Chapter Three: You Jump, I Jump, Jack
"Ugh, Jimin," I said, rolling my eyes at him again. "Stop flirting, would you?"
"Why?" He asks me, a frown on his perfect face.
"Because I know that it doesn't mean anything," I tell him. "You flirt with everyone. It's just your personality."
"Sorry," he says, looking down at his hands. "I didn't realize that was a bad thing."
"It's not, you're just nice to everybody," I tell him. "But I'm not used to getting attention from guys, and it kinda makes me nervous."
"You're not used to getting attention from guys?" he asks me, looking skeptical. "Are you serious? What in the hell is wrong with guys in this country?"
"Jimin, come on. Be serious," I tell him.
"I am being serious, Aurora," he says, his eyes locked onto mine. He does actually look like he's telling the truth. "You're beautiful.. And if the guys here can't see that, then there is something deeply wrong with them."
I cock my head to the side, examining his handsome face.
"What?" He asks me. I shrug at him, and he tries again. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"I'm just trying to figure you out," I say. I turn back to my desk and grab a notebook, flipping it open with one hand as I reach for a pencil with the other. I write 'Concert Ideas' at the top of the page and underline it, then I start a list with the seven songs that I already suggested.
Jimin leaned over my arm to see what I was writing. "You're making a list?"
"Yeah. How else are we going to keep track?" I ask him. "There's too many songs to remember."
Jimin chuckles softly. "You're not wrong."
"Speaking of, I want one that somebody asked Jungkook for during his birthday VLive, that he forgot ya'll had even recorded."
"Heartbeat?" he asks me with a laugh. "We haven't let him live down forgetting it, by-the-way."
I nod. "Yeah. I love that song. Everybody loves that song."
"I'll have to ask if we're actually allowed to perform it," he tells me.
"Isn't it your song?"
"Well, yes, but it was recorded for an app and they might have the copyrights for it," he explains. "It should be okay, but I just have to ask to be sure."
"Ohhh. Okay, I see," I tell him, turning my head to smile at him. "Thanks in advance for checking."
"It's my job to help you, right?" He asks me with a smile.
"Yep," I said, looking down at the list of songs. "It's your job."
"Hey, I didn't mean..." He reached for my arm, laying his hand over my wrist. "I'm glad that I got your essay, Aurora. I've really enjoyed meeting you and being a part of your class today." He paused and smiled at me again. "You've treated me like a normal person, like a friend. It's part of why I asked if I could take you to dinner. I don't really want that feeling to end, yet. So I'm hoping that you haven't changed your mind about going."
I stared at him for a moment. "I haven't changed my mind."

One of his managers showed up to get Jimin just as my last kiddo was picked up by his mom. I told him that I wanted to go home and change, and he said that he'd pick me up at my house at six.
It was now 5:30, and I was staring at the clothes that were still all over my room from this morning. I had no idea what to wear. Where were we going for dinner? How was I supposed to know how to dress? McDonald's and a fancy restaurant had very different dress codes.
Do I want to dress like I do for school? Like a respectable teacher? Or do I want to dress how I prefer, with a little bit of an edge?
I finally settled on a flowery skater dress, black tights, black booties, and topped it off with an olive green jacket that matched the leaves on the dress. I was just tossing a pen and a small notebook, to write down concert ideas, in my purse, when the doorbell rang. I grabbed my stuff and went to answer it.
I opened the door to see Jimin standing there. He was wearing black slacks that were just tight enough to show off his muscular thighs, a blue button down that somehow made his silver hair look almost lavender, and a black leather jacket. To say that he looked good would be an understatement.
"Wow, Aurora," he said, his eyes roaming me from head to toe. "You look...wow."
I could help but blush as he continued to look me up-and-down. "Thanks. You look pretty 'wow' yourself."
His eyes finally settled back on mine. "Are you ready to go?"
"Yep. Sure am." I pulled the door shut behind me, then used my key to turn the deadlock. I followed him out to the car that was parked at the curb in front of my house. "An Aston Martin? Who are you, James Bond?"
Jimin shrugged. "If you're going to get a rental, you might as well get one that makes you feel like 007, right?"
"I've never even seen one of these in real life," I told him as I took in the shiny black paint job.
"Glad that I can be your first," he says, then laughs and shakes his head. "That really didn't sound right. Sorry."
I can't help but giggle at him. "I know what you meant, Jimin."
He's blushing a little when he opens the passenger side door for me, then goes around to climb in behind the wheel once I'm in and he's shut my door.
"Wow. I can't remember the last time that a guy opened a car door for me," I tell him as I buckle my seatbelt.
"I was raised well," he says as he does the same. "I know how to be a gentleman on a date."
I cock an eyebrow at him. "This is a date?"
"Yeah. What did you think it was?" He asks me as he hits a button to start the car.
"Umm...I thought you wanted to go to dinner to keep working on the songs for the concert," I answered. "I even packed a notebook and a pen." I tapped my fingers against my purse for effect.
He turns to look at me before he pulls away from the curb. "If that's all that you want this to be, then that's fine. I'll understand. But I meant what I said before. You're beautiful, and I like being around you, and if it's okay with you, I would like for this to be a date."
I stared at him for a moment, looking back-and-forth between his eyes, which were currently a light, honey brown from the contacts that he's wearing. I chewed on my lip as I nodded my head.
"Then it's a date."
"Good," he said, smiling at me, then turning back to the front and pulling away from the curb.
"Where are we going?" I asked him, looking over at him as he drove.
"I found a Korean BBQ place online," he tells me, smiling as he watches the road. "I thought that I would show you a little bit of my home while I'm here."
"I like that. It sounds perfect," I tell him. "I've never actually had Korean BBQ. Though I do have a bottle of Korean BBQ spice from The Spice and Tea Exchange, which is one of my favorite stores to spend hours in. It's pretty good. I put it in a lot of different foods."
"Like what?" he asks, glancing at me before looking back at the road.
"Uhhh..chicken, pork, and it's really good on steak," I tell him.
"Steak? Interesting," he says as he clicks on the turn signal. "You might have to make that for me some time.
"I can do that."
"Really?" He asks, looking over at me again, longer this time.
"Yes, really," I tell him with a laugh. I reach over and push his face back to the front. "Watch the road, dude."
"I can't help it," he says, shrugging his shoulders. "I like looking at you."
"Jimin..."
"Don't tell me not to flirt with you again," he says. "We're on a date, I should be allowed."
I can't help but giggle at him. "I wasn't going to. You're definitely allowed. It's just a lot to take."
"Why?"
"Like I told you before, I'm not used to it," I say, shrugging my shoulders and looking down at my hands.
Jimin glances at me, then reaches for one of my hands, sliding his fingers into mine and resting them on my thigh. "And like I said, there is something deeply wrong with the men in this country."
I smiled as I leaned my head back on the headrest, still turned to the side, watching him drive. "You're a really sweet guy, Park Jimin."
"I have been told that before," he says as he pulls into a parking lot. He parks the car, then turns to me. "I hope it's a good thing, and not something that's putting me in...uhh...what do Americans call it? Oh! The friend zone."
"You're worried about being put in the friend zone?" I ask him, giggling a little.
"Yeah, because I'm so 'sweet'," he says, using the hand that's not still holding mine to make air quotes. "Sometimes I feel like it's being said as a bad thing."
"It's not a bad thing to me, Jimin," I tell him. "Nobody has ever treated me the way that you have in only one day. But at the same time..."
"At the same time what?" he asks, his brows furrowing.
"At the same time...are we being realistic here?" I ask him. "You're a K-Pop idol, Jimin. You're part of the biggest group in the world right now. You fly all over the world, and you live in a completely different country."
"I'm here for a few weeks, though," he tells me. "It gives us time to see if this is something that should even be explored. And if we decide that it is, we can find a way to make it work."
"You're serious, aren't you?" I ask him. "You really want to see if we can make this work?"
"I've never been more serious, Aurora," He says. "I like you. There's just something about you. And I know that we just met this morning, and it's fast, but I don't have time in my life to take things slow. If I see something that I want, then I go for it. I put my all into it, and will do everything that I have to, to get what I want. And what I want, right now, is you."
"Jesus, that's intense," I say, my eyes locked onto his. "You're going to end up breaking my heart, but damnit, I want to see if there's something here, too."
"I will do everything in my power not to break your heart, Aurora," he tells me. The look on his face shows how completely honest and heart-felt he's being right now.
"Okay."
"Okay?" he asks. "Okay you're willing to jump in with me?"
"You jump, I jump, Jack."

A/N: We all know that Jimin is the sweetest person on earth, right? Yeah. So I can't really write him any other way. Hope you're mentally prepared for that. He's like a real-life Disney Prince, and I plan on keeping him that way. I hope that you're all staying safe and healthy. And happy. Please be happy. -------Kat
Here's the outfit that I envision Aurora wearing on their date:
And, of course, some beautiful Jimin smiles.
