3. Beach Time Fun Time
"It's hoooooot." Kalani whined, laying lazily on the couch.
"Too bad." Jaylee replied quickly. She sat at the table, tapping away at her laptop. Kalani groaned lazily, moving to sit up. Jaylee watched from the corner of her eyes, seeing Kalani drag her feet toward their room. "Where are you going?" Jaylee asked, turning back to look back at her screen.
"To the campus Starbucks." Kalani replied in a very nonchalant manner. She left through their room door, before returning with a pair of converse on. Kalani was simply dressed in a thin pair of sweats and a black tank top. "Have fun with homework." Kalani called behind her, leaving the dorm.
"Get me something!" She faintly heard Jaylee scream. Kalani ignored it, heading outside the building. It was a pretty fast walk toward the school's Starbucks. When the young brunette ordered, she spun around to take a seat. Kalani came in contact with a chest. Hands caught her from falling backward.
"Woah." She laughed, looking up at the person. "Thanks." When Kalani met the male's face, she was shocked. She came face to face with a smirking Will?
"We've gotta stop meeting like this." Will laughed, stepping back. He gave a shy little smile.
"What're you do-" Kalani couldn't even answer, as another voice interrupted.
"Guys! Will found her!" The familiar loud voice of Dalton called. Students of UCR looked weirdly at the bunch of boys heading toward Kalani. Dalton ran up, almost tackling Kalani to the ground. She simply laughed, hugging the energetic blonde back. She pushed him away and smiled. "Hey." He greeted with a smile.
"Hello there." Kalani giggled. She saw the rest of IM5 walk up to her. She greeted the rest of the boys. "As I was saying, what are you guys doing here?" She questioned, heading to the counter where two frappés sat. Kalani picked them up, thanking the workers.
"Well, we had a day off today." Gabe began.
"So we came to visit." Dana finished. Kalani took note of Dana's eyes scanning around.
"She's in the dorm." Kalani answered the unspoken question with a smirk. She eyed Dana.
"Who?" Dana tried to play off. Kalani rolled her eyes.
"You know who." Kalani answered. "Come on, I'll show you guys back to our dorm." She motioned with her head. Will kept his pace up, keeping himself beside Kalani.
"Are you addicted to Starbucks?" Will asked out of the blue. He looked to his right and down at Kalani. Kalani had looked back up at him. She took a sip from one of the cups and shook her head.
"Nope." Kalani replied, popping the 'p' sound. "I just like coffee in general."
"Really? Is that why you're so short?" Cole teased, appearing to Kalani's right. In return the smaller brunette haired girl pouted. She automatically reacted, slapping Cole's arm.
"Shut up!" She whined. Kalani realized what she did and gasped, stopping in place. "I am soo sorry Cole." Kalani apologized. Cole leaned forward a bit, clutching his right hand over his left arm. His eyes were squeezed shut. Slowly, he looked up and gave a strangled smile.
"You hit really hard for a girl." Cole breathed out. Kalani frowned.
"You know what? I take that apology back." Kalani rolled her eyes. "Just cuz I'm a girl doesn't mean I can't hit hard." She answered, already walking off. Will laughed, running to catch up with the girl. Dana and Dalton bolted off as well. That left Gabe to attempt to comfort Cole. All Gabe really did was pat Cole's back and follow his other friends.

"Did you guys hear about our day off today?" Cole asked, walking into our hotel room. He was staring down at his phone, reading a text message me apparently got from our manager.
"Yeah." Dana, Gabe, Dalton, and I replied in unison. Dana was scrolling through something on his phone. Gabe was watching The Batman marathon on the tv. Dalton was on his laptop with his earbuds plugged in. I was on the couch, sliding my phone into my pocket. Cole had sat down beside me.
"So, what are we gonna do today?" Gabe asked, glancing in between his movie and Cole. Cole shrugged his shoulder in reply.
"We could go the beach." Dana suggested. He looked up from his phone, looking at everyone for denial.
"Sounds good." Cole answered.
"I'm in." Gabe replied.
"Me too." I shrugged. We all turned to Dalton, but he was too busy laughing at something on his computer.
"Dalton." Dana called, cupping his hands around his mouth. "DalTON!" He yelled louder, emphasizing the second half of Dalton's name. Gabe leaned forward, grabbing something from the table. He pulled back his arm and lashed it forward. Flying from Gabe's hand was black pen.
The pen flew, hitting Dalton's neck accurately. "OW!" Dalton cried. His right hand flew up to rub the sore spot that the pen hit. He turned to look at us. Cole, Gabe, and Dana looked away quickly. Dalton looked at me. I smirked, motioning to Gabe secretly. Dalton picked up the pen, throwing it back at Gabe. This time the pen made a clear connection to the side of Gabe's temple.
"Ouch!" Gabe complained. I laughed, shaking my head.
"That's what you get!" Dalton pointed at Gabe.
"Okay, on the other hand!" Cole yelled above the two. "Dalton, wanna go to the beach?" He asked, turning to look at the blonde.
"Sure, I'm down." Dalton agreed. He then went to shut off his computer. His eyes widened in realization, or something. "WE SHOULD INVITE THE GIRLS!" He yelled suddenly.
"What girls?" I asked, standing up. I walked to his side. On his screen was a blown up version of the two girls we met at our concert. The girls that had interview us for the Youtube channel. Also the same girls we ran into at Starbucks and Denny's. "Kalani and Jaylee, right?" I asked. Dalton looked up at me and grinned widely.
"Yep!" He had replied. "I love their channel!"
"Oh! Those girls!" Dana had came up behind me, taking a peek at Dalton's computer screen. "Yeah, we should invite them."
"The girl's from the concert interview?" Cole asked, getting up to where we all were. Gabe decided to follow too, reluctantly turning away from his Batman movie.
"They were cool." Gabe nodded his head. "Wait, do any of us even have their number?" Gabe brought up a good point. We all looked at Dalton.
"No...I gave them my number.." He frowned.
"Well looks like that idea's out." Dana rolled his eyes, moving to go back to the couch. Then Dalton's eyes lit up.
"BUT!" Dalton yelled. We looked toward him. "I do know they're dorming at UC Riverside." He grinned happily.
"How do you know that?" Cole questioned, crossing his arms.
"No I'm not stalking them!" Dalton denied. "They just mentioned it in the video I was watching!" Dalton claimed.
"Sure." Gabe laughed.
"So are we heading to UCR?" I asked, already leaving towards the door. I opened the front door to our hotel room and heard my friends run after me.
It wasn't all that long until we got to the college that Jaylee and Kalani went to. So when Cole parked his car, we were quick to get out of the cramped space. We walked onto the campus, not having any idea where we were going. We walked farther into the campus, seeing a smaller campus Starbucks. "Let's try asking for directions in there." Gabe suggested, pointing toward the coffee shop. We walked into the shop. I headed toward the counter to ask for directions, while the others stayed by the door. I bumped into someone, again..
"Woah." A girl muttered. I grabbed her shoulders to keep her from falling. She smiled, looking up and meeting my eyes. "Thanks." I smirked, seeing that the girl I bumped into was Kalani.
"We've gotta stop meeting like this."

Jaylee's PoV
It's nearly been half an hour since Kalani left. It usually wouldn't take her this long to get Starbucks at the campus shop. Even if there was a long line. I was almost to the point of going to search for her. That's when the door popped open. I stood up, going to meet her at the door. "Where the hell have you-" I wasn't able to finish my sentence because following Kalani in was IM5z
"I found some lost people. Hope you don't mind." Kalani laughed, probably at my reaction. I frowned, throwing my red pen at her. She laughed, catching the pen before it hit her.
"Jerk." I directed the insult toward my best friend. All Kalani did was smirk at me, holding up a venti Java Chip frappé from Starbucks. "Love you." I grinned, holding my hand out for my coffee.
"Damn right." She grinned, coming over to hand me my cup.
"So what brings you guys here?" I questioned the IM5 members.
"More like, how'd you find us?" Kalani added, slipping her straw into her venti Caramel Macchiato frappé.
"We had a day off, and were bored." Cole had began.
"We were heading to the beach to walk around." Gabe answered next.
"But I wanted to invite you!" Dalton grinned his cheeky little grin.
"And Dalton said you mentioned what school you went to in one of your YouTube videos." Will motioned to the blonde beside him.
"So here we are." Dana had ended, giving his shitting eating grin.
"Oh." Was all I replied. I didn't know how to respond to that.
"Instead of standing there awkwardly, why don't you sit? We don't bite you know." Kalani laughed at the five boy's awkwardness. I sat across from my best friend, letting the guys fall into the spaces between us. Beside Kalani, to her left, was Gabe. Dalton rushed to take the last seat. He felt bad, and ended up sharing seats with Cole.
"I ship." I saw Kalani mouth to me. I tried to hold back my laughing. She smirked, hiding it by sipping at her drink. "Wanna share seats Will?" She offered, scooting over in her chair. I noticed a faint pinkness to Will's cheeks. Oh, does someone have a crush? Will went over, taking up Kalani's offer to share the chair. Before I could offer Dana the same thing, he came over and leant against the back of my chair.
"So you girls coming?" Dana asked again, looking down at me. I looked back up at him. He gave me a charming smile, that turned into a teasing smirk.
"KISS ALREADY!" Kalani yelled shamelessly! I snapped my head to look at her. I gave her the most threatening glare I could muster. Not like it would work. Hardly anything really truly scared Kalani.
"Dude!-" I was about to yell at her, but something touched my cheek. I froze, feeling my cheeks tint red. Did Dana just..?
"Wooohoo!" Kalani and Dalton cheered. Cole and Will gave thumbs up. And Gabe couldn't even do anything because he was laughing too much.
"I hate you." I glared at Kalani, who blew a fly kiss toward me. She winked and took another sip of her coffee.
"Oh, and by the way, we'd love to go to the beach." Kalani changed the subject quickly. Now I couldn't even decide if I hated or loved her. "But, we have to do a bonfire." She tried to reason. Kalani turned to Will, who was sitting directly beside her. She pouted her lips, giving Will her puppy dog eyes.
"Sure." Will laughed. He casually wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Kalani didn't react much though, as she still cheered excitedly. But I knew her well enough. She was obviously freaking out on the inside.

Dalton's PoV
So after Will agreed with Kalani to have a bonfire, the girls left to change. As soon as their bedroom door closed I leaned in to whisper toward my friends. "So Dana, Will...?" I asked, getting their attention. "Do you like them?" I smirked.
"What?" Will asked back, furrowing his eyebrows. I rolled my eyes at Will's obliviousness, turning to look at Dana.
"I mean, Jaylee's cute." Dana shrugged off so casually. Cole scoffed loudly at that reply.
"Bullshit." Cole cursed, leaning forward in his seat. "You think she's more than just cute." Cole had mentioned, eyeing Dana.
"I barely know her." Was Dana's reply.
"Don't give us that cliché crap." Gabe patted Dana's shoulder roughly. Dana shrugged off Gabe's hand, looking seriously at us.
"I'm serious. I barely know her." Dana repeated, looking the three of us in the eye.
"But you want to get to know her." Will spoke, crossing his arms. I pointed at him accusingly.
"You don't have a say!" I told him. Will gave us that confused look again.
"You. And Kalani?" Dana hinted at. Will's eyes widened and we smirked at that.
"What? No." Will tried to deny, but it was too obvious with his face heating up.
"Don't deny it dude." Gabe shook his head. Again, Will repeated the answer no.
"Sorry, did we take long?" Jaylee asked, as she stepped out of their room. She was wearing this dark blue two piece with black shorts, a red flannel over her bikini top, and black sandals. Behind her, Kalani came out. She was in a black two piece with bleached jean shorts over it. She was slipping a shirt over her head as she walked out the room. Hooked in her belt loop was a blue snapback.
"Not really." I answered. Cole, Gabe, and I all watched as Dana and Will nearly died. Their faces were noticeably red, and their mouths ever so slightly ajar.
"Doesn't like them my ass." Cole whispered to Gabe and I. We all laughed quietly.
"Well, we leaving now or what?" Kalani asked, while tying up a part of her white shirt and revealed her stomach. I glanced at Will, who turned even more red.
"Yeah. Come on." Gabe nodded, patting his pockets to make sure he had everything. Cole pulled out his keys, as Kalani grabbed hers.
"One of you could ride with us." Jaylee offered just as we walked out of the girl's dorm building. Gabe, Cole, and I shared a look and nodded.
"Will and Dana will!" We called, already running away toward Cole's car.

Dana's PoV
After Will and I were ditched by the other three, we were forced to ride with the girls. Not that I really minded.. But I mind now because I was forced to. Will quietly sat to my left, meaning he was sitting behind Kalani, who was driving. I sat behind Jaylee. "Hey, can one of you guys call your friends? I don't know what beach we're heading to." Kalani glanced between Will and I in the rear view mirror.
"I got it." I said, pulling out my phone. I dialed Gabe's number, letting it ring. It didn't even ring twice before Gabe answered the call. "Hey, ask Cole what beach we're going to." I told Gabe.
"He said wherever. We'll follow you." Gabe replied, speaking into his phone. I told him okay and hung up.
"They said wherever, and that they'll follow us." I relayed the message back to Kalani. Kalani nodded her head.
"Huntington Beach it is." Kalani spoke, turning to get onto the freeway. Jaylee bent forward in her chair, pulling something from her bag.
"Speakers?" Will asked, seeing what the item was. Jaylee looked back at us, and smiled.
"Yep. The radio is too mainstream." She laughed, turning back to the front. Jaylee set her phone's bluetooth on, and music blared through the speaker. Will and I flinched at the sudden loudness, but neither of the girls did. Jaylee turned it down a little, but it was still pretty loud. "PTV?" She asked Kalani.
"PTV?" I mouthed toward Will. Will shrugged back at me.
"Yeah. PTV." Kalani nodded, focusing on driving. "Oh, put of King for a Day. It's been a while." She spoke, checking her left side mirror to see if it was okay to merge.
"Alright." Jaylee replied, tapping at her phone again. Music blared again. I was more than shocked to hear someone's screaming coming through the speaker. Then the girls began singing to it, saying all of the words perfectly.
After maybe an hour or so of listening to Jaylee's interesting playlist, we arrived at Huntington Beach. Kalani parked closely to the beach, with Cole parking a couple spots down. The four of us exited the vehicle, and went to meet up with the rest of our friends. "Have fun?" I heard Dalton ask Will whilst nudging his arm. Will rolled his eyes, giving a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders.
"Was it boring?" Cole asked me, falling into step at my right. I shook my head, a small smile forming.
"Nope, but it was interesting." I laughed, thinking of the way Kalani and Jaylee had little arguments. Also about the way they sang carelessly in front of Will and I. Kalani even serenaded Will because he refused to talk. "It was very amusing."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Cole wondered. His face scrunched up, unhappy with the information I was providing him with. I laughed, shaking my head at my best friend.
"AHHHH! NANI!" Jaylee squealed slightly, as Kalani sped off and pulled Jaylee along with her.
Jaylee and Kalani found a perfect spot, right around one of the bonfire pits. They set their things down, just as the guys and I arrived. Kalani gave us a smiled. "You guys are slow." She laughed, plopping down onto the warm sand.
"Sorry." Will smiled back fondly. Wow Will... I couldn't help but to smirk. Will took a seat beside Kalani. Jaylee to Kalani's right. I decided to sit beside the purple haired beauty.
"Hi." I greeted. Jaylee looked toward me and grinned back.
"Hey there." She replied. She tapped on her phone, blasting familiar music. It was Heartless.
"Aww! You have our music!" Cole and Dalton cooed jokingly. Kalani stuck her tongue out at them.
"Yeah, because we are really mad in love with you!" Kalani rolled her eyes, pulling her knees to her chest.
"Ouch." Gabe faked hurt. He held his hands to his chest, and tilted his head away from Kalani. "I just died a bit on the inside." He muttered. Kalani smirked.
"Good." She replied normally. She let out a laugh.
"Nani, let's go to the water." Jaylee stood up, patting sand off her shorts. Kalani stood and did the same.
"Sure. You guys wanna come?" Kalani asked, turning to us.
"No we're okay." We denied. Kalani pouted, as did Jaylee. Kalani moved toward Will. She bent down and took his hand, beginning to (attempt to) pull him up.
"Come on Will!" She whined childishly. Will shook his head, but Kalani kept tugging at his arm. "Please?" She begged. Will let out a sigh and got up. It was obvious the way Kalani's eyes lit up when Will agreed.
"Anyone else?" Jaylee asked, glancing at us. Kalani was pulling Will toward the water behind Jaylee. We shook our heads. "You guys suck." Jaylee insulted jokingly, then rushing after Kalani and Will.
"Not going to join the two love birds?" Cole smirked at me. He nodded his head toward the outgoing Kalani, and the shy Will. I shook my head.
"Nah." I answered, looking back at my friends.
"Why not?" Dalton asked me. "Aren't you the one that suggested the beach?"
"Yeah, but I don't feel like going in the water right now." I replied smoothly.
xXx
Kalani, Jaylee, and Will were having a fun time in the water. Kalani had splashed Jaylee and Will. She also started an all out splashing war. Will and Kalani had, unfairly, teamed up against Jaylee and completely soaked the girl. Jaylee had pouted, retreating back to the others for a towel. Will and Kalani continued their war. Kalani dodged the water Will sent. "Ha! Missed me!" She taunted. Will smirked, an idea coming to his head. He grabbed Kalani by the waist, dragging her a bit deeper. "WILL! WILL! STOP!" She laughed and struggled out of his grip.
"Nope!" He popped the 'p' and tossed Kalani into the ocean easily. Kalani screamed as she flew through the air. She landed in the water with a loud splash. Will was laughing hard, clutching his hurting sides. Kalani resurface a second later for air.
"You are such an asshole!" Kalani screamed the insult. It would've really hurt Will, if not for the laughs that interrupted every word.
"Looks like I w-" Before Will could speak, arms wrapped around his waist. Water seeped into his clothes, but that wasn't what he was paying attention to. Kalani was hugging him.
"There." She grinned pulling away. "Now you're just as wet as I am." Kalani laughed at the priceless expression on Will's face. "Let's go back to the others." She suggested, pulling Will back with her.
"Sure." Will could only reply.
"Looks like you two had fun." Gabe grinned at Will and Kalani. The brunette haired girl nodded, making her hair bounce and water droplets fly.
"Yep." She said, pulling out her phone. Jaylee dropped a towel over her friend's shoulders. Will plopped down next to Kalani again. He gladly accepted towel that was thrown at him by Dalton. "What'd you boring people talk about?" Kalani asked, looking in between the guys that had decided to stay out of the water.
"Life." Dalton replied with a casual shrug of his shoulders.
"Bullshit." Kalani accused, glancing up from her phone.
"They actually were." Jaylee defended, also looking up from her phone. "When I sat down they were talking about their next performance, or something like that."
"I don't wanna hear about that!" Kalani groaned, her head falling backward in a lazy manner. "It'll make me depressed." She smiled a bit at everyone. "Anywho! We should take a picture!"
"How?" Gabe asked. "No matter how we do it, someone is not going to be in it." He pointed out.
"We could ask someone." Dana suggested.
"Well look who's just full of ideas today." Cole mocked with a smirk. Dana simply rolled his eyes.
"Who wants to ask?" Dalton asked, before quickly yelling, "Nose goes!" The blonde place his finger on his nose. Everyone did it, except for Kalani.
"You're all a bunch of introverted babies." She insulted, getting up from her spot. Kalani walked over to an older couple that was passing by. Her phone was tightly gripped in her left hand. The group of friend heard nothing but saw a few words were exchanged. Then the older couple followed Kalani over. The rest of the teens, or young adults, stood up. "Thank you." Kalani thanked the man. She handed him her phone, then ran to her friends.
"Say cheese!" He called for them to hear. They all posed and yelled out 'cheese.' The man lowered Kalani's phone, signaling that he wasn't taking anymore pictures. Kalani went back over to him.
"Thanks so much." She thanked politely and took her phone back.
"It wasn't any trouble." The woman waved it off. "Have fun with your friends." She smiled as her and her boyfriend walked away.
"Thank you!" Kalani called, coming back to her group.
xXx
"Excuse me." A girly voice spoke up, interrupting a game of Never Have I Ever. Everyone looked up to see a random group of girls standing their and smiling. "My friends and I were just wondering if we could get pictures with you." She asked the guys, completely ignoring Jaylee and Kalani's presence.
"Sorry, we're kinda busy." Dana answered, seeing the expression on Jaylee's face.
"Please? We won't even take a minute." She asked again.
"Go ahead." Jaylee motioned, shrugging it off.
"Yeah." Kalani nodded. "It's all good. What's one picture?"
Slowly the members of IM5 got up. They took a picture with the group of girls that had shown up. Then more people showed up. Jaylee and Kalani sat there casually, talking as if they didn't even know IM5. Finally when the crowd settled again, the sun was already beginning to set.
"Sorry about that guys." Dalton apologized. Jaylee and Kalani shrugged it off, saying that shit happens.
"Why don't we all go in the water?" Dana suggested. Everyone looked at each other. A silent conversation flew between all of them. Each of them nodded, but by that time, Kalani and Jaylee had already began running.
"Hey!" Gabe and Dana yelled, scrambling up.
"Unfair!" Dalton rushed after them as well.
"Shall we?" Cole asked jokingly toward Will. When Cole opened his eyes, Will was gone and laughing ahead of him. "WILL!" Cole ran angrily.
The group of seven played and had fun in the water. Until, Kalani moved out. She ran back to their spot on the beach and pulled something from her back. It was her phone. Secretly, throughout the whole day, she'd been recording a little bit. She hit the record button, walking toward her friends still in the water. She laughed, seeing the mess around carelessly. Cole even managed to splash her a couple times. Kalani was so focused on recording, she didn't notice someone slip away.
"What are you doing?" Will's voice whispered over Kalani's shoulder. Kalani turned, glancing at Will features.
"Recording, obviously." Kalani replied. "What's it look like?"
"Some weird random girl stalking us." Will stated with a little grin. Kalani rolled her eyes.
"Yep, I'm totally stalking you." Kalani said sarcastically. "I'm only stalking you Will." She gave a joking grin.
"Creep." Will replied with a laugh. Kalani laughed too. She pressed the record button again so the video stopped. She switched the camera, so they appeared on the screen.
"Take a pic with me." She demanded, not even bothering to ask. Will didn't have to reply, only smiling in return. Kalani snapped the picture happily. "One more." She promised. Kalani made a silly face, so did Will. And again Kalani pressed the capture button.
xXx
Now it was completely dark. The beach was sort of empty, if not for the several bonfires lighting the beach. Everyone was circled around their own little bonfire. Cole was spread out on his towel. Dalton was beside him, tempted to draw on Cole's face. But every time Dalton would near Cole, Cole would warn Dalton to move away. Then there was Gabe, on his phone texting someone. Dana and Jaylee were beside each other, a bit too close. Will and Kalani were beside each other too, as they watched the video's Kalani recorded.
"I want s'mores." Jaylee whined, leaning her head against Dana's left shoulder. Dana looked down at her.
"I can go buy some." He offered her. Jaylee shook her head though. Dana felt her hair tickling his neck.
"Waste of gas." Was Jaylee's brilliant reply. Dana shook his head too.
"If you want it, I can-" Dana was cut off.
"Shhhh." Jaylee laughed, her eyes fluttering closed.
"But."
"Nope." Jaylee cut Dana off again.
"Oh! I have s'mores stuff!" Cole sprung to life suddenly. Kalani jumped a bit, falling into Will. Jaylee jumped too, moving closer to Dana. Quickly Cole ran to his car. "Tada!" He presented, holding a bag of s'mores items.
"Yes!" Dalton and Gabe cheered happily.
"SMORES!" Everyone cheered, preparing the ingredients.
