Chapter 40

Those three months flew by fast. Every single day, Coven worked hard on their songs; singing them and then their dances. They worked hard also to just get back to normal again with Arcadia's changes. Meanwhile, Arcadia's nervousness had faded away and was replaced by intense confidence. The rest of the group, one by one, began to feel like that as well. So, when the performance night finally came, they were all ready for the performance of their lives.

For Arcadia and Taeyong, those three months were filled with texts and calls. They never had time to see each other, but neither of them felt any worry for their relationship. They both understood that they needed to work and that they were secure with each other. They had no concerns and felt solid. It was a good feeling for both of them.

For the night of Coven's performance, all of their friends were there. Of course, Taeyong and Taemin had special seats though. Both men felt proud of their lovers and how much they'd accomplished. They were excited to see what Coven had to show the world, as no one outside of Coven and their manager had seen or even heard any of their songs. They were kept secret and they weren't allowed to discuss anything with anyone else.

As the women geared up and got ready for their performance, Arcadia suddenly felt a sense of doubt. She wasn't sure if she was ready for everything all of a sudden.

"Arcadia. Don't doubt yourself now." Ga-eul spoke to Arcadia as she noticed the doubt on the black-haired woman's face. Arcadia nodded her head and with that, the show started. Arcadia went right into idol mode and felt the confidence once again. She knew she would be alright, and that the others would be alright as well.

~ ~ ~

The performance went better than any of Coven could have expected. They were flawless and were able to perform their 10 songs without any issue or mess up. They had worked hard on making sure everything was perfect but still able to be fun and enjoyable. The women of Coven did a great job, making all of their friends and fans incredibly proud of them.

After the performance was over and the women were off stage, the women all collapsed in various places. Arcadia, Nova, and Amara all fell into each other and hit the floor, with Arcadia landing on the other two women. Eclipse, Aurora, and Kim-Lee all leaned against the wall and slid down it, trying to catch their breaths. Ga-eul sat down in a chair and just watched the women of her group. She was the most proud of all. She couldn't believe where they'd gone and how much they'd accomplished in such a short amount of time.

"Alright! You all did amazing! I'm so proud of you all!" Sophia exclaimed to the group as she approached them. "As we agreed, you all are free for the night and can go to your after-party without a care in the world. You have the next few days off to do whatever you want. So enjoy your time."

"Fuck yeah! I've been waiting to enjoy a party with all our friends for a long ass time!" Amara replied as she looked up from her spot under Nova and Arcadia.

"Let's go get ready then! I wanna get drunk tonight!" Nova happily said next which surprised the group of women. Nova wasn't much of a drinker but she did go a little wild sometimes.

"Okay, but don't get alcohol poisoning. No hospital trips tonight, alright?" Kim-Lee chuckled as she responded to the youngest of the group. Nova pretended to pout while Arcadia got off of her and Amara. Arcadia then helped her sister up before heading for their changing room.

"Where are you going? You look ready for something." Aurora asked the two women who were speeding off from the rest of the group.

"I want to see Taeyong. Right now." Arcadia replied before disappearing into the changing room to get ready for the after-party.

"I wanna see Taemin." Eclipse answered before she as well disappeared into the room. Ga-eul couldn't help but smile at the two sisters. They'd come a long way, just like the whole group had. The sister's answers seemed to spark a fire in the rest of them then. They all wanted to see their friends and hang out. So, the entirety of Coven headed to the changing room and got ready.

The women changed into comfortable yet still stylish clothing with Arcadia for once not wearing a tank top and shorts or pants. Arcadia actually wore a dress. It was a black dress with red roses all over it. It came to just above her knees and had no sleeves. Arcadia was even wearing a pair of high heels that were more girly than she was used to. Seeing her in the dress was surprising for Eclipse and the others, but the shoes shocked them even more so. Arcadia had been adamant about not wearing too feminine of clothes and had a hard time walking in heels sometimes.

After everyone was ready, they piled into their van and hurried off to the location of the party. It was a private restaurant that had been rented out for the night just for the group and their friends. Their friends were already there waiting for them. Taemin, Taeyong, Ten, Johnny, Mark, Jaehyun, Onew, Minho, Key, Lucas, Kai, and Baekhyun were all the friends that were able to make it to the party. Others that were friendly with Coven hadn't been able to make it due to various reasons.

As soon as the women walked into the room everyone was in, the men all paused. They were all collectively surprised to see Arcadia in a dress and high heels. Taeyong however was the most surprised. He just stood there with a drink in his hands, frozen as he stared at his lover.

"Um... Are you going to keep looking at me or are you going to greet me?" Arcadia asked her man as she approached him. Arcadia had clearly gotten better with walking in heels since she didn't stumble once in the shoes she was wearing.

"Oh! Um! Uh..." Taeyong muttered in shock at Arcadia. "You look beautiful."

"I know, right? I hate it." Arcadia laughed at her own comment. She could hear her sister sigh at her words though, which made her laugh harder.

"I don't... I mean, you're always beautiful, but..."

"I know, this is different though." Arcadia knew what Taeyong was meaning. She understood completely. She'd changed up her party attire for a reason and this was the reason. She wanted to see how everyone would react to her being more feminine. "Let's sit down. I don't know how much longer I can stand in these shoes."

"Alright." Taeyong nodded his head and followed Arcadia to a table. Ten, Mark, Johnny, Baekhyun, and Jaehyun all followed after the couple to sit with them. Arcadia headed right for the table with her special tequila on it. Once there, she grabbed the bottle and two glasses and sat down. Taeyong sat next to her with Ten on the other side of her. The others took their seats as well. Meanwhile, the others all found their own seats to hang out with each other as well.

"Hey, Arcadia?" Eclipse was at the table next to Arcadia's and was suddenly hit with worry as Arcadia began to drink.

"What's up?" Arcadia replied to her sister as she sat down her now empty glass.

"Don't go overboard with drinking, okay?"

"Alright. Don't worry about me though. I'll be fine." Arcadia turned back to her table of friends then. Eclipse just frowned at her sister but wanted to believe her anyway.

"Yo, should you be drinking on your medications?" Mark asked Arcadia in true concern.

"No, but I won't die or anything. I just can't drink too much." Arcadia's response concerned Taeyong, but he pushed his worry away as he didn't want to ruin the good mood of the table.

"Taeyong, you shouldn't drink too much either. You'll lose yourself." Johnny spoke up to his leader as he downed a glass of tequila. Arcadia was curious about what Johnny meant, but she was more curious to see Taeyong lose himself. Of course, she'd watch over him, but she'd never seen him lose himself in alcohol before so she wanted to see it.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of Taeyong. I got him." Arcadia said to the worried man as Taeyong smiled at her words.

"I got you too," Taeyong spoke to his lover as Arcadia poured him for alcohol.

~ ~ ~

Taeyong didn't have her. He didn't have much at all actually. After about two solid hours of drinking, laughing and just overall having fun, Taeyong was drunk beyond belief. Arcadia had stopped drinking soon after she realized that Taeyong was losing himself, so she was fairly sober then. This left Taeyong a blabbering mess as he clung onto Arcadia. He had his head leaned against her shoulder as he held onto her tightly.

Arcadia had been ignoring Taeyong since she was having a conversation with Mark. However, Taeyong suddenly spoke up clearly.

"Don't leave me again..." Taeyong's words were like a knife to her heart as she stopped talking to Mark to look at the man clinging to her.

"What? Taeyong are you alright?" Arcadia felt horrible that even in his drunken state, he felt the trauma of her abandoning him.

"I'm scared you'll leave me again." Taeyong's words were so clear and coherent that Arcadia doubted whether he was actually drunk or not.

"I'll never willingly leave you again, Taeyong. It would take someone forcing me away from you to make me leave." Taeyong seemed to accept that to a point, as he sat up better in his chair. He held onto her arm now and shook it.

"Then let's get married! That way no one can pull us apart!" Hearing those words from the drunk Taeyong caused both Arcadia and Mark to freeze and just stare at him in confusion.

"But Taeyong, we can't just get married for that reason," Arcadia replied when she found the words to say after a moment of silence. Taeyong shook his head though, nearly causing him to fall out of his chair.

"I love you with every piece of me. I want to marry you anyway." To his words, Arcadia chuckled and patted his hands on her arm.

"Taeyong, I'll listen to your proposal when you actually have a ring and are of sound mind.

You're drunk right now."

"I have a ring." Taeyong's words instantly caused Mark to panic.

"Uh, what?" Arcadia's brain fizzled out at Taeyong's words.

"Um, he just isn't aware of what he's saying. He should take a bathroom break. We'll be back!" Mark instantly hopped out of his chair, dragged Taeyong out of his, and then started making his way to the bathroom. Taeyong stumbled all the way there, nearly falling a few times. Arcadia watched in horror as she was now worried that drunk Taeyong had revealed something to her that sober him didn't want to reveal just yet. "Johnny?"

"Yeah?" Johnny instantly replied, as the others at the table had been listening in and had heard everything that Taeyong had spoken to Arcadia.

"Does Taeyong have a ring for me?"

"Don't know, but even if I knew, I wouldn't tell you," Johnny smirked at her but she frowned at him. She wanted to know now, as she hated surprises and being surprised. Plus, she just wanted to know everything. Before she could respond to Johnny and push him for answers, crying was heard from the bathroom.

"Arcadia!" Taeyong was the one crying as Mark helped him out of the bathroom. "She'll leave!"

"Calm down, dude! She's right there!" Mark cried out to his leader in horror and concern. Taeyong instantly pushed Mark away from him and stumbled his way, sobbing to Arcadia. The woman instantly opened her arms for her crying boyfriend and allowed him to collapse into her.

"You were gonna leave without me!" Taeyong sobbed into Arcadia's chest.

"No, Taeyong, I'd never leave without you," Arcadia replied as she patted the crying man's head. She held him tightly until he was mostly calm. "I think it is time for us to go home though. You need to sleep this off."

"I'll take you two to your dorm. I brought one of our cars." Johnny suggested to the woman. Arcadia nodded her head in agreement.

"Thank you, Johnny."

"Let's get going, you drunk," Johnny spoke to Taeyong as he peeled Taeyong off of Arcadia. Taeyong allowed it but kept a hold of Arcadia by holding her hands tightly.

"You're coming with me?" Taeyong asked Arcadia as she stood up and grabbed her bag.

"Of course. I'll go anywhere and everywhere with you. We're gonna go sleep at my place, okay?" To Arcadia's words, Taeyong just nodded his head.

Arcadia quickly said goodbyes to everyone there and joined Johnny as he walked with the drunk man to his car. The two safely made it to the car and then Johnny drove them home since he hadn't drunk anything.

Once at the dorm building, Arcadia thanked Johnny and then led the drunk Taeyong to her dorm. As soon as she made it to her bedroom, she practically threw Taeyong onto her bed, the best she could. Taeyong instantly burst into giggles and scooted onto the bed more.

"What's so funny?" Arcadia asked as she looked at Taeyong in confusion.

"Are we going to sleep together?" Taeyong's words caused Arcadia's brain to short-circuit and stop altogether.

"Sleep, yes. Cuddling, yes. Anything else, no. you're too drunk." Arcadia replied to the drunk man, who was still giggling to himself. "Stay there. I'm going to get ready for bed." With that, Arcadia gathered her sleep clothes and went to her bathroom to get ready for the night. Once she was ready for sleep, she left her bathroom to see Taeyong already sleeping under her blankets, all snuggled up.

Arcadia chuckled at the man and headed to the kitchen for some pills for his future headache and then some water for the morning. Once she had found what she was after, she headed back to her room and set them on the bedside table for Taeyong. She then got into bed with him, with Taeyong instantly grabbing onto her and pulling her to him. She was facing Taeyong and just watched him for a bit.

"Taeyong, I love you, so much," Arcadia muttered to the sleeping man as she kissed his cheek. "You never have to worry about me leaving again. I won't go anywhere where you aren't or can't follow." With that, Arcadia got all snuggled into Taeyong's arms and drifted off to sleep.

~ ~ ~

The next morning, Taeyong woke up from a sick feeling in his stomach. The first thing he saw when he woke up was Arcadia's sleeping face. He would have loved to stay there and watch her sleep, but the overwhelming sense that he needed to throw up overtook him. So, Taeyong hurried off to her bathroom, after he realized where he was, and threw up. Once everything was out of him, he rinsed his mouth out and went back to Arcadia's bed. He then noticed the pills and water on the bedside table. Taeyong took the pills and then crawled back into bed with Arcadia.

Taeyong never fully fell back to sleep, so he just laid there with Arcadia and watched her as she slept. He tried to remember the previous night, but it was all a blur after the many drinks he had. His thoughts were interrupted by Arcadia suddenly moving. She stretched out and then slowly opened her eyes, only to then smile as she saw that Taeyong was awake.

"How do you feel?" Arcadia's first words that morning were full of concern for Taeyong.

"I'm better now that you're awake," Taeyong admitted to Arcadia, despite not fully feeling alright still. He was feeling better though and things were slowly becoming more clear to him. After a few minutes of silence, Taeyong had a flash of memory which instantly horrified him. He immediately sat up and looked at Arcadia with shock on his face.

"Hmm? What's wrong?"

"Did I say anything weird last night? Or act weird? Like was I sobbing or something?" Taeyong had remembered the parts of him crying to Arcadia about something he couldn't quite remember yet.

"Yes. You told me that you wanted to marry me and that you have a ring for me. You admitted all this while sobbing and clinging onto me." Arcadia responded as she sat up in bed with him. Taeyong instantly sighed and covered his face with his hands. "Taeyong?"

"I ruined the surprise..." Taeyong's words sent a chill through Arcadia. She was frozen as soon as the words left his mouth.

"Huh?" Arcadia hoped that he wasn't serious, but she could see the seriousness on Taeyong's face.

"I have a ring for you, Arcadia. I gave it to Mark to hide in his room until we were fully ready." Taeyong replied to his lover as he moved his hands back to his lap. He looked into Arcadia's surprised eyes and she could tell that he was completely serious about this.

"It'll still be a surprise though, right? I mean, we're not ready yet. We won't be getting engaged anytime soon, right?"

"Why not? Not that I'm saying let's go get married right now, but why not soon?"

"It hasn't been too long since I came back to everything. If we got engaged now, people might think that it was for the wrong reasons."

"I don't care. I just want you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Isn't that enough?" Taeyong felt a little hurt that Arcadia seemed so determined to not marry him.

"I feel the same, but I'm nervous about how others would see us."

"Right... Besides, I need to get your mother's approval first, right?" Taeyong's question caused Arcadia to literally laugh out loud at him.

"That won't happen. My mother is bitter toward me for how great my life has turned out. She was never much of a mother in the first place anyway. So all you need is my approval and your approval. After all, it's our lives, not anybody else's."

"Then, do you want to get engaged for real?"

"Sure, but if you ask me in public, I'll say no. I don't like public surprises."

"Understandable. Don't worry though, I'll surprise you when it's just us one day. It'll be special." To Taeyong's words, Arcadia chuckled at him.

"It's a plan then. I can't wait for you to actually propose to me. Will you cry then too? You were so cute last night." Taeyong's face went completely red at Arcadia's statement. However, his stomach then growled which caused both of them to look at him before bursting out into laughter.

"I uh... I guess I'm hungry?" Taeyong replied more in a questioning way than anything else.

"Let's go see if the others are awake and cooking anything yet."

"Alright, but I'm still wearing yesterday's clothes." Taeyong looked down at himself, not too sure about what to do about that.

"I'm sorry. I don't have any clothes for you. Maybe next time you come over, you bring extra clothes to leave here. I'll do the same with your place. We can have a drawer in each other's rooms."

"Sounds great." Taeyong smiled at Arcadia, clearly liking that idea.

"Alright then. I'll get ready for the day and meet you out there, okay?"

"Sure," Taeyong replied as he climbed out of the bed. He then made his way to the kitchen where Eclipse and Taemin were with Precious. The growing cub was on the floor eating her breakfast. Eclipse was at the stove while Taemin was seated at the table.

"Ah, Taeyong, how are you feeling?" Taemin questioned the man as he was noticed by the couple.

"I'm..." Taeyong was going to reply but then realized that everyone else had seen him in his drunken state the night before. "Oh..." Taeyong's face showed that he was horrified and embarrassed, which caused Eclipse to chuckle at him.

"You were pretty loud last night with the crying on Arcadia. Not to mention the marriage topic you brought up." Eclipse spoke to the blushing man, which caused him to blush deeper.

"I shouldn't get drunk like that too often. I ended up spoiling a surprise." Taeyong muttered as he took a seat at the table with Taemin.

"Do you want some food? I'm about done cooking."

"I'd like some, thank you. Arcadia will join us shortly, so hopefully, there's enough for all of us."

"Oh? She's up too?" Eclipse perked up at that. "How'd she take you wanting to marry her?"

"I always planned on marrying him," Arcadia responded to her sister as she walked into the kitchen. "First though, there's the engagement that will eventually happen." Arcadia walked to the table and took a seat next to Taeyong. "Speaking of that, when are you and Taemin getting engaged?"

"Hmm?" Eclipse turned to look at her sister, then at Taemin with some mysterious look in her eyes. Taemin looked back at Eclipse with a worried look.

"Uh, what the fuck is that look you're sharing? Are you two already engaged or something?"

"Technically? We're married."

"Uh, what?" Arcadia blurted out in shock as Taeyong's jaw dropped.

"When Taemin and I first met in Japan, we got married when we went off on our own," Eclipse admitted to her sister, who seemed even more confused.

"You mean when I couldn't find you two the rest of that day, you were getting married?!"

"Correct," Taemin replied for Eclipse, who seemed a little flustered.

"Does anyone else know?"

"Other than you two, the man who married us knows but we paid him extra to keep quiet," Eclipse responded with a smile on her face. Arcadia was just so surprised that she couldn't think of a response to that. So, she turned to Taeyong and spoke to him.

"Is this real? Is my sister telling me that she married a man she had literally just met at the time?" Arcadia asked Taeyong, who just shrugged his shoulders in response. He was just as surprised and shocked as she was.

"I'm sorry, Arcadia. Taemin and I are still planning a wedding here in Korea, then a wedding in America too. To celebrate all our cultures. Then we'll announce it to the world." Arcadia just looked back to her sister and sighed at her.

"You should have told me sooner... but I understand why you kept it to yourselves," Arcadia muttered to her sister before thinking about something. "But where're the rings?"

"We can't wear them, so I keep mine in my bedside table. Taemin keeps his in his bedside table too. But I have a picture of mine." Eclipse then pulled out her cell phone, brought up the photo of her ring, and then handed the phone to her sister.

Eclipse's ring was a stainless steel band with a large purple sapphire in the shape of a pear. Little purple sapphire hearts were all around the main stone. All the purples were different shades.

"Damn. That's beautiful." Arcadia spoke up as she handed the phone back to Eclipse.

"It is." Taeyong nodded his head in agreement.

"The ring came to me in a dream. I had it custom made." Taemin admitted to the group around him.

"Did you have a dream about the ring you should get or make for Arcadia too?" Eclipse asked as she looked at Taeyong.

"I did have a custom-made ring created. I hope that Arcadia will love it." Taeyong replied simply. Arcadia instantly smiled at him though.

"I'll love it. Because it will come from you." Arcadia smiled at Taeyong, who just smiled back at her.

"What will you love, Arc?" Amara questioned as she entered the kitchen suddenly. Instantly, everyone in the kitchen froze and just stared at Amara.

"You should mind your own business." Arcadia was the first to reply, in a rude tone.

"Fuck off," Amara replied with a laugh.

"You fuck off first, I was already here," Arcadia responded with a laugh of her own. Both women then burst into laughter together.

"It's nice to have you back, mostly." Amara smiled at Arcadia, but Arcadia turned her sister. Eclipse was now dishing out the food she'd been making, only for the four of them. "Yo, what about me?"

"You should have woken up sooner." Eclipse simply stated to the purple-haired woman. Amara pouted but didn't make a fuss about it. She just made her way to the pantry and started to search for something for herself to eat.

So, with that, the four of them ate while Amara cooked herself food. Once their food was consumed, Taeyong stood up with a frown and looked at Arcadia.

"I should really get going. I probably am missing work. I might get into trouble. Either that or my group is getting themselves into trouble without me." Taeyong spoke to the group.

"Alright. Have a good day. Next time we hang out, we should make some music together. More so than we have before." Arcadia stood up to give Taeyong a kiss as she spoke. Taeyong agreed with her and then kissed Arcadia. After he gathered his belongings, Taeyong left the dorm to head home.

After Taeyong left, Arcadia sat back down to play on her phone, only to receive a text message from an unknown number. It was just a blank message so Arcadia disregarded it and put her phone away to help eclipse clean up their food mess. Arcadia didn't bother to acknowledge the bad feeling she'd gotten from the blank text. She just pushed everything to the back of her mind to go about her day. Unaware of what was to come.
