73| Where is Sirius?

Back to Cassie's POV:

The events that happened, zoomed in my mind. The torture, Bellatrix, Draco saving me, and the mysterious person.

My eyes slowly fluttered open. "Cass!" Anne screamed and hugged me tight. I hugged her back, equally as tight. I felt that if I let go, someone would come and separate us.

"Cass! How are you feeling?" A worried Harry came rushing from the corner of the room. He propped up my pillow so that I could lean against it.

"Let her rest! Harry, go inform the others." Ginny said, and came over. "Soo how are you?" she asked.

"I've been better."

Molly rushed over and gave me my medicines. "Drink this after half an hour or so. It helps with the pain." she said, and kept a glass of liquid that looked like water, on the table next to the bed.

"I'm feeling better guys! I'm good." I said to the people who were surrounding me. The Weasleys, Harry, Sirius, Remus, and Anne were all there. "Wait! How are you three here?" I asked, looking at Harry, Ron, and Ginny.

"When we heard the news, we came home of course!" Ron said.

"What did you think we'd do? Sleep in our dorms?" Ginny asked.

"Don't worry about the timeline stuff." Anne whispered to me. "Come on everyone she needs to breathe." Molly said and ushered everyone out. Sirius and Remus protested, but Molly shoved them out the door.

I held onto Anne's arm, when she tried to walk away. She sat on the edge of my bed, my hand clasped in between hers. "I was so worried." She said quietly. Her eyes searched mine, looking for something. Pain? Sadness? Worry? I did not know.

"I'm here now." I said, gripping my hand tighter. "Who was that person?" she asked.

"Who?" I asked.

"The person who cast the light?"

"Dunno. But he looked familiar..."

"Familiar how?" she scrunched her eyebrows together.

"I feel like I had seen him somewhere. The hair, the same eyes, the face structure. It looked different but somehow... I felt familiar with it."

"Hmm..." she hummed in thought.

"By the way. How did you see him?" I asked.

"Ever since we got to the burrow, my eyes were fixed on the window. I looked away for a moment, and that's when I saw the blue light, the man and you."

"Terrance went back for classes?" I asked. He had left to see his friend or something yesterday, and had to leave yesterday night.

"Nice boyfriend you're worrying about. He didn't even come to check on you!" she scoffed.

"That's strange... maybe he had to leave?"

"We sent him a letter, and there was no response! He didn't come check on you! Nor did he care."

"I'm sure he m-"

"Cass. I have to tell you something." Anne said seriously, her hand not holding mine anymore; leaving it cold.

"What?" I asked. My mind still on Terrance.

"I've been suspicious of him for sometime now..." Anne said.

"Who?" I asked. Surely she didn't mean Terrance."

"Terrance Walter a.k.a your boyfriend."

"Why?"

"I feel like he's up to something."

"Like what?"

"He doesn't write to you anymore. Doesn't see you much anymore. And remember the time he made you drunk-ish with a potion that he carelessly got from a friend!?"

"He's literally learning to be a part of the Wizengamot. It's Law School for muggles! He's gotta be busy..." I said. I trusted Terrance with all my heart, there is a reason for him to act different.

"Wha-" Anne started, but someone opened the door. "Ever heard of something called knocking Ronald?" I asked annoyed. I was currently in a bad mood.

"Sorry." He sighed. "Mum said to tell her when you want to have your lunch." he said.

"Ya'll had your lunch?" I asked.

"Nope! But since you're not well..." he said.

"I'm well enough for food. I'll come down."

Anne decided to to drop the subject. Neither of us were interested in the conversation. Once Ron left, I explained everything about the imposter Dumbledore, the dungeons and Draco saving me.

"Anne! Come down for lunch!" I heard Molly call out. "I wanna come too!" I whined, tugging at Anne's sleeve. "You should take rest." she sighed.

"I'll be sitting on a chair." I said. "Bu-" she started but I stopped her. "Pwease?" I pouted.

"Fine! But if Molly says anything, it's on you." She said, and slowly held my hand so I could get up. It hurt a bit, but I got up and slowly walked down the stairs. It helped that mine and Ginny's room was on the first floor landing.

"Take a seat dear." said Molly, as she floated a huge pot of food onto the table. The table had been magically extended to hold the amount of people. She turned and when she saw me, her face changed. "What are you doing here young lady?" she asked, her hands on her hips. "Came down for lunch?" I said.

"You should be resting!" she said.

"I'm fine! And I have to eat." I said. "Cheers to that." Ron said. Molly shot him a glare, and shook her head in disappointment (probably at me). I sat next to Sirius, and Anne sat next to me. "You really feeling well cub?" he asked.

"I am."

We all sat down, and served ourselves. Everyone was eager to know what happened and, so I started my fake story cause I had to leave out facts such as Draco, Walburga and the fact that Walburga wanted me, Harry and Sirius dead, so that she could get back the Black fortunes.

"The Dumbledore was an imposter. He took me somewhere and Bellatrix wanted answers. She tried to get it out of me, but she couldn't. And then as per her orders, Dolohov cast a spell on me and left. They didn't want to kill me, at least not till Voldemort was there." I said.

"And how did you escape?" asked Remus. "Well, I managed to get the keys by attacking one of the death eaters and then got my wand too. I apparated and all this cause me to be weak." I replied. It was kind of unbelievable, but I hoped that they believed it.

"And you tackled down a death eater, while you felt like your dying?" asked Fred.

"Yes. I needed to escape. I was gonna die either way, might as well try."

--------

Me and Anne were sitting in my bedroom. When she suddenly got up, and opened my drawer. She took out a piece of parchment, and slammed the drawer shut. "Don't break it!" I joked.

She handed me the neatly folded paper. Now that I actually saw it, it was an actual white colour A-4 size paper. Nobody in the wizarding world uses it. The note was written with a blue ball pen, another thing that wizards and witches didn't use.

Dear Smith,
I hope you're alright. Your friend or whoever it was that helped you escape is safe and sound. Good thinking on changing his appearance. Please try to not jump into trouble.
~ R

I looked at Anne in confusion, and she was mirroring my expression. "Who is this?" I asked. She shrugged. "Don't know. It was send via owl though. A wild owl." she said.

A wild owl. The same thing that the person who sent me the braille note had used. The initial. It's an R.

"Are you thinking of the braille note?" Anne asked. I nodded. "I mean it is the same first letter R." she continued.

"What if it that person who saved me?" I asked.

"Why?" Anne asked.

"Who else would know about me changing Draco's appearance? An-" I was interrupted by a knocking. I told them to come in, and Ron and Sirius came into the room.

Ron just peeped in and said that Molly had asked me to take my medicines. Sirius came near my bed, and so Anne slowly walked out the door.

"You sure you're okay now cub?" He asked.

"I've been better. But not bad."

"I should've taken better care of you." he said.

"Who would've know Sirius?"

"Me! I should've thought about the fact that the Death Eaters are after you!"

"It's fine... nothing happened." I said, placing my hand on top of his.

"Something could have happened Cass! Take the situation seriously."

"I did take the situation 'siriusly' that's why I get out alive every time." I smirked.

"Not the time for jokes."

"Sirius. I know you're trying to take care of me. But over care causes harm!"

We sat there silently until Anne barged in. A sad smile was etched onto her face. "What happened?" I asked.

"Mum and dad sent a letter! They're coming home to see me for easter holidays."

"That's great news!" I exclaimed. It had been years since Anne last saw her family.

"But you'll be alone since you're going back home today." Anne said looking at me. We three were going back to mine and Sirius' home, now that I was feeling better.

"And I must be invisible." said Sirius.

"Not that! I-" Anne started.

"Go Anne. I'll be fine. You didn't see them for an entire year. And besides, you'll be in this country anyways." I said. It didn't take much persuasion. Anne left to pack her bags, so that she could meet her parent's at a small hotel they had booked in London.

--------

Anne left home at morning the next day, and that left Sirius, Harry and I alone at home. The boys were still asleep, since I had woken up in the morning to see Anne leave.

Not even an hour later, something daunted me. It was always there when left my side to go somewhere far. I don't know if it's worry or the true souls thing.

I cleaned up the already clean house, because I had nothing else to do. After a while, I went to cook breakfast.

I could feel a headache setting in. My mind drifted to the curse, and how to get rid of it. I thought about a million things at the same time. Dumbledore's Death this year, what changes would come over now that Sirius is alive, and what would happen now that both me and Harry are wanted by Voldemort.

"Is breakfast ready?" asked Sirius, and I turned around. He was ready in his 'outside' clothes, and looked very handsome. "What are you upto?" I asked. "Just meeting some old friends..."

"Don't you think you're a bit too dressed up?" I asked. It looked both like he was going to an important meeting, as well as a party.

"There's  nothing called 'bit too dressed up'!" He stated and started posing like I was taking pictures of him.

"I mean you look good! I made some toast, and tea's on the way." I said, brushing away a lone thread that sat on his shoulder.

Harry came in a short while after, and we all had breakfast. Sirius said he was meeting up with Remus for a while, and then heading to see his friend. He rushed out the door, when he realised he was late.

"When should I expect you should be back?" I screamed out the door, behind the rushing Sirius. "I'll be back no later than 10 I guess!"

--------

Me and Harry were alone at home for the rest of the day. Me and Harry sat down to do school work. I was falling back horribly on my studies, due to all that was happening. Me and Harry were having lunch, when suddenly there was a knocking on the window.

A brown owl stood at the window, with a letter attached to it's talon. I took the letter and paid the owl (seeing as it was an official messenger owl, and not a pet). It was from Anne, so I excitedly opened the letter. Harry who was sitting across me, raised his eyebrows in questioning.

"It's from Anne!" I smiled. I was barely away from her a full day, and she was already driving me mad. What's happening to me?

Dear Cass,
I'm sending this letter as soon as I reached the hotel. It feels so nice to see my parents and my brother again. I forgot how it feels like to be with them. My parents here for a week, and they wanted to meet you.

I'll be arriving with them day after tomorrow to your house. I want them to meet Sirius as well.
Miss you soooo much
~ Anne E. May

'I forgot how it feels to be with them' the sentence kept ringing in my head. I nearly forgot about my family, yet I missed them everyday. It hurt more to realise that I didn't exist at all in this timeline, nor did my parents meet each other.

"What's wrong?" asked Harry. "Nothing." I said.

"I think I've spent enough time with you to realise, that you're not fine." He said.

"Nothing to worry about. I just miss Anne." I said. It was partially true.

"I know you hate it when I nag you, but there's something more." He said.

"I- It's fine I don't need to talk about it." I didn't want to talk about it. But for once, in a long time, I felt homesick. I could feel my eyes fill up with tears, so I ate my food quick and went to keep my plate in the sink.

I felt two arms wrap me from behind. I turned around and hugged back the tall figure. Despite Harry being short in the movies, the real life Harry was much taller. Even though I had a wonderful family here, it didn't change the fact that my 'real family' was totally different. We were a normal muggle family.

"What really happened?" asked Harry. "I-I just miss my family." I sobbed. I could feel my tears dampening Harry's black hoodie.

"I do too." He answered. And that's when I slowly loosened myself from the hug. I had totally forgotten that Harry too had lost is parents. "It's funny though-" he laughed a sad laugh. "I never thought we could miss someone we've never met."

"Oh Harry!" I said sadly, and brought him into a tight hug. We just stood there for sometime; in each other's arms, like we were pillars for each other. I realised that we both shared the common pain of not having our loved ones. Harry's parent's were forever gone from this world. He never got to make memories with them.
As for me, my parent's don't know me. They don't know about a Cassie Smith, or even about each other. I have clear memories about them, unlike Harry. But now, they remain as memories that happened years ago. Never to be polished or relived again.

-----------

The day went pretty fast after that. It was 9, and Sirius wasn't back. Around 30 minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Expecting it to be Sirius, I opened the door. But it turned out to be a delivery man who mistook our house, for the one across us.

It was 10, and me and Harry started getting really worried. I was pacing around the living room, and Harry was bouncing his legs anxiously. "Maybe we should ask Remus?" said Harry. "I don't think we should worry him. The full moon's tomorrow, and we shouldn't stress him out even more." I said. Remus gets really moody and tired during this time, so I didn't want to trouble him.

Suddenly, Harry sprang up from his chair, and walked towards the door. "Where do you think you're going?" I asked.

"To see Aunt Petunia. Where do you think I'm going?" He asked.

"Harry we have no idea where Sirius is. We don't which friend or where he lives!"

"Maybe Remus."

"Maybe not Remus. Remus would make sure Sirius is home by now." I said.

"Then I'll go look for him."

"Nope!" I said, pushing Harry away from the door. I took my wand from the coffee table, and went to the door. "You're not going." Harry stated.

"Why not?" I asked.

"You didn't let me go!" He said. "Harold, I'm not going for party. I'm going to look for Sirius!"

"Well then I'll join you!"

"No! If I'm not back in an hour start to worry. If you don't get any sign after two hours, alert the order." I said.

Harry held my wrist. "It's dangerous out there! What if Sirius was kidnapped?"

"Then we must find him." I said, and dashed out the door before he could say anything. I check the nearby places. Parks, diners, cafes and even went to Grimmauld Place; but he was no where to be found. Then a thought came to mind, I went to all the nearby Bars in search of him.

And then suddenly it hit me. Many of the places Sirius visited now, were his favourite places, or places that had an emotional connection to him. I remembered seeing a picture in the old box that belonged to Sirius.

Lily, James, Sirius, Remus and Peter were all at a Muggle bar. I apparated back home, and knocked harshly on the door. With even a wait of a second, Harry opened the door, wand pointed at my face.

"Move!" I said, and gently pushed him away. "What happened?!" I heard Harry say as he followed me. I went into Sirius' room and check through the mess. His pajama was carelessly heaped on a chair. A small stack of books was there on his night stand. Two magazines were on the bed. It was messy and clean at the same time. I checked around the room frantically, and finally found the box.

"What the hell happened?!" I heard Harry say, but I kept sorting through the pictures. I found the name of bar on the back of the photograph.

I rushed back out the door. "Cassie Smith! What happened?" You're scaring me." said Harry.

"I think I may know where Sirius is." I said and dashed out the door once again. I apparated to the place I saw in the picture, and went inside.

The smell of alcohol and sweat hit me when I entered. "ID please ma'am." said a man who stood there next to me.

Oh shit! I had totally forgot that I wasn't of age in the muggle world. "I left my ID at home. Sorry. It's been a long day." I said.

"I can't let you in without and ID." He said.

"I'm not here to drink. I'm here looking for somebody. I'll find him, and then take him home. That's it!" I said.

"Sorry miss, but I can't do that."

"You can come with me then! Make sure I don't drink at all!"

"Ma'am I ask you to leave."

I took my wand and casted a confundus charm. The man looked dazed and I took the opportunity. I went in, and scanned the place. I looked for a solid 5 minutes, and then I found Sirius sitting on the counter area.

"Sirius!" I said and ran forward. He was on the urge of passing out. "Oh hello cub!" He slurred. He eyes looked dilated. "Do you know him ma'am?" The bartender asked. I nodded. The bartender asked me take Sirius away, seeing that he had drunk over the limit.

The bartender also started laughing when he told that Sirius was saying rubbish about a place called Azkaban, Magic and other crazy stuff. Of course I knew it wasn't crazy, but I wasn't gonna correct him.

"Sirius.. Wallet please." I asked. He looked at me for a second, and then smiled. "It's in my pocket." He said. "Then give it." I told.

"Noooooo" He whined like a child. "I'm not gonna pay until he gives me another shot!" He shouted.

"Look. I'll call security." The bartender said. "I'm sorry I'll pay. Just a minute."

Sirius wouldn't budge, so I had start searching for his pocket. "Hold still." I said, as I struggled. Sirius just laughed. "Sirius my dear, please I'm begging you! Where is your wallet?!" I asked pulling at his white shirt.

"Not telling...." He sang. I leaned into his ear and whispered. "I'll buy you an entire bottle of firewhiskey." At that, his eyes shot up, but still drunk.

"Make that two." He slurred and sloppily held up 3 fingers. "That's three." I said. "No. This is two." He slurred again.

"Give me money Sirius!" I demanded.

"Ayyy I already put it in your Gringotts." He said.

"Sirus.." I warned. "Fine. It's in my pocket."

"Which pocket?" I asked, and he shrugged. I started an argument with him, but barely got a response. "I don't know what lovers quarrel is going on here. But ma'am please pay and take him away." The bartender said.

"Lover! No no. He's my father." I said hurriedly. I was now searching for his jacket.

"Father?!" A young lady peered at me from the other side of Sirius. "Yea." I said dropping to the floor to check if the jacket fell.

"He looks young." He said.

"I am young." Sirius said, turning to the lady. "But you have a daughter don't you? You have a wife?" she asked.

"Nope! He adopted me! Did u by any chance see-" I stared but I saw that the jacket was on the lady's shoulder. "Can I have that?" I asked. The lady shrugged it off and gave it to me. I took at the wretched wallet and paid.

"I can't leave!" said Sirius, and I tried to pull him away. "What now?" I sighed. "I saw Reggie!" He cried. "Reggie? Sirius, he's dead." I said sadly.

"I'm not!" he said.

"Yes you are."

"Nope!"

"Yes."

"Nope!"

"Sirius let's go, or the Order will come look for you. Come on." I said, and dragged him away. This man was heavy!

I stumbled on his weight, as I dragged him out the bar. He was taller than me, and this made it harder to walk. "I need to-" Sirius said and ran away from my grip; puking on a bush in the side walk.  I lightly gagged at the scene. We couldn't apparate because Sirius was drunk and senseless.

We walked more, and then finally found a taxi. As always, we got down at the park and then walked. Sirius was completely out of it by now. He was sleeping in the taxi. I got him out and dragged him all the way into the park, and onto a bench.

"Don't move. I'll be back." I said, and went to the washroom. I casted a patronous quickly, asking Harry to come to the park, since I couldn't drag Sirius anymore. I then bought a bottle of water, and came back to the bench. However, Sirius wasn't there.

My heart skipped a beat, and I'm sure it stopped working as I looked around. I then found him and I breathed out the breath I was holding. Sirius just slid down on the slide, and then went on the swing. A bunch of kids and their parents looked weirdly at Sirius. Some parents even moved their children away.

"Sorry!" I said, and went over to the swing. "Sirius... get down!"

"Nope!"

I went over and harshly stopped the light swinging of the swing. I then dragged him back to the bench. I made him drink the water and then Harry arrived.

Harry and I dragged Sirius back the house. We both laid him down his bed, and I removed his shoes, since he was completely blacked out now.

"Where'd you find him?" asked Harry as we both stretched out arms. "At a bar. Your parents, Remus and Sirius visited there once or twice before."

"Is that why you came back for the picture?" he asked, and I nodded. Me and Harry went to sleep after a while, but I couldn't sleep.

I laid on bag; staring blankly at my ceiling. How did Sirius see Regulus? Regulas is dead! And then my mind drifted back to the incident; the familiar face that svaed me.

Now that I think of it, he did look a bit like Regulas. And then someone else came to my mind. Who was the friend Sirius saw? Why was he in that bar? Did he see Regulas there or before that? I let out a sigh. I'm in great need for Anne's smart brain.

I had to make the house spotless. After all, first impression was the last impression. Well technically, her parents had seen me a long time ago, but it was different now.

A/N:

I apologise for the delay in writing. I've just been really busy with school. In Harry Potter terms, I'm in my seventh year, and I'm preparing for my N.E.W.Ts.
In normal terms, I'm in my final year of schooling, and preparing for my Board exam. 12th boards are very important for our future studies and career. So I needed to focus on it.

Moreover, I didn't get the time to write, and struggled a lot with writers block because of stress. Once again, I emphasis the fact that I'll never stop writing/ updating  TRULY REALITY. This is my baby, and I'll always take care of it.

For updates, and to keep in touch, u can follow my account @blackhairedweasley2 on instagram, and let me know if ya'll want a live to talk about Harry Potter, TRULY REALITY and DEAR CHOSEN ONE.
