Chapter Twenty: Annoying Time Fairy
*******Aurora's POV*******
Aurora.
'Hmmm?' I asked in my head. I was half asleep. What did she want now?
Aurora, we need to talk.
'Not now. I'm tired. Today was a lot.'
Aurora, we must talk while Jimin and Varic are asleep.
'Why?'
You can not tell them what I am about to tell you. It will upset them, and we don't need that right now.
'What's going on?' I asked, now fully awake.
I'm not sure how to say this to you...
'Well you woke me up, so...'
This is not a time for jokes, Aurora. We are dying.
That made me sit straight up in bed. I looked to the side to make sure that I hadn't woken up Jimin, but he was sleeping peacefully, curled up in a cute, little ball.
'What are you talking about, Petra?'
Varic and I have been mates for a very long time. But we are not from the same place. We are not from the same pack. Werewolves were created by a coven of witches long, long ago. But when my pack was created, something went wrong in the process of the spell. In my pack, if a wolf does not mate for a certain amount of time, a certain amount of lives, they will die. I will die, soon. And not be reborn again. And neither will you. Our souls have been incomplete for too long. They must join together with their other half to survive.
'But we've found our mates, Petra. I don't see the problem here.'
We have found them, yes. But there has been no talk of mating. I think that maybe Jimin is scared that this is all too much, too soon, for you. But if we do not mate with them in the next month, we will die.
'I...I don't want to die. Not when I just found out who I am. Not when I just found Jimin.'
We need to find a way to convince Jimin that this is something we need. Something that we must have in order to survive.
'Can't we just tell him?'
I do not know, Aurora. I was always told that it was a secret in our pack.
'What is the amount of years that you are talking about?'
217 years. If we go that long without mating, then....
'I still think that you should let me tell Jimin. It might be a pack secret, but he and Varic are our mates, right? Doesn't that make them our de facto pack mates?'
There was a pause.
'Petra? Did I say something wrong?'
No, sweet girl. No. You said something very, very right. How have I never thought of this before? Of course they're part of our pack if they're our True Mates. You're very smart, Aurora.
'So we can tell them?'
We can. We'll do it in the morning. Let's get some sleep.
*******Jimin's POV*******
I woke up the next morning to the smell of bacon and eggs. And toast, if my wolfish sense of smell was correct. Sitting up, I looked over at Aurora with a frown.
If she was sleeping next to me, then where was the smell coming from?
I reached over and shook her. "Aurora. Aurora, baby, wake up."
She hummed lightly, but didn't open her eyes as she curled her body towards mine.
"Aurora!" I said a little louder, shaking her a bit harder.
"Jeez," she said, sitting up. "What, Jimin? Why are you yelling at me?"
"There's somebody in your house," I told her. "I smell bacon and eggs."
She sighed, rolled her eyes, and flopped back on the bed.
"It's probably just Amara. Chill out, dude."
"Huh? Who?!" I asked, still confused.
"Amara. My cousin," she said, covering her eyes with her forearm. "You met her the other day. Whenever it was that you came to see me and I was sick."
"That was almost a week ago, love," I said.
"Well the days are all blending together," she said. "But to be honest, I'm surprised that she waited this long."
"Waited this long to what?" I asked her. Why was she not more worried that somebody was in her house? In her kitchen?
"Knock, knock!" a voice sang out as knuckles hit the bedroom door. "Hope you're both decent!"
I pulled the blanket up and clutched it in front of my chest. I was definitely not decent. I mean...I was dressed, but I sleep shirtless, and nobody should see that except for the perfect woman lying down beside me like this is completely normal.
"Good morning, cousin," the woman at the door said as she carried in a tray full of food. "It's 7 o'clock."
"Good morning, annoying Time Fairy," Aurora groaned out next to me. "Why are you breaking into my house and using my kitchen?"
"I'm not allowed to come make breakfast for my favorite cousin and the man that she kept a secret from me?" she asked, her tone sickeningly sweet.
"It's not like I can tell the entire world that I'm dating Park Jimin," Aurora said, sitting up and giving the woman who was apparently her cousin an annoyed look. "I had to sign an NDA when I won the contest."
"You had to what?!" I asked, at the same time her cousin did.
I was shocked. I hate when they do that. I get that I'm an idol and things about my life should be kept private, but she should at least be able to share the look on her kids' faces when I walked into the classroom. She should be able to talk about the things I did with her class that day, and how much fun we had.
Aurora looked from her cousin to me, then shrugged. "I just figured that it was normal operating procedure. Is it not?"
"I can't believe you signed that thing," her cousin said. "Did you even read it first?"
I turned to give her a soft smile. "It is normal operating procedure. I just wish that they wouldn't do it. Especially for something like winning this contest. I mean...did they make a room full of 5-year-olds sign one, too? I doubt it."
Aurora shrugged again, then turned to look at her cousin. "Why are you here, Amara?"
"I haven't seen you in a week. I missed you." Amara set the tray down on the bed in front of Aurora.
"You could have just called to check on me," she said, reaching for a piece of bacon and chewing on it.
"I thought you might actually be up to going back to school today, and I wanted to make sure that you were awake in time," she said, crossing her arms. "I didn't realize that I would be in trouble for worrying about you and your job, which you love."
"You're not in trouble, Mar," Aurora told her. "And I was planning on going back to school today. I guess that I slept a little too long. I should get ready, or I'm going to be late."
"You're going back to school?" I asked her with a frown.
"Us normal people have to work to make money to pay rent and buy dog food," Amara said.
"You think that I don't work?" I asked her. It came out a bit defensive, but what she said made me mad. I worked my ass off at what I do. Yes, I have money, but I've earned it.
Aurora put her hand on my arm. "I'm sure that that's not how she meant it, Jimin. Amara has been ARMY longer than I have. She knows how hard you guys all work."
Amara sighed. "I do. I'm sorry. I don't want to get off on the wrong foot with you, if you're going to be dating my cousin and best friend."
I nodded to her. "Neither do I. Truce?" I asked, reaching my hand out, which she put hers in and shook. "Good." I turned to Aurora. "Eat and I'll drive you to work, baby."
"I can drive myself, Jimin," she said, shaking her head as she picked up a piece of toast. "I need my car so that I can get home after school, anyway."
"But if you don't have it, then I have an excuse to pick you up," I told her with a shrug.
She giggled. "Okay. Deal."
"I'm going to go and call Joon-Hyung and see what I'm supposed to be doing today," I said, climbing out of bed. "I'll be right back. Save me some bacon."
I walked out of the room and towards the kitchen, then outside on the back porch, closing the door behind me. I did need to find out my schedule today, since I had been mostly MIA for an entire week, but I also wanted to give Aurora some time to try and explain what she could to her cousin.
Jimin.
'Varic.'
Can we talk for a moment?
'Of course. What's up?'
It has been a week, Jimin. A whole week since we told her. We need to mate.
'I know, I just...'
You're afraid of what she's going to think when she sees our knot?
'I don't want to hurt her.'
You won't, Jimin. I know that you're worried, but now that she knows what she is and what we are, things are much easier. We don't have to hide any part of ourselves from her and Petra. They were made for us. For every part of us. Knotting Aurora is not going to hurt her. And we should do it before our rut or her heat hits. That will make it way too intense for her first time with us. Now is better.
'But...' I paused and sighed. 'I get what you're saying, but I'm used to hiding myself from everyone but my other members. It's hard to open up, even to Aurora. She wasn't raised in this world like I was, and I worry that any little thing might be too much for her to handle and she'll leave me.'
Jimin...
'I have searched for her for so long, Varic. And now that I am remembering our past lives without her, it's even worse. I'm fucking terrified of losing her.'
I get it. I do. More than you know. I feel the same about Petra. But we have to mate, or our bond will be damaged. You know how it works, Jimin. The longer we wait, the less strong our bond will be.
'I know. I'll talk to her tonight, okay? Maybe if I warn her about my knot ahead of time, it will be better.'
Varic laughed in my head.
She knows how werewolf stories go, Jimin. She admitted to reading them, didn't she? I'm sure that she's already expecting it.

A/N: I'm sorry. I know that it's been awhile since I updated any of my stories, but life has been a lot lately. I promise to try and do better. This is a bit of a filler chapter, but it's all that came to my mind. The next chapter though....will be what some of you have been asking for. -------Kat
