70| Tinker Bell
We rushed to the infirmary. Ron laid unconscious on the bed. "This isn't how we imagined handing over our present" said George.
"Yeah, when we pictured the scene, he was conscious" said Fred.
"There we were in , waiting to surprise him-"
"So, all in all, not one of Ron's better birthdays?" said Fred.
"You knew didn't you?" whispered Harry as he came closer to me. "Sorry Harry." I whispered back. He still didn't look that happy with my apology.
Someone suddenly burst into the room. "Where is he?! Where's my Won-Won? Has he been asking for me?" Lavender Brown panted.
She looked at Hermione. "What's she doing here?"
I remembered this scene, and a small smile etched onto my face. I held in my laughter.
"Might ask you the same question?" asked Hermione.
"I happen to be his girlfriend." said Lavender angrily.
"I happen to be his... friend."
"Don't make me laugh. You haven't spoken in weeks! I suppose you want to make up with him, now that he's suddenly all interesting." she cried.
"He's been poisoned you daft dimbo!" Hermione said annoyed. I snickered and Lavender glared at me.
"And for the record. I've always found him interesting." she added. Ron started to mumble something and Lavender came forward. "See. He's sensed my presence. Don't worry Won-Won. I'm here." she said dramatically.
"That's exactly his worry." I whispered to Harry. Ron kept mumbling. "Her-my-nee" he breathed out. Lavender stormed out the door crying, and Hermione held his hands.
The teachers left the infirmary. Ginny walked towards me and Harry. "About time don't you think?" she asked. I gave a knowing smiling to Hermione and wiggled my eyebrows. "Oh shut up." she said, blushing.
"Come one Harold. Let's leave the love birds be." I said dramatically and we both left.
As we were walking towards the common room, I saw Anne walking towards me. "Hey Harry!" she greeted. "Is Ron alright?"
"Yeah." we said .

I was in the room of requirements with Draco. "Sorry again about Weasley. I didn't mean to-" Draco started as he kept tweaking with the Vanishing Cabinet. "I already told you that it's okay. You have do what you have to do."
I sat silently reading my History of Magic textbook. I went there often to keep Draco company. It was silence, except when Draco occasionally kicked at the cabinet when he got frustrated.
"What happens when I fix it?" he asked.
"What?" I asked, keeping my finger on the page and closing the book.
"What will happen to you and Anne, when I fix it?"
"Umm... the Death Eaters arrive. We fight along side in the fight.."
"You will do nothing. Just hide from the others please?" he asked.
"You're joking right?"
"No."
"Surely you don't expect me t-"
"I do. What part of 'the dark side is after you' do you not understand? As per the plan, there will be a number of Death Eater arriving. To take you along, and fight Dumbledore."
"I'm not gonna stand or hide somewhere and be useless Draco!"
He opened his mouth to retort, but then closed it just as fast. "You know what? It won't happen any time soon by the looks of it. We'll figure it out then." He said as he looked at the Vanishing Cabinet.
It was at times like this, that I cursed myself for not thinking ahead. I had written important information for the others and kept it in bedroom in Sirius' house. With my own problems now, I kept forgetting about different incidents, and when they took place.
I knew now that Draco would soon get hit with the Sectumsempra, Harry would see the memeories of Slughorn (even though it doesn't affect me) and Dumbledore would die.
The only date I remembered was 2nd May, 1998; the day of the Battle of Hogwarts.
----------------------
I decided to forget everything that's happening around me. My mind however, would bring back the thought that once the dark side takes control of me, it's game over for the others.
"Come on Cass. The match'll cheer you up." Anne dragged me across the library. I was nose deep into this wizarding novel. "We're getting late!" she said, and earned a glare from the librarian Madam Pince. 'Sorry' she mouthed to the librarian.
"But I'm almost done!" I squealed
Anne looked at the pages left. "That must be at least 50 pages!" she said, and dragged me across the library.
"Fine." I chuckled. "Let me at least check out the book."
I signed in the library record, and followed Anne to the Quidditch grounds. Almost everyone was almost seated. I saw Luna in the commentators box, and that's when I remembered about this match.
This was going to be interesting. I knew Cormac McLaggen was going to be a pain in the ass for Harry, and that Harry would end up in the Hospital Wing. But Luna's commentary would make it better.
Luna saw me walk by, and gave me a wave. I waved back. I went and sat next to Neville and Hermione. "Excited for the game?" I asked him. He nodded and jerked his head back to the ground, when the players started to enter.
The game began, and I could here some people snicker and het annoyed by Luna. 'And that's Smith of Hufflepuff with the Quaffle,' said a dreamy voice, echoing over the grounds. 'He did the commentary last time, of course, and Ginny Weasley flew into him, I think probably on purpose, it looked like it. Smith was being quite rude about Gryffindor, I expect he regrets that now he's playing them - oh, look, he's lost the Quaffle, Ginny took it from him, I do like her, she's very nice...'
'... but now that big Hufflepuff player's got the Quaffle from her, I can't remember his name, it's something like Bibble — no, Buggins —'
"It's Cadwallader!" said Professor McGonagall loudly from beside Luna. The crowd laughed.
Through out the rest of the game (as expected), McLaggen kept on leaving his post. He went to Ginny and the other players and started 'teaching' them the right way to do things, and scolding them.
The annoyance that was spread over Harry's face was evident even from this distance.
'And Harry Potter's now having an argument with his Keeper,' said Luna serenely, while both Hufflepuffs and Slytherins below in the crowd cheered and jeered. 'I don't think that'll help him find the Snitch, but maybe it's a clever ruse...' Luna stated.
Gryffindor soon grabbed points, and so did Hufflepuff, but Luna was zoned out. "When I heard Luna would commentate, I was happy. I guess she wasn't made for this." Neville said to me, looking at his girlfriend who was in the commentators box.
"Will you give him back his bat and get back to the goal posts!" roared Harry, pelting toward McLaggen just as McLaggen took a ferocious swipe at the Bludger and mis-hit it.
The crowd gasped and some of them even got up, as Harry plummeted to the ground. The bludger had hit him.
Anne, Hermione and I quickly exited the stands, and accompanied Harry in the Hospital Wing.
I hanged out with the rest of them in the Infirmary and Anne left after a few minutes. Harry didn't seem to worry about himself, but rather about Draco. He started talking about how he saw Malfoy sneaking out with two girls to the room of requirements.
"Do you know anything about it?" Harry asked me. So far as they know, I'm sneaking on Malfoy.
"Nothing. He still doesn't trust me enough." I said.
"So you go spend hours with him. And he just stays silent?" he asked. I knew Harry had taken note of whenever I was with Malfoy. He was becoming and extremely paranoid person.
"No. We do talk. Just not Death Eater stuff."
"So what do you talk?" he pushed.
"That is between me and him. Nothing important."
"So you are in fact enjoying his company?" Harry asked.
"I didn't say so." I crossed my arms. Hermione and Ron just stood still. Hermione looked at Harry, as if to tell him to stop.
"So you just go around sneaking into dark corridors and broom closets to talk about the future?" he pressed.
"Pretty much. And besides, I thought we were past the broom closet story. I told you what happened."
"I'm starting to have doubts on that."
"Harry! Are you even listening to yourself?!" I got louder.
"And do you know what you're doing?" he screamed.
"Of course I do!"
"Mate, aren't you obsessing a bit to much over the whole Malfoy thing?" Ron asked, Harry.
"I wouldn't have to work so hard, if someone would just tell the truth!" He glared at me.
"Shhhh!!" we heard Madam Pomfrey say. "This is an infirmary, not your common room. Visitors out." she said.
"Harold, I know what I'm doing. Trust me." I said. Me and Hermione went back to the Common Room.
"Just between us. Is Malfoy really a death eater?" Hermione asked. I smiled and left to my dorm room, as if I didn't hear a thing.
A few days later, Draco called me and Anne to the Room of Requirements. He had happiness etched onto his face. "Why so happy?" asked Anne.
"Cass, hold out your hand." he demanded; the smile still on his face. I stretched out my hand and opened my palm. Draco dropped a chain on my hand. I looked at him questioningly.
"It's a protection charm. Take care of it. It cost me a fortune." he said.
"How much was it?" I asked.
"It doesn't matter."
"Let me pay. At least half of it please!"
"Look. Consider it as a gift. It's not as good as the ring. But it will work for a while." he said. "Put it on!" he urged.
I put it over my head, and onto my neck. Draco held out his wand, and murmured something. "Now only you can remove it. Sort of."
"Sort of?" asked Anne.
"I'm pretty sure Aunt Bella and all knows the counter curse. But it may not cross their mind at first, that it is spelled." He said.
"Thank you so much!" I said, and before Draco could say anything else, I pulled him into a hug. He melted into the hug, and hugged me back.
"Awww group hug!" said Anne, and ran towards us, and wrapped her arms around the both of us.
Draco was restless. He didn't notice time fly, as he fixed the cabinet. He got more and more cranky as time went on. He startled all of us, when he kicked the cupboard too hard, and a goblet which was on the top of the cupboard (pretty sure Anne put it there) fell on the floor. "Fuck!" he cried.
"Okay now Tinker Bell. I think that's enough tinkering for today." I said, and held his shoulders. He stiffened and I guided him to the sofa. Anne laughed at what I just said. "What is a Tinker Bell. And no, I cannot rest just yet."
"When did you sleep last night?" I asked, kneeling in front of him " I did sleep today in the evening." he replied.
"That's a nap Malfoy." Anne said.
"A few more days of this, and the younger students will start calling you Uncle Malfoy." I told him.
"I don't have time." he breathed out. His eyes widened at the thought. "He will no leave me alone. Nor my mum!" His breathing became faster.
Anne, who was sitting next to him, gave him a hug. "Shhh...Everything's gonna be alright." she cooed. I went back to get some water, and that's when I realised that this is the room of requirements. I thought hard, and a glass of water appeared on the table in front of me.
I walked back to give him the water, when I stopped. Anne had her head on his shoulder; rocking him slowly to calm him down. This was Anne. She knew how to make anyone better. She looked at me and gave a small smile, and I felt my heart flutter.
"Drink up." I said, giving him the water. An hour or so later, he felt better. He slept on the couch. "I'll stay here. You go back." I told Anne. "You need company." she said, and sat on a chair. I took Draco's blazer and put it over him as a blanket.
Anne and me both slept on two cushioned chairs near by.
----
I woke up in the middle of the night. I looked around, and Draco was sleeping soundly. I looked over at Anne, and she was sleeping in a fetal position. I could tell she was cold. I went and covered her with the shawl I was wearing (I was wearing it as a scarf during the day).
Next day morning, me and Draco seemed to have woken up at around the same time. Yet, we all woke up differently than how we slept.
Draco's blazer was now on me, Anne was in the shawl and Draco was just in his white button up shirt.
"I woke up in the middle of the night, and you were shivering." he said sheepishly. "I could say the same about Anne." I said, looking over at the sleeping girl.
After an hour, Anne was still not awake. I went over and called out her name, but she remained sleeping. I shook her awake, and she just moaned angrily and went back to sleep. Draco tapped me on the shoulder, and held up a finger to his lips.
"Aguamenti!" he said, and a jet of water poured out of his wand, onto Anne. She startled awake, and once she came to her senses, glared at Draco. If looks could kill, Draco would be six feet under the ground.
"I'll pick up our stuff. You can go." I said, and Anne happily exited the room. Everyone who knew Anne, knew that she wasn't a morning person. She would act cheery, but if you gave her any work, she would silently curse you.
I picked up the books and quills that me and Anne had brought yesterday, and headed out the door with Draco. We were about to part ways, when I called him. "Draco?" He turned back. "Hm?" he asked.
"Harry's spying on you. Please be careful." I said. He nodded and I walked towards the Common Room. It was early morning, and I expected no one to be awake. But when I entered the common room, I was met with the angry face of Harry.
"So now spying includes spending a night with him?!" he asked angrily.
