Chapter Thirty-Four: Home
*******Isaac's POV*******
"Come on, Aurora," I said as I looked up at her. "Just one more gentle push, and the first pup will be here,"
"I can't," she cried. She looked up at Jimin who was holding her hand. "Can't you do it for me?"
"If I could, I would," Jimin told her. "You know that I would. I wish I was a seahorse. Then I could do this, instead of you, since the males are the ones that give birth." He held her hand in both of hers. "Pull strength from me, sweetheart. You can do this."
She shook her head. "I can't. I'm too tired. Especially with you spouting random pregnancy facts that you learned from watching Friends reruns with Namjoon."
"You can do this, Aurora," I told her. "One more push."
"But then I have to do it all over again," she whined. She looked at Jimin again. "This is your fault! Why did you have to get me pregnant with twins? One of them is just going to have to stay in there."
I couldn't help but giggle at her. "Just focus on this one, then we'll worry about the other one. I need you to push, Aurora."
She sighed and I saw her tighten her grip on Jimin's hand so much that he winced, but she began pushing and I used my small hands to gently turn the baby a little, then slide it out. I grabbed a towel to wrap it in and gently patted it's face to clean it a little, then used a bulb syringe to clear out it's mouth.
"What isn't it crying?" She asked, sounding worried. "Is the baby okay? Oh god, please tell me it's okay."
"Some babies just need a moment," I told her as I gently rubbed my fist on the baby's chest. "Come on, little one."
A few seconds later, a wail filled the room. I could hear both Aurora and Jimin release the breath that they'd be holding.
"You have a beautiful baby girl," I told them. I clamped the umbilical cord, then held a pair of surgical scissors out to Jimin. "Do you want to cut the cord?"
"Do I ever," Jimin said, reaching for the scissors and moving towards where I was holding his daughter.
I looked up at him and laughed. "Jimin, you have to stop crying and open your eyes if you want to do this."
He sniffled and used his sleeve to rub at his eyes. "I got it. I can do this." He looked down at the baby I was holding and more tears fell. "She's so beautiful." He let out a little sob, then took a deep breath and shook his head. "I'm fine. I promise."
I showed him what to do, and he cut the cord right where I told him to.
"I know that you don't want me saying anything related to Friends right now, but Chandler Bing was right," he said with a laugh. "That's spongy."
Both Aurora and I laughed.
"Leave it to my mate to make a joke at a moment like this," she said, rolling her eyes a little.
"That sounded more like something my mate would say," I told them both. "I agree with Aurora. No more Friends for you and my mate."
Jimin shrugged as I handed his daughter off to a nurse to get her cleaned up, weighed, and measured.
I checked Aurora and then looked at her. "Okay, the second pup is ready to make their way into the world."
Aurora shook her head. "No. No more." She was laying back on the pillows and looking exhausted. Not that I could blame her, we had been at this for almost 17 hours. "Can't I take a nap first?"
"You could try, but I don't think that you'd get very far," I told her. "This little one is on their way down, like they just got summoned by Bob Barker."
Jimin looked at me like I was crazy, but Aurora laughed. "I used to love watching that show when I was sick and couldn't go to school. I still can't eat chicken noodle soup without thinking about it."
"I'm confused, so this must be some American thing," Jimin said as he grabbed Aurora's hand again. "I assume that you're not talking about eating Hobi-Hyung's song."
I nodded. "It is. Now come on, Aurora. The baby is already crowning, so it shouldn't take much."
She gripped Jimin's hand and pushed hard.
"Not so hard, we don't want to force the baby out too violently," I told her. "Nice gentle pushes. It will be easier on you, too. Deep breath, push, deep breath, push, okay?"
She nodded, then did what I told her, and within just a couple of minutes, the second pup came into the world. Jimin held her hand with one of his, and moved down a little to see the baby, then looked back at his mate with a huge smile on his face.
"Another girl," he told her.
I clamped the second umbilical cord and then let Jimin cut it. This little one started crying without any encouragement needed. The nurse handed the first baby to Aurora so that I could hand her the second to go through the same process again.
Aurora looked down at the baby in her arms. "She's so beautiful." She looked up at me. "When can we tell if they're identical or fraternal?"
"A DNA test can tell us for sure," I told them as the nurse handed the second baby to Jimin, who started cooing at her. "You guys didn't want to know the sex of the babies, or anything else. You wanted to be surprised. But I saw at one of your scans that they shared a placenta, Aurora. So more than likely, they're identical."
She looked up at Jimin. "You already know what I wanted to name them if they were girls."
He rolled his eyes a little. "While I think it's silly to name our babies after a TV show, I know that it's your favorite, and I'm not going to fight you on it."
"If you don't like the names, then we can come up with something else," she told him with a shrug.
"No, I like them," he said. "I'm fine with it. They're pretty names."
She smiled at him and reached for his hand. "Thank you, Jimin."
He leaned down and kissed her softly, then smiled at me.
"Thank you for taking care of my mate and our pups, Isaac," he told me. "I wouldn't have trusted them with anybody else but you."
Aurora nodded in agreement. "We love you, Isaac. We're so glad that Namjoon found you."
Now I was the one that was tearing up. "I love you guys, too."
"Do you want to know their names?" Jimin asked me.
I shook my head. "No. I'm going to give you both a little bit to bond with your babies. You can tell me when you tell everybody else." I stood up and went to the other side of the bed from Jimin, touching Aurora's shoulder. "You did amazing, Aurora. You're both going to make such great parents. You already take care of the rest of us. These little girls are lucky to have you."
In the two months since my kidnapping, Aurora and I had gotten really close. She was like the sister that I never had. Jimin, too. He had gotten special permission to be posted at Namjoon's base for the last months of her pregnancy, so that I would be close if anything went wrong with her or the pups. I don't know if I ever would have gotten back to myself without either of them, or my mate. They were caring and gentle with me. They didn't push me. They let me heal both inside and out, at my own pace. They took turns while I recovered, tending to the injuries on my body, listening when I had breakdowns. The rest of the guys helped when they could, but I knew that I never would have gotten to where I am now, without Namjoon, Jimin, and Aurora.
I still wasn't completely healed, but I was a lot better. On the outside, at least. On the inside, however...I didn't know if I would ever fully heal from that. But Namjoon made it a lot easier to cope with it every day. He spent all of his free time telling me how much he loved me, and showing me in different, little ways.
I slipped out of the room and went into the waiting room in my small clinic, to find the other six guys pacing so much that they were walking into each other. When I walked into the room, they all stopped and looked at me.
"Well?" Namjoon asked, a worried look on his face.
"They have two beautiful pups," I told the group. "Mama and babies are all doing well. You can see them soon. They just need some family bonding time first."
Jungkook crumbled to the floor where he was standing and started crying.
"Kookie?" I asked as I walked over to him. "Are you okay?"
"Happy," he told me as he wiped at his eyes. "Happy tears. I'm an uncle."
I laughed at him and gave him a hug, then turned back to find my mate, who wrapped his arms around me and kissed me. "Thank you for taking care of our Alpha and Luna," he told me. "I'm so proud of you."
I laughed again as I looked up at him. "I had the easy job, I told him. Aurora is the one that you should be proud of."
"Our Luna-Noona is the best," Jungkook said. He was still crying as he said it. "She's so brave."
The whole room started laughing at him and he told us all to shut up.
After a couple of hours, once the babies and their parents had time to rest and get cleaned up, the whole group of us walked into their room to meet the newest additions.
I can't even describe what it was like to see these men, some of the biggest celebrities in the world, who men and women alike went crazy for, melt and coo over these two little girls.
"What are their names?" Jin asked as he leaned over to look at the baby Aurora was holding.
"This is Lorelai," she told the group, then pointed at the baby Jimin was holding. "And that is Rory."
Jungkook giggled. "I'm so glad you forced me to watch Gilmore Girls with you on repeat through your entire pregnancy." He reached his arms out towards Jimin and made grabby hands. "Gimmie!"
Jimin laughed and placed the baby in Jungkook's arms, making sure he knew how to support her head as he held her. Aurora did the same, handing Lorelai off to Jin, who started telling the baby that no matter what Jungkook told her, he was determined to be her favorite uncle.
Namjoon wrapped and arm around my waist and I leaned into his side as I looked around the room.
This was my pack.
My family.
I finally felt something that I don't know if I've ever felt in my life.
Home.
********************
A/N: I just want to say this: I have never had a baby. While I have been in the room when one of my best friend's sisters had her baby, all of my real knowledge of birth comes from watching Call the Midwife. Thank you so much for reading my story. I really hope that you enjoyed reading it, as much as I enjoyed writing it. Just in case you're wondering about the next book in this series, it will be Tae's. It was supposed to be Jungkook's, but then those pictures of him geared up in all black came out, and I just had to use it in his story. Since Jungkook's story takes place after they get out of the military, Tae's has to come first. Thank you, once again, for reading. -------Kat
