It's on your backpack, these helmets don't have anything good for a pin to grip," I say as she nods

"I figured, also my little sister would probably love this, " she says

"You have a sister?" I ask as she nods

"Yea, she's only 7, I completely adore her," she says as I smile under my helmet

"She was practically crying when I told her I was going off into space, I really didn't want to go," she says as she opens up. I've always gotten the impression that she was rather quiet...but when talking about this sister of hers, her voice just has another tone to it

"Why'd you leave? You two sound pretty close," I say as Petra retracts into her shell once again

"Oh, um, she has a really rare disease, and the treatment is really expensive. Going into deep space to research these creatures pays a lot more than the research on the ground," she says as I nod

"So you're in it for the money," I joke as she chuckles

"I guess you could call it that," she says as she looks at my helmet

"Where'd you get the leaf?" She asks

"It was a gift, just like I did with you," I say as she nods and doesn't bring the topic up again

"So....is it almost done?" I ask referring to the detector as she nods

"Just another few minutes and we can test it," she says smiling.

"Sweet, it will feel nice with both of the parasites locked up," I say as she nods.

"Yea, it would be calming," she says as I nod.

I watch her for the next few minutes as she finishes tinkering with the thing.

"Time to test it," she mutters.

"Before you do, I'll grab Newt," I tell her

"No, need, I'm here," he says at the doorway

"Come, on let's get it rolling," he says as he leads us down to the parasite.

"Will it work through walls or doors?" He asks

"Yes, as long as light can pass through it," she says as she starts hitting buttons and points it to Tia.

But now, we had all the ships crew watching as she pulled the triggered

Nothing happened...then it beeped...again it beeped, and again...and again.

She points it to Newt as it remains quiet.

"Ok, that's a pass," she says as she points it to me.

It starts beeping. As we all became surprised

"You sure that's working right?" I ask as her face becomes both really confused and suddenly scared.

"He's one of them!" Nat yells as he tackles me. I smash into the ground as the detector starts going crazy.

"I'm not a Parasite," I yell at him but his grip didn't loosen.

"You're a human murderer you pile of shit," he yells into my ear as I struggle to get him off me

"How about you stop being a whiny little kid and man up some! I haven't done jack all to hurt you, nor have I shown any sighs if aggression. If I was one of them, I've had a chance to kill Newt, Jayden, Petra and Dawson!!! They still are alive right!" I yell as he puts even more pressure on me

"Hey! Stop it!" Newton orders as he forces Nat off me

"Listen, we don't know if that technology works or not. But to be safe, we will isolate anyone who tests positive," he says to the whole group

"So it's time for some isolation for you," he says toward me in a forced manner. I could tell Newt didn't want to go through this. But it's understandable why he needs to it.

I follow him into a room

"You better not be one," he says with a tint of sadness inside

"Don't worry, I'm not, tell Petra something isn't working inside that machine," I say as he nods.

"And stay on your toes...last thing I want is to met with your wife and tell her you aren't coming home," I say as he chuckles

"Hey, if I could stay in a secure room with a strong ass door protecting me I would," he says and he leaves locking the door behind.

"Great...I'm in prison now,"

(A/N): Wow, I just about released a terrible chapter because I was tired lol. The original length of this part was 666 words, for reference it's 1007 words now and the parts are normally longer than 1000...yea it was close to bad part. Anyway, hope your liked it
