Chapter Twenty-Two: Sexual Orientation

*******Isaac's POV*******

Today had been a slow day, since it was a rest day for those participating in the games. Which meant that I could clean up and leave early today. Just as I was walking out of my tent, I slammed into a tall, muscular body. I stepped back and looked up to see my mate.

"Hi, baby," he said, resting his hands on my waist. "Where are you off to in such a hurry?"

"The commissary," I told him. "I wanted to cook you dinner."

He laughed at what I said. "Baby, you can't cook."

"I know that," I said. "But I can try to follow a recipe. Or at least...I hope that I can"

He leaned down and kissed my forehead. "What if we head off base to get dinner, and I can tell you about my meeting?"

I smiled and nodded at him. "That seems like a safer bet. I'd hate to give you food poisoning again."

He leaned his head back and laughed. "Guess it's a good thing my mate can both make me sick, and make me better, since he's a doctor."

I laughed and swatted at his bicep. "Shut up."

We took my golf cart to the front gates and left it in the small parking lot on the side of the road and walked the rest of the way to our favorite little hole-in-the-wall kimbap place.

As we walked, I wanted to know about his meeting. "So, tell me what happened."

"First off, he was shocked," he told me.

"Because your mate is a man?" I asked him. "I feel like a lot of people are going to continue to be shocked by that fact."

"Yeah, he asked me if I had always been gay," he said.

"And you told him no," I said.

"I did. I told him that I had always been into women, until I met you."

"Doesn't that make you bi, Joonie?" I asked him, not really thinking about it before.

He shook his head. "I don't think so. I'm not attracted to other guys. Hell, I'm not even attracted to women anymore. I'm not straight, bi, or gay. My sexual orientation is now just...Isaac."

I couldn't help but giggle at him. "I'm your sexual orientation?"

"Yep," he said, smiling at me with those dimples that should be illegal. "Just you, baby. Nobody else exists to me."

I smiled back at him as we walked down the street. "I like that."

When we got to the restaurant, it was busy. Namjoon told me to go and find us a table while he went to order our food. From where I was sitting, I could barely see him through the crowd of people, and I kept leaning to one side, then the other, to try to see where he was.

Mine!

'What?'

Mine! My mate!

'What are you going on about Delwyn?'

Touching my mate!

'Who?! I don't understand.'

Get her off of my mate! Our mates!

'Get who off of our mates? I can't even see him.'

Go. Now! Mine! Not hers!

I frowned and got up to stand next to the table, my eyes scanning the crowd for my mate. When they finally found him, I knew why Delwyn was so upset. There was a girl standing uncomfortably close to Namjoon. She was trying to touch him and he kept pushing her hand away.

I growled and used my wolf hearing to zero in on their conversation.

"Oh come on, Namjoon!" the vile woman said. "You never told me no before! My Omega misses you."

"I'm saying no now, Ji-A," he said, pushing her away again. "My beta and I have found our mates."

"You have to be kidding me," she said, trying to touch his arm again, but he moved out of the way.

"I am not kidding."

"Namjoon, I came all this way just to see you!" she told him. "You can at least give me some attention for old times sake."

"I will do no such thing," he told her. "I love my mate, and I am loyal."

"But we always had fun with each other before," he whined at him. "You sure never had any complaints."

"I have them now," he told her. "I didn't know what I was missing before. Now I do."

My wolf growled so loud that Joon's head snapped over to look at me. I walked over to the two of them and pushed my way between the trampy-looking Omega and my mate.

"And just who the hell are you?" She asked me in a rude tone.

"Ji-A, this is Isaac," Namjoon told her as he put his hands on my waist from behind me. "My mate."

She looked from me to Namjoon, then back again several times. "Okay, now I know that you're lying to me, Kim Namjoon."

"I am not lying," he told her. "This is my mate."

"But he's a man!" she said. "You're not gay!"

"Like I told you already, Ji-A," he said, leaning over my shoulder to glare at her. "I didn't know what I was missing."

"You actually expect me to believe that Kim Namjoon, the world-famous RM from BTS, is gay?" she asked in a disbelieving tone.

"I'm not gay," he told her.

"I knew you were lying."

"I'm Isaac," he said. I could feel him shrug one of his shoulders behind me.

"What the hell does that mean?" she demanded to know.

"It means that from now on, the only thing I will ever be sexually attracted to, is this beautiful man before you," he said. He moved his hands so that his arms were now wrapped around my waist and leaned his head on my shoulder.

"I don't believe you," she told him, glaring at him and not even bothering to look at me. "You enjoyed sex with me too much for me to accept that you would enjoy it with another...man."

She spat the last bit out as she glared at me now.

"That's enough, Ji-A," Namjoon said.

She flicked her eyes from me to him. "Enough? No it's not. I have plenty more to say to your little mate. Starting with questions about how he brainwashed you into thinking you could ever be happy with a man."

"Brainwashed me?" Namjoon asked as Delwyn growled at her. I was trying to keep him in check, but it was getting increasingly difficult.

Kill her.

'I can't kill her. We'll get sent to jail.'

Worth it.

'Stop.'

Act. Do something. Shut her up.

'How?'

Blunt force trauma sounds like a good option.

'Delwyn.'

You're doing nothing. Just standing there and letting her insult us and our mates.

'I can't hurt her.'

Why not? She's a wolf. She'll heal.

'You make a valid point.'

I decided that Delwyn was right, but I wasn't quite sure what to do, so I let him have a little bit of control. Not all of it, I was still at the front, but he was very closely behind me right now, and I told him to do what he wanted, within reason.

It didn't take long for him to act. The bitch was mid-sentence when my arm reached out and grabbed the hair at the back of her head, then smashed her face into the wall. She cried out in pain as she slumped down to the floor, holding her obviously broken nose.

I crouched down in front of her. My voice came out in a growl, a clear sign that my wolf was close to the surface. I had no doubt that my eyes were flashing bright blue, too.

"That's a warning, little wolf," I told her. "If you ever come near me or my mate again, it will be much, much worse the next time. Do you understand?"

Her Omega must have been close to the surface as well, because I washed as she blinked, and her eyes became bright blue when she opened them again.

"You can't have him," she growled back at me. "He is mine! My Omega claimed him long before you ever slutted your way into the picture."

"Your Omega has no right to claim what was not hers to claim," I told her. "He has always been mine. In this life and in our past ones."

"No," she said, her jaw dropping a little.

I smirked at her and nodded my head. "That's right. I am not just his mate. I am his True Mate. And there is not a damn thing that you can do about it."

"Mine!" she growled out at me.

I shook my head. "No. Not yours. He was never yours. He's always been mine. Now get out."

"This is a public place," she said. "You have no right to kick me out of here."

I cocked my head to the side and reached out to touch a drop of blood about to drip off her chin, then held up my finger to show it to her. "I might not have the right, but I'll do it all the same. Look at what I did to you, without any effort at all. Imagine the kind of pain I could inflict on you if I really wanted to do some damage. Oh, and I'm a doctor, so I can get awfully creative with the human body."

She glared at me. Her eyes had blinked back to their normal dark brown color. They were almost black. It made her look a little like a demon, which, at the moment, didn't seem that far from the truth.

"It's up to you, little wolf." I was still growling, since Delwyn was still mostly in control. "You can leave here and leave my mate alone, for good. Or I can make you. The choice is yours."

I watched as she pushed herself up off the floor, grabbing the counter for support and leaving a streak of blood on the edge of it. She walked over to the door, looked back at us one more time, then left with her friends in tow.

I let out a long breath and pushed Delwyn back a little.

"Damn, Isaac," Namjoon said. "That was kind of hot, baby."

I took a few deep breaths, then looked at my mate. When I did, the full image of what I had just done started to sink into my consciousness. I was still looking at him when a thought hit my head.

I had gotten jealous. I had gotten jealous like my dad and hurt somebody.

I knew from the look on his face that Namjoon could tell what I was thinking. He usually could.

"Isaac, baby, no..." He started to reach for me, but I stepped back.

No way in hell was I going to become my dad and possibly hurt my mate.

So I did the only thing I could do at that moment.

I ran.
