Make you love me

Logan got up the next day, a plan in mind. He would act more friendly, more emotional, and less aggressive, like Patton. It couldn't be that hard.

He got up and changed into his one pastel blue and green long sleeved shirt, and resisted the urge to put on his tie. Logan walked out, catching the attention of Virgil, who was walking to the kitchen for breakfast.

"Logan, why are you wearing that?" Virgil called out.

"I want Roman to love me, so I'm going to fake being more emotional." Logan smiled widely.

"Lo, you have to know that's a bad idea, Roman won't fall in love with you in a day, and then if  he fell in love with some fake version of you, you would have to fake it 'til your last day, do you want that?" The emo reasoned.

"I have to try, just, don't tell Roman." Logan pleaded.

"Fine, but if you try and fake it for a week, I'm stopping you." Virgil groaned.

"Noted," the teacher nodded, joining Virgil on his quest for adventure.

The two entered to find the two others covered in pancake batter, a stack of pancakes large enough for all of them sitting on the counter.

"What did you do?" Virgil cried out. Logan bit his tongue and tried not to scold the boys. Instead he walked forward, and took a bit of the slimy mix from the bowl, and threw it at Roman.

"Got you!" He smiled forcefully, laughing.

"Woah, Logan's in a good mood today!" Roman laughed, wiping the batter from his chin, and sticking it in his mouth.

"Hey, don't eat that! It has raw eggs!" Virgil cried out.

"Lighten up Virgil, you don't always have to be so uptight!" The words flooded out of Logan's mouth. Everyone stood shocked before the more cheerful two started bouncing up and down.

"I take it you woke up on the right side of bed this morning?" Patton cheered, placing a plate of pancakes in front of him.

"Nope," Logan said as sarcastically as he could, though, since he couldn't lie, he really did mean it. But the group brushed it off, not remembering the rule for a second. They all dug in to the sweet meal.

"So, Patton and I were thinking we should go to the park together!" Roman suggested.

"When will you guys be back?" Logan raised a brow, the smile becoming slightly more fake.

"He meant all of us, silly!" Patton giggled, drowning his plate in more syrup than was even close to healthy, then again, it was pure sugar. Syrup would never be healthy.

"Oh, that sounds wonderful!" Logan's smile became more real. At least he could hang out with Roman.

They went to the nearest park, a place filled with dogs and trees. Patton would run around with the dogs, asking their owners if he could pet them. Roman would stay with Patton and make sure the lad didn't try anything dumber than what Roman would do. And Virgil would stay under a tree, drifting in and out of reality, leaned up against Logan, while the teacher did a dramatic reading.

But today, Logan joined Patton, helping the boy get up to all sorts of shenanigans, hopefully earning points with both Roman and Patton. They hung from the trees upside down. Logan tried not to think about if they stayed like this for two long they could get brain damage, while talking to Roman. The three got down soon, and sat under the tree with Virgil. Logan kept smiling the entire time, causing his face to ache. Then the sun started to set.

"Well, it looks like it's time to go." Virgil announced, standing up and walking out of the shade.

"Virgil, wait a minute!" Patton shouted. "Follow me!"

The group stood up, going to the cherry blossom tree nearby. It seemed like the most cheesy place ever. This was the kind of place you would go if you were Roman to propose. But, they invited Logan and Virgil, so it couldn't be that.

"So, we have something we want to tell you both." Roman smiled gleefully.

"We love you both so much! We want you both to join our relationship! I know you two like me and Roman, so we wanted to have you join us since we love you too!" Patton shouted, smiling bright enough to make the sun jealous.

"Really?" Both Logan and Virgil asked.

"Of course, you goofball, we've always loved you!" Roman told Logan, his smile still not faltering. The smile on Logan's face was completely genuine, and he wanted to shout and run around like he was forced to minutes ago. Both Patton and Roman loved him, and wanted him to join their relationship with Virgil. It was a dream come true.

Logan jumped up, shouting "yes", as he pressed his lips to Roman's. They sat there for a second, Logan putting his heart and soul into the kiss, but Roman didn't move. Once he moved, it was clear  he was kissing reluctantly. Roman didn't want this. He was lying to Logan. Logan pulled back, a small, pitiful smile on his lips. Patton turned to hug Logan, pulling them all together, crying happily with the rest. But, Logan wasn't, he was crying for sure, but it was because of the betrayal he felt from Roman lying to him, not loving him, like he said he did.

Logan pulled Roman aside, off to where Patton and Virgil would have to be silent to hear them.

"Roman, I have a confession." Logan sighed, he had to stop this before it got out of control. Roman appeared scared for what Logan was about to say. "I don't love you. I only love Patton and Virgil. I guess, I don't love you because we aren't soulmates, I'm sorry if you do." Logan lied. It was all lies, but he couldn't have Roman suffer because of him.

"Oh, thank god." Roman smiled, chuckling. "I honestly don't like you romantically, but you can still date Patton and Virgil, just not me. Deal?"

"Deal." Logan sighed, as he willed the corners of his lips to move up and tried not to cry.

The group headed home after that, Roman explained to them that Logan wasn't going to date him, cause they didn't like eachother. Patton smiled and told them to do what they thought was best, while Virgil stayed silent.

They all went to their separate rooms, and got ready for the night. Logan was about to get under the covers, when he heard a knock at the door. He got up and opened it, finding Virgil on the other side.

"We need to talk." Virgil sighed, as Logan let him in, and closed the door behind him.

"About what?" Logan raised a brow, he really didn't want to talk about anything.

"You rejected Roman, why would you do that when he had admitted he liked you, right after you tried changing yourself just for him to like you?" Virgil asked, a mild anger present.

"Because he didn't like me." Logan sighed.

"But, you tried to change for him."

"Because I thought he could fall in love with a version of me, and I'd be happy with that! I thought I would be fine with him just showing me affection!" Logan shouted, tears forming. "But, then he kissed me, and I realized you were right. He can't fall in love with me in a day, he didn't fall for me like I did him, in fourteen years! We spent half of our lives together, if he was going to love me, he would have by now! He lied to me about loving me, and you know why he could do that? He isn't my soulmate! He doesn't love me because whatever God runs this show, decided it would be fun if we weren't going to get together! If Roman never loved me! He doesn't love me, and he never will!" Logan was glad all their rooms were sound proof at the moment.

Virgil looked terrified, and like he still wanted to hug Logan. Pity. "Logan, calm down." The emo whispered, stepping closer and running a thumb across Logan's wet cheek. "Let's sleep, do you want me to stay?" Virgil cooed. Logan nodded, tears going down even faster.

"Why am I crying? This is stupid. I'm crying because someone, who's not my soulmate, doesn't like me. What am I, one of the teenage girls I teach?" Logan whined into Virgil's t-shirt as they moved closer to the bed. They sat on their sides, Virgil spooning the crying man.

"Hey." Virgil forced Logan to look at him, "you remember how you all say how my feelings aren't stupid, however I feel is okay? You aren't any different, heartbreaks suck, but you know I will always love you and be here for you, and Patton will too, even Roman. He just won't love you the way me and Patton do, but he will still care for you. You are wonderful, and need to calm down. Just, try and sleep, don't think about it too much. You can survive this, this isn't the end of the world. I love you." Virgil ranted, making Logan actually smile.

"That's the first time you said "I love you" first." Logan chuckled, causing Virgil to blush bright enough to be seen in the dark. "I love you, too." Logan sighed, closing his eyes.

"Alright, you dork." Virgil sighed into his boyfriend's hair, drifting to sleep.

You guys know how I said I wouldn't make this too angsty? I lied. I guess we aren't soulmates, and Logan and Roman aren't either.
