72| The Mysterious Savior
Just a head's up that this chapter switches between Cassie and the rest of them in Annalise's house and stuff.
THIRD PERSON P.O.V
"It's been long. Why isn't she back?" Sirius paced around the house.
"She's with Dumbledore, probably something important." Remus assured him.
Minutes passed by, but Cassie didn't return. Anne and Remus getting worried, sent a Patronus to Dumbledore, but there was no reply.
Where was she?
---------
"Let me go." Cassie sneered, as a binding spell was cast on her. A maniacal laughter filled the room. The person who was acting as Dumbledore, took a step back; as if scared.
"Oh dear..." Bellatrix drawled and cast a Cruciatus. Cassie writhed on the ground, her screams enveloped the room. As if music to their ears, the death eaters stood and watched. "You filthy mudblood!" Bellatrix roared. "Tell us everything!" she stopped the curse.
She kneeled next to the panting Cassie. "Tell us how to defeat him. How to defeat Potter." she said; her face mere 1 inch apart from Cassie. She shook her head, which was not accepted by Bellatrix.
A few curses more, but Cassie wouldn't budge. "Some use you should be." One death eater said.
"Why don't you activate the spell Lestrange? Fully bind her to the dark magic?" Another one asked.
"I need someone for that. The one who cast the spell in the first place."
"Call them then!"
"I cannot! Not now. She won't come here now." Bellatrix said.
"Did you just say 'she'?"
"Why? Can't it be a 'she' Dolohov?" Bellatrix asked scarily. "Of course ofcourse."
"Why the mockery?!" Bellatrix roared.
"Can I have her now Lestrange?" Greyback stared maliciously at Cassie. "No not now. Maybe later. For now, Dolohov."
A smile appeared on Antonin Dolohov's face, as everyone except Greyback and Bellatrix left from the room. He raised his wand. "Don't kill her yet." Bellatrix warned. Dolohov sent a streak of purple light to Cassie.
She hissed in pain, as she didn't know what to do. Wandless and weak, there was nothing she could do.
Belltrix and Dolohov left the room, but the third person remained where he stood. His hungry eyes stared at Cassie, who was sobbing on the ground.
He paced towards her and with one swift motion, picked her up and slammed her to the wall. "Let me go you monster!" Cassie squealed and kicked. Greyback lifted his hand up, about to strike Cassie when somebody said from the other side. "Didn't Aunt Bella tell you to leave her alone?"
"What are you going to do about it? Tell your father?"
"I think Aunt Bella and the Dark Lord would do good with the information."
As if mentioning Voldemort had turned off a switch inside of him, Greyback let go of Cassie and walked out the door. Draco's eyes followed Greyback, until he had left and slammed the cellar door behind him.
Draco loosened up and rushed towards Cassie. "Are you okay?" he asked placing a hand on Cassie's shoulder.
"Ya think?" she asked.
"I'll help you escape tonight. Do you think you'll be fine till then?"
Cassie nodded.
--------------
Time passed by slow at Annalise's house. "I'll alert the order." said Remus and got up from his chair. The three of them went to the Burrow, once the order was told of the incident.
Pure chaos spread across the Burrow. The tiny space of the house was filled with the Weasleys, apart from Charlie, Percy, Ron and Ginny who were still at Hogwarts. Annalise, Remus and Sirius were also present.
The rest of the order members went on a search to find Cassie. Annalise stood in a corner of the house. She knew something was wrong. Unknown to the others, there were some facts she knew. The curse, Draco Malfoy and the possible true souls.
But more than all that, what troubled her was that she was feeling something else. She felt this small pain all over her body. It would stop and start again. Now she felt like she was slowly dying, and she hoped with all her heart that it was not Cassie who she was feeling.
----------
Cassie felt her life slowly draining. When she refused to answer any of their questions, Dolohov had cast the same spell that was once cast on Hermione in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries.
After, they had not turned back. She vaguely heard someone say from outside the cellar, that they would summon Voldemort, if she was alive for tomorrow.
The cold dark cellar, didn't give any indications of the time of the day. She had been in the manor for hours now, and the eerie silence indicated to her, that everyone probably went to bed.
The cellar door slowly creaked open. Cassie tried to stand up, but it was in vain. The figure came closer and closer to her, and then went to kneal down next to her. Cassie turned her head to the saide, in fear o what would happen next.
The person gently laid their hand on her shoulder, and she flinched. "It's me Cass." The person whispered.
On hearing the familiar voice, a new found energy surged through her body. Cassie leaped onto Draco, tears streaming down her face. "We have to get you out of here, before any of them wake up." He said.
Cassie got up with the help of Draco. She hissed in pain, as they took a step forward. "You reckon they're still at Anne's house?" he asked. Cassie shook her head in disagreement. "Don't know." she chocked.
"I don't think walking is gonna work. Can I carry you?" he asked. Cassie didn't care what he did. She just wanted to get out of this hell hole.
He put on arm on her back , and the other at the bent of her knees. He carried her all the way until the they reached the outside of the manor. "Hold on tight. We're gonna apparate."
They apparated to the front of Anne's house. They went to the front door. Draco gently let Cassie sit on the porch, and knocked on the door. There was no reply. "They might be at the Burrow then." Cassie said quietly.
"I don't where that is or how it looks." Draco murmured sadly. "Give me my wand, I'll apparate." Cassie said, weakly extending her hand.
"You're gonna die if you put any stress."
"And I'll die, if I don't go to the Burrow."
"I'll call Anne."
"How? You don't know how to cast the Patrnous Charm or anything!"
"Bu-"
"Give me my wand Malfoy!"
Draco rolled his eyes, and disapprovingly gave her the wand. She pushed against the wall and put an arm around Draco to get up. "Promise me that if anything goes wrong, you'll leave me there and apparate." She said.
"No! Of course not!" He eyes widened in horror.
"You want to get caught?!"
"I'm not gonna let them get you!"
"Trust me. If they are in the Burrow, that place is gonna be packed. Someone will come out to save me."
"I'll make sure someone comes at least." he sighed.
Cassie put her hand forward; palm facing the sky. "Promise me Draco."
"I'll try." He said.
Cassie shook the hand aggressively. Draco nodded his head, and put out his hand on hers. "I promise."
Sometimes Draco didn't even know why they were friends in the first place. Maybe it was destiny? The only light he had, while darkness surrounded him and his demons haunted him.
"Hold on tight." Cassie said. Two meanings to it actually. It was both for apparating, and also because her legs were slowly giving up.
They landed in the green patch of grass that was a few metres away from the burrow. Cassie immediately fell to the ground. Her normally olive skin, was now pale. "Cass we're here. Don't give up now."
Cassie weakly took out her wand. She pointed it at Draco, and he knew something was happening to him.
"Look who's here?" smiled Bellatrix, looking over the two people who were on the grass. Draco stiffened at first. He was caught.
"Who are boy?" she sneered at Draco. He looked at Cassie, who gave a weak smile. She had changed his appearance. Bellatrix kneeled in front of Cassie. "You thought you could escape you mudblood?!" She screamed, and pointed her wand at Cassie.
Suddenly someone disarmed her. "Leave!" Cassie hissed to Draco. "How dare you! Whoa re you!" Bellatrix demanded, at the person who just disarmed her. He looked familiar to Cassie, but she couldn't point a finger where.
The person cast a blinding blue light, just as Draco's disguise started disappearing. Bellatrix dissaparated, and so did Draco after giving a light squeeze to Cassie's hand.
Cassie hard muffled voices rushing towards her. She felt some very close to her, so with all her strength she said. "Same curse Mione' got at the Ministry. Purple." She mumbled and then she went unconscious.
"Don't you dare close your eyes Smith!" Anne cried. Sirius carried her all the way to the Burrow. The burrow got even louder with people treating her, and people who went to call the healer.
In all this chaos, two people were quiet. One of them was someone who would never stop talking, even through stress. Someone who would take the craziest of decisions; Sirius Black.
Anne stood silent, holding Cassie's right hand. She stared at Cassie, if that would wake her up. Sirius Cassie's other hand. "I can't lose you too cub." He silently cried to himself.
