yewon returned and took her seat beside sunghyun.

"oh? we have a goddess on our team?" sunghyun looked at yewon and smiled, raising his eyebrows slightly.

yewon pretended to gag and vomit, saying "you're an actor, an actor - not a comedian. stop trying to be stupid." upon hearing this, everyone in the room cracked up.

however, they all went speechless as the door opened, and they saw who come in next.

준형 JOON-HYUNG nonchalantly walked into the room - to him, it was just another variety show, after all. but something felt off, as he stopped in his tracks and looked at the other seven who were already seated.

"why..." he paused and binked a few times. "why's everyone so young?"

"i mean, i expected to see comedians like heechul, jongmin, or at least a host, like yoo jaesuk or kang hodong. what's this?" he complained and looked around.

the others giggled and minjun scoffed, "what's this - you're all young actors, actresses, idols, models - how do you expect me to sit beside them?"

joon-hyung sighed as he accepted his fate.

"i'm sorry but... joon hyung-ssi, how old are you?" yejin asked, trying to hold back her laughter.

joon-hyung simply chuckled and sighed once more. "i'm 45. born in 1975..."

bibi's jaw dropped open, realising how huge the age gap was. "i know i'm old, but is it that bad?" joon-hyung asked.

"she's the youngest here, she's 21," skye explained.

joon-hyung turned to the camera, saying, "i'm not used to being the oldest in a variety show's cast... but if i'm the oldest here, and i'm the only comedian here, i guess it's about time i took the spotlight right? i haven't gotten to host a show yet."

joon-hyung smiled and just dragged his feet to the room at the back. "whatever, let's get this done with."

"pick a number, 4 6 or 7? i'll pick 6." joon-hyung said, "but by the way, why is it so dark here? electricity isn't that expensive, is this show that low on budget?"

THE LED SCREEN CHANGED,
SAYING
"it's part of the aesthetic, boomer."

"hey i-" joon-hyung scoffed, "do you know how hard thomas edison or whoever tried to invent a light bulb? huh? and you're here discrediting him like that? kids nowadays-"

interrupting him, the cardboard box dropped into the compartment with a loud bang, and the compartment lit up.

"hey, that was so rude." joon-hyung said, as he picked up the box. "but how did they even hear what i said? i guess the technology here is pretty good. they got the budget, they just chose the ability to hear over the ability to see i guess. sure."

joon-hyung finally opened the envelope and read its contents.

"dear participant,
welcome to TRUE MAFIA.
for today, you will be on Team NIGHT.

from now on, you will always be a suspect - and so will everyone else.

your true identity is..."

it was funny & seemed like a
great choice upfront,
but i think she might be having
regrets now oops

it's okay because like i mentioned,
i'll just make him a somewhat
unofficial host who reads out
game rules and stuff, which
also means slightly more screentime
(but i think we can all agree
that he deserves it...?)
