CHAPTER 4| Birthday

After a lot of pleading and assurances that I will be alright, Molly let me go out and have a job at a nearby muggle café. I wanted to do something other than planning to save people and also did not want to take money from the Weasleys for buying my school and other supplies. I got ready in my uniform; A black shirt with the café's name and I decided to wear a black pant with it. I walked towards the muggle town and then took a taxi from there to work.

After a long day of work, I reached back home; 6 o'clock to be exact. I had a shower, helped Molly with dinner, had my dinner and went to sleep. This routine went on for days. Soon it was June 5 and I sat in my bed till midnight. I slowly crept downstairs and went to Errol (The Weasley owl), tied the letter to its talon and set it free into the night sky.

The next few days went in a fair pace. I got adjusted to my day to day routine and my new life. But every day I still think about Alice, my family, my friends, and my old life. And before I knew it, it was June 10; my birthday.

A month or so before, Molly had asked me when my birthday was and I let it slip. This led to the big day today. Molly baked a cake. It was a simple chocolate cake and on top of it, it was written: HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASSIE. We (as in Molly and I, since the others were at work or school) had lunch. She wanted to take me out somewhere and get me a gift; but I refused. Giving me a place to stay was more than enough. I put on my Weasley sweater that I got for Christmas (I squealed with delight that day) and went into the Muggle town; something I did once or twice a week when I missed the muggle life. My sweater was a maroon red (My favourite colour) with a big white letter C in the middle. The sweater was not very thick and thus did not make me feel very hot; I enjoyed the pleasant weather as it was about 22 degree Celsius. I wandered around the Muggle town for a while and then decided to go shopping for my wand. I went back to the Burrow and flooed to Ollivanders.

I got out the fireplace and went to the main entrance of Ollivanders. "Ms. Smith, I knew you would come one day. Let's try out some wands shall we?" Ollivander asked me. But I was too engulfed into my surroundings; row after rows of dusty boxes containing wands. One that must be mine. When I did not reply, the wand-maker cleared his throat. I snapped my eyes in his direction, startled.

He gave me my first wand to try; a stack of books in the corner fell. I tried 3 wands, but none of them seemed fit. Suddenly, I had an idea. What if my Pottermore wand was true? I asked, "Mr. Ollivander, could I try a Hornbeam wood with a unicorn hair core, 11 ½ inches and pliant flexibility?" He looked at me with a curious yet amazed look. Nevertheless he gave me the wand; I instantly felt a warmth take over me. It was like sitting in front of a fire place with a blanket wrapped around me and a nice cup of hot coco during the winter while there was snow falling down from the sky. Ollivander put the box in a wand and I left the store after paying and thanking him. I spent the rest of the day just wandering Diagon Alley.

I was finally fifteen years old and going into my fifth year at Hogwarts (Though it is my first time in a Wizarding School). It was a long, but fun day. I couldn't wait for my Hogwarts letter and to go to Hogwarts; just like I always dreamt about. More than that, I couldn't wait to meet the Weasley twins, Ginny, Harry, Hermione and Ron. I also hoped that the letter I had sent to the trio had worked.

I did not see Sirius' name cleared in any of the news and thus my hope went from low to zero.

A/N

Hey there Amigos. This is kind of a filler chapter. The next chapter will be a time skip; to the start of July A.K.A, the day  the Weasley children come home.

FYI Cassie is a year older than the golden trio and a year younger than the Weasley twins. She is going into her 5th year, the golden trio into their 4th year and the Weasley twins into their 6th year. 😊

Don't forget to vote!

Adiós (And no I'm not Spanish) ❤
