2. Are You Stalking Us?
"Thank you again for watching us, DisneyCoverage!" Jaylee thanked, smiling at the still recording camera.
"And thanks to IM5, for allowing us this interview! Make sure you check the description box down below for their social media sites, and go follow them!" Kalani pointed downward, motioning to the invisible description box that she imagined under their Youtube video.
"Don't forget to give these girls a like, and Subscribe to their amazing channel." Gabe smirked, wrapping his arms around both girl's necks. He squeezed himself in between them.
"We know we're going to follow them." Dalton stretched his arms, as he came in front of everyone.
"Bye!" Everyone yelled. Kalani stood up pushing her hand toward the camera like usual. She stopped the recording, and began to disassemble the tripod and camera.
"Thanks again for the interview." Jaylee turned to face the band. "I know that we're no one important, so it seems.....useless and unimportant on your end."
"Well it really wasn't useless." Dana smirked, eyeing the girl with purple hair. Jaylee noticed the awkward stare from Dana, but pretended not to notice.
"Yeah, we had fun and all." Will smiled reassuringly, waving off the burden that Jaylee, and probably Kalani, felt.
"It was really great getting to know you guys too." Dalton grinned childishly. Jaylee let out a laugh, smiling in thanks.
"Kay, I'm finished." Kalani announced that she had finished packing the camera stuff. She made her way over to her friend and the band of boys. "Ready to cut out?" She asked Jaylee. The latter nodded her head. "Well, we really appreciated the time you took to give us this interview." Kalani smiled, turning to leave.
"Yeah, it was no trouble at all." Gabe insisted, waving his hand in dismissal. Kalani laughed as well, doing her signature eye roll.
"Don't sweat it." Cole added in.
Kalani and Jaylee made their way out of the Staples Center, surprisingly without getting lost. The traffic was now gone, and nothing but a couple cars were left in the parking lot. The two girls only assumed that whatever cars were left belonged to staff members. So they made their way toward their own vehicle. "Wait up!" A voice called after the two girls. Jaylee and Kalani stopped when the voice called out to them. They turned toward it.
"Dalton?" They questioned in unison. Dalton panted slightly. He bent over, placing his hands on his knees. After a moment of silence for poor Dalton, he stood up straight.
"We should hangout some time." He grinned happily. Dalton thrusted his fist out, shoving a strip of paper in the girl's hand. Kalani laughed and took the paper from the enthusiastic band member.
"Sure." Jaylee nodded. "We'll call you when we want to hang out then." She answered. Dalton smiled back.
"Then I'll be waiting." We gave a little wink and tipped his hat. Kalani and Jaylee laughed at the blonde's attempt to flirt. Not like he would know that.. "Night guys. Get home safe." Dalton told the girls, then turned to run off.
"What a strange boy." Kalani spoke aloud, watching the blonde boy run back toward the stadium. Jaylee nodded in agreement.
"He's very...unique.." Jaylee added with a little smile. "Come on, let's get something to eat. I'm hungry." Jaylee tilted her head.
"Denny's?" Kalani asked knowingly. Jaylee nodded her head with a look that said 'duh!'
"Obvi." Jaylee laughed, sliding into the passenger's seat of Kalani's car. Kalani hopped into driver's seat and wasted no time pulling away from the famous Staples Center. Jaylee took her friend's phone, and placed her thumb on the home button. The screen lit up and unlocked. With that, Jaylee played the music that was sung at the concert they were just at.
They girls sang and messed around in the car. Kalani turned into the plaza where the Denny's was at. She parked close by, and turned the vehicle off. Instantly the two piled out, shutting off the incredibly girly music. Kalani stepped inside the restaurant first, asking for a booth for two. Since hardly anyone was inside the little restaurant, Jaylee and Kalani were taken to their favorite spot in their awkward corner. It was a large booth that could seat almost ten.
"Any drinks?" The waitress asked, setting menus in front of the best friends. Jaylee and Kalani looked up, meeting eyes. They had a telepathic conversation, then nodded. Kalani looked up, while Jaylee looked down at the menu.
"Two chocolate shakes, with two water and lemons on the side." Kalani ordered. The older woman nodded, leaving the girls to look at the menus.
"What are you getting Jay?" Kalani asked, flipping back and forth between pages. Jaylee shrugged.
"I was thinking about having breakfast for dinner." Jaylee smiled. "What's better than that?"
"Mmm...nothing." Kalani stated, flipping back to the breakfast section. "I think I'll have the strawberry pancakes. That sounds amazing!" Kalani chose.
"I was thinking the same thing. Nothing else really interests me at the moment." Jaylee agreed. Both closed their menus, awaiting for their waitress to come back.
The front door of the restaurant opened, more people coming inside. Kalani and Jaylee didn't pay that any mind, too sucked into their drama filled tales. "Jaylee? Kalani?" A voice spoke up. The purple haired girl and the brunette looked away from each other and toward the person calling them.
Low and behold, IM5 was standing before them. Jaylee leaned forward, and onto the table. "Are you stalking us?" She smirked. "Because if I remember correctly, you showed up at Starbucks after us. Now Denny's. Who knew?" Jaylee teased.
"I knew you wanted to hang out Dalton, but I didn't think you'd result to stalking our every move." Kalani joined in. The faces on IM5 flushed, with a pink hue dusting their cheeks.
"It was a coincidence." Gabe claimed, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
"Suuure." Both girls replied jokingly.
"Well are you gonna stand there, or are you gonna sit down?" Kalani questioned. One by one, the boys slid into the large, circular booth. To Kalani's left was Will, Cole, and Dalton, in that order. To Jaylee's right was Dana and Gabe, also in that order. The girl's waitress came back, seeing the boys now sitting there.
She set down Jaylee and Kalani's drinks, then turning to the boys. "Any drinks for you?" She asked, giving a smile. They had ordered what they wanted, and she left once again.
"But really, be honest, were you guys stalking us?" Kalani brought up again, smirking evilly. Her eyes landed on Will, having seen his flush even more.
"No." Gabe rolled his eyes at Kalani's bluntness.
"Really?" Jaylee questioned, another smirk forming on her face as well. "Will's face says otherwise." She pointed out at the taller male. Will sputtered, trying to form words.
"W...we didn't." He spat out, trying to think of how to prove his statement true. Kalani couldn't help but to laugh at his awkwardness.
"We're only kidding you know?" She rose an eyebrow. Will was tense. His mouth opened and close like a fish out of water. Kalani laughed again. "You're too cute." She said bluntly and unashamed. Will turned even more red.
"Someone's got a crush." Dana leaned down to whisper into Jaylee's ear. Jaylee tense. Her blue eyes blinked, trying to process the closeness of Dana. She looked down at the table. Her hair fell like a curtain to shield her away from the boy slightly younger than her. Jaylee pulled out her iPhone 6, pretending to occupy herself. A low chuckle came from Dana's lips.
The boys continued to talk casually, whilst the girls talked in between themselves as well. At some point the waitress had come by and dropped off the boys drinks. She looked at Jaylee and Kalani. "Ready to order?"
"Um, we'll just wait until our friends are ready to order too." Kalani smiled kindly. Like always her voice raised into a more bubbly tone when she talked to the stranger. The waitress had just nodded, smiled, and walked away again. Jaylee was about to tease her friend, but was beat to it.
"You voice got higher there." Cole pointed out. Kalani blinked, then pouted. She puffed out her cheeks and crossed her arms.
"I know." Kalani muttered, turning her head away.
"See Nani! I'm not the only one that noticed it!" Jaylee joined in on the teasing. Kalani slapped her arm, resulting in a loud smack. "Owwww." Jaylee whined and laughed, rubbing the stinging pain.
"That's what you get." Kalani laughed as well.
"Cole pointed it out!" Jaylee accused, pointing across the table toward the other lighter brunette.
"Hey!" Cole tried to hide a smile at the girl's childish antics.
"Well you added on!" Kalani argued back. "Plus, I just met Cole, and the others. I can't hit them!" Kalani resulted. Jaylee continued to rub the stinging away.
"Jerk." Jaylee whispered. "I don't like you."
"You love me." Kalani stated, matter of factly.
"No." Jaylee shook her head.
"You two really are unique." Gabe had laughed, finally interrupting the best friend's argument.
"This is a daily thing so whatever." The two girls shrugged.
"See I told you! Their funny!" Dalton claimed, assumingly referring to the girl's YouTube channel.
The waitress finally came back, taking everyone's orders. She left again, going to place the order in. Kalani and Jaylee sipped at their drinks. Well, more like Kalani sipped at it. Jaylee, on the other hand, gulped it down. Dana began a new topic of conversation. "So, what do you girls do?" He asked, bringing all attention to Jaylee and Kalani. Though, he was only looking at the purple haired beauty.
"We go to UC Riverside." Jaylee answered back shortly, trying to not look back into Dana's intense stare.
"What are you aiming to be?" Will asked next, shifting a bit to face Kalani's direction.
"Well, I'm going to be a computer engineer." Kalani replied, taking another sip of her drink she was completely unaware of Will's brown eyes following her every move.
"And I'm studying to be an author." Jaylee answered as well. All the while, she scrolled through her instagram feed.
"An author?" Cole questioned. "What are you going to write about?" He asked.
"Who knows?" Jaylee wondered, absentmindedly shrugging her shoulders.
"Why a computer engineer Kalani?" Gabe asked the youngest girl of the group. Kalani turned her attention to the male sitting at the edge of the booth to her right.
"Cuz I like computers. It's easy for me to learn how to work that kinda stuff." She answered easily. "I may not be a natural at it, but I'm a fast learner." She dismissed quickly, also flipping out her phone.
"You should write horror themes!" Dalton aimed his statement toward Jaylee. Jaylee briefly looked up at the blonde. She scrunched up her face.
"Not really my forté. That's all Nani. I want to inspire people with my writing." Jaylee answered, quickly motioning to the girl at her left. Kalani smiled, liking that the theme of horror was mentioned.
"It's not like I don't wanna inspire people with my writing." Kalani faking the hurt of the insult that wasn't even there. Jaylee ignored the comment, continuing to play Temple Run 2 on her phone. "Jerk." Kalani whispered, turning her head toward Will, hoping to muffle the joking insult.
"I can hear you dumbass." Jaylee laughed.
"You were supposed to." Kalani retorted.
"You made me die!" Jayle gasped, turning to glare at her brunette haired best friend.
"Good." Kalani replied, sipping her milkshake.
"Asshole." Jaylee bit back.
"Girls, girls." Dana interrupted, laughing. "You're both pretty."
"Do you fight this often?" Cole questioned, trying to fight back his grin.
"Fight?" The girls asked in unison. They looked at each other and hugged. "We don't fight." They claimed with grins.
"I love Jay!" Kalani smirked, kissing Jaylee's cheek casually. Jaylee smiled, taking Kalani's hand and kissing her knuckles.
"And I love Nani!" Jaylee grinned. Both tried not to laugh at the shocked expressions on IM5's faces. They couldn't even hold it for a minute, until bursting out in laughter.
"We're not gay guys." Kalani and Jaylee explained.
"Really?" Dalton raised his eyebrow.
"Yep, we're just best friends." The girls smirked. Then the waitress came with all of the delicious food that was ordered.
"Thank you." Each of the young adults thanked.
"Let me know if you need anything else." She told the group, before taking her leave again.
xXx
"Wooow." Jaylee stared at the guys as they all exited the Denny at twelve in the morning. The IM5 boys followed the girls out. Each had a smug expression on their face.
"You didn't have to pay." Kalani frowned, trying to shone a twenty dollar bill at Will. Will refused, not taking the money.
"Just go with it." Dalton told the best friends. Jaylee and Kalani pouted simultaneously.
"Now we feel bad." Jaylee spoke for herself and Kalani. The brunette haired girl nodded in agreement.
"Don't." Cole smiled, wrapping his signature red scarf around his neck.
"Yeah, like telling us not to worry about will definitely make us stop worrying..." Kalani muttered sarcastically.
"You are about the only girls we know that won't accept a free meal." Will laughed, albeit a bit shyly. Kalani scrunched up her nose in rejection toward the idea.
"Like I said, they're unique." Dana smirked, letting Cole lean on him. Gabe shove his hands in his pocket, nodding.
"They really are unlike any other girl." Gabe spoke.
"Th...thanks?" Kalani and Jaylee blinked questionably. They weren't sure if that was a compliment or-
"It was a compliment." Cole and Dalton cut off, laughing at the two girl's faces.
"Well, it's late." Kalani began, pulling out her car keys. "And we got a pretty long drive back toward our school." She hinted, giving an apologetic smile.
"It's cool." Will gave a breathtaking smile.
"Maybe we can switch numbers and hang out some other time?" Dana hinted. Jaylee and Kalani looked at each other, then nodded. The seven all switched numbers.
"You girls have a safe trip back." Cole warned kiddingly.
"Course." Kalani grinned, spinning her lanyard around her finger. She moved into her car after hugging each of the boys. Her hug with Will lasting a bit longer that necessary...
"Well, see you later, I guess." Jaylee smiled a bit. She waved, but her wrist was caught. Jaylee turned to see who it was, but was met with lips connecting with her cheek. Heat flushed her face.
"Yeah, later." Dana smirked casually. He let go of Jaylee's wrist. Jaylee didn't reply, and quickly retreated into Kalani's car. Cheers were inevitable from the boys outside. Jaylee entered the car, seeing Kalani laughing her ass off.
"Shut up!" Jaylee yelled in embarrassment. She hid her face in her hands, too embarrassed to look up.
"He likes you." Kalani teased, shoving the keys into the ignition. It took Jaylee a couple breathes to spit back another remark.
"Like Will likes you?" Jaylee tried to turn the attention away from herself. And failed.
"Well even if he did, Will sure as hell didn't kiss me." Kalani smirked, glancing at her best friend.
"SHUT UP!" Jaylee gave up of retorting back.
